oluafolabi: It won't end well.

It never ends well.

How do you mean? Depends on your intent. Are you dating her just for the pot of stew - I can assure you, any fallout is tantamount to loosing your friendship. But if u mean well and u have a pure intent, then you are safe. FYI, I married my friends kid sister (mind you I was his best man at his wedding and that was my first meeting with her). It ends well !!!

arcbabe: people don't waste their time working for a particular company, sweating and killing themself while one person at the top will be feeling bossy with his fat butt and small head grin make you money and get out of there to start your own. That lady the OP is talking about is probably building a house by now. When you eat make sure your employees eat too so they won't end up punishing you but people are just so selfish undecided

Lo & Behold, the house collapse. *Karma is a biatch!!! lol

You seriously need to shut it.

People doing similar jobs (and worse) in malls in Europe get paid minimum wage (which is peanuts) while their bosses earn hundreds of thousands and declare huge profits every year. Yet, you do not find such people stealing from their bosses or expecting tips from customers.

You need to change your entire orientation and outlook to life/career.

If your type gets a bank job, there's a 99percent chance that you will carry out a bank fraud if you have the slightest opportunity.

Funkybabe, no need to continue arguing with the likes of archbabe, its never gonna change anything. Its either thats who they are / how they were brought up. Nothing u say would make dem see the truth. A thief is a thief either small scale / on a bigger platform. The question is what have they become with all the peanuts they've been still? - Ans: Still the same horrible, miserable, ne'er-do-well cashier at the till (not including the ones that have their integrity intact)

arcbabe: OP that is where cashiers get their money from,I have worked as a cashier before. You are very wicked trying to expose her and if they sack her what benefit will it be to you. If a product bought is scanned it will reflect in the invoice but if the product is not scanned it wouldn't reflect in the invoice and that is where cashier see their own money from. So they feel it is better not to scan the product so that it wouldn't reflect in the invoice and the money is theirs b'cos you can't scan a product that has already reflected in the invoice and take the money, they will have shortage of cash and the money will be deducted from their salary. So the trick is don't scan a product and it won't reflect in the invoice and the money is yours without you having any form of shortage.

Where cashiers get their money from Seriously ... Thieves!!!

Olugbenger: Op, you are wicked for exposing this. You are spoiling some poor folks source of income even when you claim to be very rich. embarassed embarassed

What trash are you spewing out? Is the cashier not being paid her monthly emoluments? This is where our problem lies in this country, yet we are quick to criticize those stealing funds in govt while we encourage those that operate on a smaller scale. Yet, the young shall grow, these cashier kinds would graduate one day and steal more or are u one of the cashier culprits

We agree that getting a comprehensive insurance done on a vehicle is ok but what about in the case where one is killed even after showing them the necessary securities installed in the vehicle? Armed robbers sometimes kill because they are aware that immediately they kick the owner out of the vehicle,he or she will contact the service provider so to avoid the issue of shutting down the vehicle they will kill. The best bet is to avoid such vehicles that attracts the armed robbers.

You knw some robbers are just trigger happy / blood thirsty ... People don't have control over what the gunman would do and why he would do it. You knw. Many have been killed without even owning a car. could be passenger of commercial vehicle, could be someone robbed in an alley etc. Sometimes some cars are snatched at gun point just to go carry out an operation and afterwards abandoned. The make and model doesnt even matter in this case, they just need a sharp getaway ride. Toyota / no Toyota. May God save us all in that country

sarcoma: Bros comprehensive insurance on a 1999 car did u consider the cost

Premium payment for comprehensive insurance in Nigeria is a % of the car's value and trust me you can even get it as low as 3.5% in Nigeria today. You can also note that its going to be applied only to the declared value of your car, some undervalue theirs while some overvalue theirs. So if you insured you pencil like on a value of 1M, you will be paying between 35K-50K annually. Which to me is small if you can afford to buy a 1M car

You took a very wise decision my brother. We agree that companies will do a comprehensive insurance on any official car they own but my problem is that sometimes the armed robbers might result to killing just like you mentioned that the guy had his leg shattered. No one will look at your Hyundai tucson so enjoy your ride. Most times i don't blame those that buy Kia or Hyundai even though i don't like them. my choice is Mercedes Benz and will always remain so for a very long time.

What is laptop compared to one's life? Never argue with a gunman ... let it go, you can buy another one. Did he get the laptop after his legs were shattered? I'll say NO!!!

I agree with you. God is the actual protetction we need. I dont shy away from leaving a holy bible on my dashboard.

Some guys were almost cursing when i came for car recovery after abandoning my broken down toyota car for 3 good days out of annoyance close to a highway. I noticed hands on the doors and the boot. But they couldnt open the car even with the spare tyre showing clearly inside the car...

Four of them were warning me, ''dont you ever keep your car here next time''.

But the kind prayer i pray for that car those 3 days no get part 2...

Why would you leave your car somewhere for 3 days ... U might not be that favoured / lucky next time. Wisdom is profitable!!!

Eyop: Bro forget about that car because my very close friend's own was stolen at gunpoint at Mafoluku. When he narrated the ordeal to me,he swore never to buy any Toyota vehicle again. The same armed robbers that robbed him also snatched 2 Toyota Corolla,1 Camry(his own which was over a year old),1 Toyota Highlander and 1 Toyota Rav4. His own was the worst because he lied to them that there's no security installed in the vehicle thinking they will just kick him out of the car but he never knew they will drive it with him but after like 30mins of driving, the vehicle was off and that was how they knew that it has a security installed. He said they beat the hell out of him grin grin and after he showed them, they threw him out only with his boxers.

So why buy a car that you won't be able to go out at anytime.

One bad practice thats common to Nigerias is overlooking the benefits of insurance. All you need to do is do a comprehensive insurance for your vehicle from a reputable insurance company (Likes of Lead Insurance, Mutual Benefits etc). If by any chance you are unlucky and robbed, answer their questions, dont try to be smart cos you could loose your life in the process, show them the security if it has any and still have your life. Afterwards, make the report to the police station, contact your insurance company and get your vehicle / insured amount back.

Alternatively, you can have a car tracker that can be installed and once you are let off the hook, call the service provider and let them know exact location of the vehicle and car can be shutdown. Goodluck!!!

Switch off your engine?!!!!!!! Like seriously??!!!!!!!. You know ur steering will lock right? and u r gonna lose your brake and power assist from the engine? Abeg no try am again oo. Odikwa risky.

Never ever switch off ur engine on motion in this situation, are you driving a 1982 model car that doesn't have is steering locked when the engine is off ... All you can do is hold on to your steering firmly, be in full control and do not panick. If you have to reduce the speed ASAP, use your gear. ... downshift gradually and sequentially, that way the engine brakes itself slowly ... Good luck guyz!

Anomnity:
Just because you can afford doesn't mean everyone can.70% or even more of Nigerians may only be able to afford cars below N1M.A lot more in that figure can only do cars of like 600k.
Anomnity, you didn't get the point I was trying to pass across. The FG claims the reason for this policy is to discourage tokunboh that people would be buying new cars for N1.5M. From my own view, they need not raise custom duties to achieve that ... Just let things be as it is now, bring your factories and let your brand new car sell for N1.5M, the people would be the ones to make their choice. Afterall, if I want to buy a tokunbo for like 1.5M and same car costs N1.5M, or just slightly more, why wont I buy the brand new. Its called competition!!!. You get what I mean.
This same thing they did in Abuja. Banning commercial buses in the name of there will be a rail project and city buses that would service the masses. Guess what, No rail in view and limited buses that couldn't even serve 20% of the workforce was bought leaving a whole lot of people stranded at the buss stop especially during closing hours. Rule of thumb should be 'Bring / establish the credible alternative before aborting / discard the old routine"

Car Talk / Re: Prices Of Imported Cars To Rise By 60% - Effective Date by Fajzay: 11:13am On Dec 11, 2013
What I would think is let the federal govt put their auto factories in place and have their cars sell for their so-called N1.5M. Lets see who will go for tokunboh when / if you can get a brand new for that price (if its possible).

The boss personal asked them to let me go,(really nice woman)I will get d permit asap
I made it very clear that I prefer to pay ten times d fine or even lose my life than to drop a penny for settlement(can't go against God)

You have learnt your lesson. Personally, I find it difficult to stop for those useless police (Not to even mention those standing in those less aggressive states like Ekiti etc). When you see me coming with 150-180KM/hr, with headlamps on, u clear off the highway and par-adventure, its a bend / pot-holes region. I slow down, and if asked to park, I traficate, attempt to park then zoom off. Let them follow me if they have the mind to go head to head with a 4.3L engine. Those people, U can never satisfy them, they must find 'something' missing in ur documents or cars. Can even tell you your plate number is fake!!! Damn. Naija sha!
