Politics / Re: Where Are Those That Trekked For President Buhari? by FakoMaybach1: 11:49am On Jun 30, 2017
i have no qualms with the Hausa people that shouted sai baba, it is understandable they wanted power back to the North.
The people i feel like swearing for is the southerners that for one foolish sentiment or the other chose to back a tyrant, a dictator, an economic ninny, a misogynist that believes women should be in the kitchen, a chauvinist that doesnt shake women, a bigot and a religious fanatic.
Buhari is a colossal, monumental and humongous mistake; they should kowtow 5000 times to God for forgiveness

Well i heard he settled many of them with Npower, but he did not give them the tablets he promised them hence they cant come online

Abeg u guys should face the topic all this Afonja and Evans name calling is not only childish and unintelligent, it is also getting boring.

I am an Igbo man and truly i dont give a rat's ass about zik, i am even shocked to find out he has a movement. Like who the Fvck starts a movement for zik? maybe it is all these girl sororities.

Can anyone tell me the legacy zik left for the Igbos? Awolowo had free education, Ahmadu bello made sure the North consolidated power and agriculture...even university sef zik did not build on time, OAU, UI, ABU all came before University of Nigeria nsukka.

Omo after Jonathan for clueless-ness na zik be next in line o

Dear OP,
Please if there is a way to make this write up legible i will encourage you to use it.

This is a huge policy that will help Igbos a lot, Yam is one of our main crops and we are very prolific in yam cultivation.
The only downside is that hausa people also produce Yams and trust this useless government they will drop all the facilities in the North. If Audu can walk the talk and make Yam farming more profitable, the ripple effect go good.

OP not only is your headline a blatant lie, your translation has left out so many facts and decided to pick the ones u need for your sensational cause.

How i wish Osuofia could sue you for Libel with this your headline, Osuofia called for Intellectual discourse, he called for restructuring with peace, he only added that if after discussion we find that we as a nation cannot cohabit then Biafra can leave.

You have given sketchy translations and i find it distasteful, the agitation of Biafra should be based on truth, Justice and Equity; not lies or "Alternative facts"

Everything Osuofia said in this interview is what people have been echoing, we need to discuss on how to restructure Nigeria, let every region control its resources. Yes he bemoaned the security apparatus of the country shooting unarmed people, and he also said Biafra can cohabit. But this 13 minute interview which i listened from beginning to the end is not a call for Biafra as you put it.

@lalasticlala @mind44 please do something about this misleading headline.

On the interview, i also concur with Osuofia, it is time to take this agitation to an intellectual level. Any house of rep member or senator that does not buy into the cause should be recalled. I believe if Kogi people can recall dino then we can recall any senator that is playing the Ostrich in this obvious marginalization and humiliation meted out on Igbos by the Buhari administration.
As osuofia said which i agree, it is due to grievances that this call for Biafra is emanating, i mean how can it be that no security chief is an Igbo man; not even civil defense!!!. So if the security of the country is being discussed no Igbo man will be present Haba!!

Politics / Re: Facts Yoruba Has Been Marginalized, Not Igbo by FakoMaybach1: 9:33am On Jun 18, 2017
Dear OP;

Not only are you a poor student of history, you are a local man. The igbos did not fire the bullet that started the war, the Niger delta did.

Kaduna Nzeogwu is not an Igbo man, brother enlighten yourself.

You say Igbos muscled you out of spare part business; Baba Alaye if you want the spare part business come and collect it, but biko give us Glo that yoruba owns, Oando that yoruba owns, Fatgbems, conoil, etc that yoruba owns. You think Igbos are proud of selling spare parts? No we are not we want to be manufacturing spare parts and even the whole vehicle.

Oga OP you are a local man that hasnt traveled that is why you are filled with hate, Yorubas that have traveled are very cordial and they know that the southwest have it good in Nigeria.

I know every region in Nigeria is marginalized maybe except the Hausa/fulani cus na them dey do themselves, the yoruba nation can do better and they still have a lot of potential, but OP you cannot make your light shine brighter by snuffing out another person's candle.

Grow up son hate is like a flat tyre it will take u nowhere

Doublecheck:

If you chose to be rude I have ample dose for you and your insipid response.
You tried to deceive readers by making it look like your landlord was paid a penny when your father owed him fortunes, very deceitful of you most landlords would show such patience and understanding especially with students in a students environment like that.

Secondly, Ojukwu like many other Igbo's did not get all thier properties back only a few were lucky, you are simply deceived by what you read on Nairaland the Lagos state government and FG still use Ojukwu's property today as state and federal property, NPA building is one of them, Elephant building is another, many others I do not wish to mention cause I don't want to distract the purpose of this thread.

Then if you are familiar with Lagos and environs take a walk around surulere, lawason, Aguda, ojuelegba all the way to yaba, you will see buildings built in pairs numbered 31A/31B but go to those properties you will find out that A is owned by an Igbo man while B is owned by a Yoruba man who claimed B during the war, in fact one Igbo man recently won a case to reclaim his property after 50 years.

Ikwerre did not seize Igbo properties, Ijaws did, also Ikwerres might appear rude to Igbo cause the feel there is a Cold War against the Igbo's in Nigeria but they still maintain we are brothers though they now chose to maintain Ikwerre identity, which many Igbo's have accepted and personally I think it's a good step to ending the cold conflict between the Ikwerre and Igbo's not all Ikwerre have this issue.

Off course Yorubas are wonderful people nothing can change that and Yorubas and Igbo's do get along very well in Lagos and Nigeria that is outside the political scene anyways, but that is not to say we should misinform the public with over-bloat truths to create a false representation of reality, I was born in Aguda grew up in surulere, then Ajao estates and festac, and trust me you can't take away the fact that these are were you find the best Yoruba pals in Lagos have a lots of them, but i hate lies especially like the ones you tried to paint.

The Myopic i used there meant nearsightedness. It wasnt meant to insult you. If you feel any story is a lie then share your own. If you claim that no one from another tribe has touched your life positively, then we know who the liar is

Op while I appreciate your narrative and attempt at promoting peace you were a bit Economical with the truth and tried to portray some way beyond their supposed kindness and lied about a few things.

Well I will state just two so as not to outrighhtly criticize you or disturb the purpose of this thread.

1. About your landlord, You probably stayed in a one room or self con at the time your father paid your rent probably 10-15 years ago so the rent could not have exceeded 25-35k so paying 10k was not bad at all most landlords will appreciate that cause at all at all na him bad pass and considering the fact that some tenants must have been worse off.

2. I don't know about your family, but Igbo's did not run out of Lagos what most did was send their wives and kids back home, We sent my mom our sister and last born home our boys and the rest of us stayed and this was in Ajao estate a lot of Igbo's rocked Lagos then and made a lot of cash cause we started opening our show room on the 13 of June most of those Igbo who traveled were those domiciled in Yoruba dominated areas i remember many of such people coming to Ajao estate, festac, ago, isolo satellite, ajagbadi to settle with the Igbo brothers we too received many cousins then and it was fun we never felt more secured in our Lagos than that period.

Then again not one Igbo mans property was seized June 12 not even Ojukwu's i don't know where you got that from I believe you were mistaking it for the abandoned property saga after the civil war. Yorubas could not have sealed Igbo properties when Igbo's were still very much around and when the riots was very scanty with no intensity, just protest and burn fires.

The fact that all you stated were when you were young apart from your current clients non of these tribes have influenced you in recent times and did you no meet Benins and calabar dudes i think those are the realist guys in Lagos, they just go together like yam and oil with the Igbo's in Lagos .

Well your opinion was based on a myopic outlook...the issue here about my landlord is not the amount or the size of my home. The issue is the level of understanding and patience the man showed us.
Ask anyone Ojukwu got back his property in Lagos, Rivers state declared property as "Abandoned". Ikwerre Land owners are very brutal to Igbos but the Yoruba are not so.
I am not saying they are perfect, but you cannot tell me that the Hausa and the Yoruba do not have a good side. I appreciate them and i am grateful

now things have turned around for the better,

i planned to marry her, many women began to appear to me, some good ones, some bad ones. But no!

The woman that fought by my side is the one i wil die for and marry for the rest of my life,

Politics / A Message To My Hosts From An Igbo Man by FakoMaybach1: 6:41am On Jun 14, 2017
The truth is that a lot of negative and distorted stories have been flying around. People tend to exaggerate negative events and downplay the good ones.
I am in support of Biafra, the thought of a homogeneous nation, a people of similar origin, norm, laws, culture, religion and deposition to life is mouth watering; I don't think anyone will want to pass up such a chance. But lets get one thing straight the Yoruba and Hausa have been kind hosts to the best of their abilities.

I am using this opportunity to celebrate the acts of kindness i have received from the various tribes in Nigeria. Not all marriages break up because the husband is evil, sometimes couples have "Irreconcilable differences" and this is the case of Nigeria, we are too different and if nothing is done to address our grievances; then a breakup is inevitable.

I know for a fact that many of our Igbo heroes in the past in one time or another received a lot of help, training from other tribes in Nigeria. Ojukwu went to Kings college Lagos, Nnamdi Azikiwe's mentor Herbert Macaulay is a Yoruba man just to name a few. If you run a check into the lives of many Igbo people you will find out that some defining moments that shaped them to be better people were done by men/women from other tribes.

I will go ahead and give some true scenarios where other tribes have really affected my life positively and i will relay my gratitude. My aim is to be at peace with them, even if i leave we are still friends and if i stay i want them to know that i appreciate them a lot.

The Yoruba have been wonderful hosts i wont lie, a Yoruba man named Hakeem Ishola taught me how to drive. He was my mothers mechanic and i was quite young, he showed me the ropes on how to use the wheel and i am grateful to him

I attended a secondary school in Yoruba land named Kings college Lagos and my housemaster Mr Oguniyi was a kind and considerate man, who tried his best to raise gentlemen that will build a better society.

When i went for post ume at ABU Zaria a Hausa man named Bisan took me into his home not minding who i was. He showed me "Mi casa su casa" i will never forget his kindness for the cold weather of Kaduna can be unforgiving.

Now that i am working of my 6 biggest clients 4 of them are Yorubas, this is understandable as i work in Lagos; but i am still grateful to them for they could have called any other firm but they chose us regardless of our tribe.

My Landlord a Yoruba man was the most considerate man i ever knew, he never pressured my parents for rent and he took whatever they offered him. Though i was young then i did not understand but now i am a man i see that he is an angel, real men here know that an understanding Landlord that will even accept 10,000 when u tell him your condition is a saint. I am really grateful

The Yoruba nation taught me how to party like a rock-star, they taught me their language and they showed me that Life is only lived once and that philosophy calms me down when life gets taut. You have to give it to the Yoruba nation no one does parties like them and telling me that i have to take visa to do "Mo gbo mo ya" is like punishing me.

The Hausa nation is responsible for my salad and fruits, i know how their tomatoes, yam, carrots, onions, fura, kunu, burukutu, buruntashi has saved me on many occasions. Abokina nagode plenty albarika to you.

Yes i do name checking cus it is funny to me but i will not join the bandwagon of war mongers or hate message spreaders. I will not deny that the Yorubas have been fantastic hosts. After the june 12 elections when Igbos ran out of Lagos, the Yorubas did not convert our property, they told us to come back and even Ojukwu got back his houses in Lagos. Rivers state our neighbor there were not as kind, that shows that sometimes relationship is not by physical proximity.

I appreciate the Yorubas and i appreciate the Hausas, i call on other Nairalanders to share kind experiences they have had with people from other tribes. Enough of the hate, even if we are to break up it must not get ugly.
