Unfortunately it is not so in practice, we have the PITA and the CITA which stipulates how personal income tax and company income tax should be deducted. but some states are very poor in driving compliance only Lagos and maybe Abuja and Porthacourt can boast of little compliance. Other states just go to Abuja for sharing money.
There are allowances in the law for family size and dependent relations, capital allowances, allowable expenses etc. please use a consultant the tax man is not your friend ooooo!!!!!

TO all those quoting me and saying their opinions i wish to refer you to Okezie ikpeazu case the current abia state governor accused of tax fraud. it was shown that his taxes were deducted at source but not remitted as at when due, ikpeazu was absolved of liability by the court of appeal. though the case is at the supreme court now ikpeazu will likely walk.

Bros Your location is the most important aspect, if you are in Abuja then it will go to FIRS but for any other state your taxes goes to the state internal revenue board.

Bros i have to tell u that pursuing this is a waste of resources, when you were working with them your taxes were classified as PAYEE, that is pay as you earn...now that you have quit it will be cancelled and turn to Personal Income tax. so you pursing them for remitting Payee is not your duty but that of the government, and you are not responsible for them not paying. be at rest

First of What is Alimony?
Alimony simply is a husband's (or wife's) provision for a spouse after separation or divorce; maintenance.
Please note that Alimony is different from child support. Child support goes to the children and the person with custody administers the funds, but alimony goes to the woman or man after separation.

The payer of alimony is usually the richer of the party, but most times it falls on the man.

I am strongly against importing this evil from obodo oyibo and i will state my reasons below

Let me tell u what will happen once alimony is passed into law. Boy meets broke girl, she doesnt love him but she will deny him sex until he is forced to marry. after marriage she will do everything to frustrate him and get a divorce, she gets the divorce and she gets paid for the rest of her life!!. Alimony doesnt stop until the other party remarries, so all baby girl needs to do is to collect condo on code, for her account will never run dry. Even America saw this exploitative traits by their women, they brought up pre-nup and some other laws to curb it.

2. African Culture has it covered
A man doesnt need to pay a woman after divorce and vice versa cus in africa esp Nigeria we have extended family. Such a person will not be left to their fate like in the west, there will always be one uncle or aunty that will take u in and help u heal. African society is wonderful we dont need anymore from the west

3.It is against our religion.
