ONCE UPON A COUNTRY

They have made all efforts to stop History as a subject so that critical information will be lost for ever. But before that happens, please consider the following:

Once upon a time, once upon a country:

1. In 1956 there was a country... whose first Mayor in a place called Enugu was a Fulani man by the name of Mallam Umaru Altine. He was not appointed but elected TWICE as Mayor.

2. There was a country which has a place called Port Harcourt. The people of Port Harcourt elected a man called Chief John Umolu (from Etsako in today's Edo State) to represent its municipality in the Eastern Region House of Assembly.

3. In 1959 there was a country, a country where when its Eastern House of Chiefs was constituted and a man named Mallam Umaru Yushau, the Sarkin Hausawa or Chief of the Hausas in Onitsha, was elected a member of the Eastern House of Chiefs.

4. In 1957 there was a country which has a city called Kano. Kano celebrated the appointment of one Felix Okonkwo, as a special member of the Northern House of Chiefs.

5. In 1950 in a place called Lagos Olorunimbe was the first Mayor of Lagos with Mbonu Ojike his deputy

6. In 1952 a man from Ogwashi Ukwu, by the name of Chike Ekwuiyasi represented Benin West in the Western House of Assembly

There was a country....What happened to that country?

To especially the young people who imagine Nigeria has always been a jungle where lawlessness and tribalism reign, it is not so.

We can have that country, that Nigeria back. IT IS POSSIBLE.

Getting married as a Virgin has been laced with so many lies and fictions. Unfortunately many bought into these lies and became confused when things are not working as they ought for them.

1. GETTING MARRIED AS A VIRGIN DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE SEXUALLY PURE.
The bible talk of purity of the body, the soul and the spirit , the body can be touched without tell tale marks, the soul can be so corrupted with evil imagination and the spirit not connected to God. Sexual purity goes beyond an intact hymen...what about the hymen of your mind?

....

6. [b]GETTING MARRIED AS A VIRGIN DOES NOT MEAN GOD WILL ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS IN

I don't know what to say to this your epistle. The only thing you have succeeded to do hi to set those who already on the downward slope of immorality to continue still

-You have pour a tanker of water on each of those who have decided to remain chaste till that special day.
-You have made those who, before now were sorrowful and remorseful for casting their pearl to the pig before the Time to be thinking ...'After all, it wasn't that bad as I thought', 'kini big deal?'.
While you may be thinking you have passed a deep word of advice, the wisdom, natural and spiritual, was evidently lacking because of the mixed audience.
This is not a kind of piece one jostle to throw out just because it might make a front page.

HealthWARNING: 5 Times That You Should Not Take Water. by farem(op): 9:27am On Apr 18, 2017
5 TIMES NOT TO DRINK WATER
While drinking water daily plays an important role in maintaining good health, believe it or not, there are several instances when NOT to drink water. The latest guidelines from the Institute of Medicine recommend that most women consume about 91 ounces—that’s about 9 cups of water a day. Men on the other hand need a bit more — about 125 ounces (or 13 cups) a day. Keep in mind, this count includes other beverages like coffee, tea and milk. So, when is it NOT the ideal time to chug water?

1. When you’ve already topped off.
If you drink too much water, you can deplete your body’s natural balance of salt. When your body becomes too low in sodium, *you can develop a condition called hyponatremia , or “water intoxication.”* When this happens, your water levels rise – in turn, causing your cells to swell. Fortunately, treating the condition can be as simple as keeping an eye on your water intake.

2. When your pee is crystal clear.
How do you know when you’ve had enough to drink (water that is)? Your urine will appear light yellow in color. *If your pee pee is crystal clear, experts suggest you may be overhydrated* Meanwhile, darker yellow shades suggest you’re not meeting daily recommendations.

3. You’ve got a ‘food baby.’
In other words, you had a bit too much to eat. In fact, *drinking too much water before or after a large meal can cause bloating and discomfort*
When you’re working out for a long period.

4. When you participate in intense exercise, for long periods of time, your body is depleted of crucial nutrients like potassium and sodium. Because water alone cannot replace these electrolytes, experts suggest opting for a drink like coconut water which is rich in magnesium, sodium, vitamin C and potassium, in addition to fiber.

5. When the water is loaded with sweeteners.
We get it: flavored water is more appealing. Unfortunately, the downside to chugging down on sugary sports drinks is that they rely on zero-calorie sweeteners which lead to increased hunger and often
weight gain .

≠==============
*Meanwhile, the best times to drink water are as follows:*

1. *After you rise and shine*
Drink one glass of water to JumpStart your internal organs and purge your body of any toxins before your first meal of the day.

2. *Before each meal*
Drink one glass of water 30 minutes before a meal to help digestion. *Remember not to drink too soon before or after a meal as the water will dilute the digestive juices* Drink water an hour after the meal to allow the body to absorb the nutrients.

3. *Before you slumber*
Drink one glass of water an hour before bedtime *to replenish any fluid loss that can occur during the night*

The Cover-Up You Won’t Believe
But that was only the first of a long line of attempts to cover up the truth about Easter. Over the centuries skeptics have concocted a number of theories to explain away the resurrection of Jesus. Here are seven of the most popular alternatives to the empty tomb.

Theory 1: Jesus didn’t die
Some skeptics have proposed that Jesus survived the crucifixion, swooned on the cross, revived in the tomb, came forth on Easter Sunday and fooled everyone into thinking he had risen from the dead.
Just to state the theory is to refute it. The whole purpose of crucifixion was brutal, agonizing death. No one could possibly survive beating, scourging, the torture of crucifixion, and being pierced by a spear. The Romans were good at killing people. It was one of their specialties. They knew the difference between a dead man and an unconscious man.
Besides, if Jesus did somehow revive after so much physical torture, how did he roll the stone away and then give the appearance of perfect physical health on Sunday morning? No, this theory makes no sense whatsoever.

Theory 2: The disciples stole the body
But why would they steal the body? All the gospel writers agree that they were not expecting a resurrection. When the women went to the tomb on Sunday, they were expecting to anoint a dead body, not meet their risen Lord.
Besides, how do you explain the amazing transformation of the disciples from insecure cowards to flaming evangelists? And why did they all go to their death proclaiming Jesus’ resurrection. Men might die for a myth they wrongly believed, but it is impossible to think that they would willingly go to their death for a lie.

Theory 3: The Jews stole the body
This is a plausible theory except for one tiny fact. If the Jews stole the body, then all they had to do when the Christians said that Jesus had risen from the dead was to roll out the dead body of Jesus. End of the story. Besides, why would the Jews steal the body? They wanted to keep Jesus in the grave at all costs.

Theory 4: The Romans stole the body
This makes no sense because the Romans weren’t worried about Jesus one way or the other. They weren’t worried about a missing body (like the Jews) and they weren’t mourning a dead leader (like the disciples). As far as they were concerned, Jesus was just another dead Jew. They had no reason to tamper with the body.

Theory 5: The body just disappeared
Fine, but what does that mean? I call this the UFO theory. Bodies don’t just disappear. Something had to happen to it. A disappearing body still doesn’t explain why the early Christians unanimously believed that Jesus had risen from the dead.

Theory 6: Mass hallucination
Well, then, perhaps the early Christians suffered some kind of mass psychosis that caused all of them to have visions or hallucinations that they mistook for the risen Christ. This is difficult to square with the facts as we know them and with the reality of human nature. Visions tend to be intensely personal events. Two people rarely have visions that are even remotely similar, much less identical. But Jesus appeared many times to many people over a 40-day period after his resurrection. At one point, he appeared to 500 people at once (see 1 Corinthians 15:5-7, which lists a number of post-resurrection appearances). Its strains credulity to believe that 500 people would have the same vision at the same time.
Plus, you still have the pesky fact of the body. If his resurrection was a vision, then what happened to the body? No one has ever satisfactorily answered that question.

Theory 7: Early church made up the story
This is the current position of most liberal scholarship. It seems to be the position of most members of the Jesus Seminar. It actually combines elements of several of the previous theories. But like all the others, it stumbles over several hard facts. First, what happened to the body? If it simply rotted in the grave or was eaten by wild dogs, surely the early Christians would have known of that fact. Or the Jews would have used it to debunk Christianity. And why would the disciples suffer and die for a lie? And how do you explain the unanimous testimony that Jesus rose from the dead? It takes far more faith to believe this theory than it does to believe the straightforward testimony of the four gospels.

The Empty Tomb
The skeptics have never been able to explain the following fact:

-When Mary arrived on Sunday morning, the tomb was empty.

-When Peter and John arrived, the tomb was empty.

-When the other disciples found the tomb, it was empty.
-When the Jews inspected the tomb, it was empty.

-When the Roman soldiers woke up, it was empty.

*No one has ever disputed that fact.*

Think about the following:

1. Within a few weeks of the Crucifixion, the disciples were publicly preaching that Jesus had risen from the dead. If they had been lying or hallucinating, all the authorities would have to do is simply go to the tomb and drag out the dead body of Jesus. As Peter Lewis points out, they could have nailed the dead body on the city wall and that would be the end of the Christian movement. *But they could not do it because the tomb was empty and the body was gone.*

2. They had no answer to the preaching of the apostles. *The silence of the Jew(ish Authority) is as eloquent as the speech of the Christians*
Christianity EtcWhy Can't Conservative Muslims Use Camels For Pilgrimage - Emir Sanusi by farem(op): 9:38pm On Apr 12, 2017
The vociferous progressive muslim, Emir Of Kano and Former CBN Governor, Lamido Sanusi has yet again sought to speak meaning and reason into his conservative and seemingly intellectually disadvantaged northern brothers and sisters, charging them to learn from the commercially minded and productive Igbo people as well as other progressive southern tribes that have set the pace of development in the country and apparently left them (the north) behind.
He wrote on his Instagram page:
"I choose to fight for the progress of Nigerians and suggest solutions to their problems. It's my duty to speak the truth about the ill-effects of conservative Muslims who are harming Islam rather than helping it. I condemned their refusal to expand their knowledge outside their own religion and failure to realise that knowledge is power.
I also correctly concluded denying the right to pursue scientific and technological knowledge and restricting people to Islamic knowledge is the best means of ensuring that Muslims in Northern Nigeria will be remain economically backward. I'm upset at the legion of beggars on the streets and is trying to bridge the gap between the backward North and the Southern parts of the nation.
I still believe that conservative Muslims are still stuck in the 13th Century and their claim that children need no other knowledge than Islamic studies flies in the face of reality. All the poverty, under-development and immense suffering in the North are a result of uneducated masses refusing to learn work or a trade.
The majority of technicians in Kano are from the South while untrained indigenes beg. How does that make sense? Why is it that conservative Muslims who claim to be against scientific progress enter aeroplanes and fly to perform the Hajj in Mecca rather than using camels to cross the desert! Why do they watch sermons beamed by TV live from Mecca and read the Holy Quaran on their laptops yet profess to abhor modern technology? I'd like to point out that there is no harm in copying from the West if it brings succour to the masses of poverty stricken Muslims in Northern Nigeria.
After all Saudi Arabia, the "home" of Islam is known for its highly-rated airline, modern hospitals, indigenous oil industry and space program all of which make it a world leader. In our backward nation, we insist on denying the truth. Unless Northern political leaders like Governor Yari pay attention to me, there will never be a day when anywhere in the North will be like the modern Muslim cities of Kuala Lumpar, Istanbul, Jakarta, Lahore, Greater Cairo, Dacca, Karachi, Dubai, Riyadh or Faisalabad"

Good stuff from CU. I know the university also set aside another $10 million dollars to recruit international staff. I hope people understand that this cash is coming from the living faith church and not covenant university. The living faith church is really spending a lot of cash on CU this year.
The church has also budgeted another 1.6 billion for CU this year alone and that is why I laugh when someone says the church is making profit from CU.

In 2013 the church built a senate building worth 353 million naira and then 2016 the research center should be around 600 million naira but the most important thing is what they are doing now-funding research to top notch and recruiting best staff. Hopefully we would rank top five in Africa(times) by the end of this year. Thank u TheVictorious for tagging me.

By the way globalisation means solving a local problem with a global resonance.

PoliticsPDP On Death Row, APC Gasping For Breath – Osinbajo by farem(op): 5:04pm On Apr 11, 2017
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has declared that the People Democratic Party, PDP, is on death row while his party, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is gasping for breath.

The Vice President spoke yesterday at the National Conference on Political Party Supremacy and the Dynamics of Parliamentary Autonomy put together by the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, in Abuja.

Osinbajo was represented by the Special Adviser to the President on Political matters, Babafemi Ojudu.

He tasked the institute to go into research and see how Nigeria can begin to build very strong political parties.

The VP said, “Today, we cannot talk of strong parties in Nigeria. The PDP is on death row, the APC is gasping for breath, therefore, it is very important that in building our party we must also look out for leaders that can work assiduously to mobilise people, leaders with conviction, leaders who are independent, leaders who are courageous, leaders who have capacity, and leaders who are disciplinarian.

“If we have these leaders and we appoint them to lead our parties both at national level and at the local level, we can be talking of political parties that will deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.”

Osinbajo added, “Concern should be directed at strengthening the political parties as things stand today our political parties are very weak.”

He also disagreed with former Senate President, Ken Nnamani who stated that people have right under the constitution to move from one political party to the other.

Osinbajo said, “If we keep jumping from one party to the other there will be no way we are going to strengthen the existing ones.

“People should be able to stay in their political party, work at strengthening them and ensure that it even becomes a family culture whereby my son, my grand son, great-grand son will know themselves.”

I'm a little worried that what you've done here is create an unnecessary competition amongst the pastors...and their congregants.
You can cause the pastors mentioned to be tempted to become full of pride, arrogant or haughty.
Then the congregants will come on NL to agree or disagree...and thus strife has begun.
The Word shouldn't be a competition.
Be careful of using the world's method to make a point that you've been blessed by these particular pastors.

Just so you know, I do not know any of these pastors. I don't have any religious stake in Nigeria that way. I don't live there....never have.
I have been extremely blessed by the messages of the last pastor mentioned. I didn't know who he was while I had been reading some messages of which I later found out he had written. But once I did find out, nothing changed. I won't worship the man. If his writings lead me to further study the Word, then he has done his job.

Be blessed smiley
