Just say you will lock down again, it is clear that Nigerians don't want to follow the guidelines.

All the people who assumed that face mask usage, hand washing and social distancing will be followed were simply deceiving themselves.

We must learn to treat animals rightly actually. I think Nairaland has a bias against animals. They like to show dead animals. Many here have not seen or observed this animal before and will never get a chance to. I eat cows and chicken; but we rear them. We shouldn't go out of our ways to be hostile to animals and sadly this platform promotes that culture. People go in search of animals to maim and murder so they can be on nairaland front-page. Disgraceful actually.

Nigerians are still thinking with their stomach. Their own concern is to just kill and eat anything that moves, damn the consequences. The same killing and eating lead to HIV and covid-19. If you try to tell them about the consequences of recklessly slaughtered essential wildlife they will insult you. If you try to tell them the dangers of eating wild animals they call you jealous or say there is hunger in the land. The same hungry people will buy data to post and beer to drink with the animal they just killed. We behave this way yet still wonder why the rest of the world thinks we are backwards.

Now let me be clear that I don't have a problem with hunting wild pigs or cattle like animals. It's the eating of snakes, lizards, turtles and primates.

Search of quick money or welfare. There's this false perception that people in Europe pick money off the ground. Sure the standard of living is much better than in Africa but it's no paradise, especially to outsiders. Truth is that Africans with needed skills or enough money don't need to go through these channels.

So here is how I interpret this.

1) Stupid Nigerian Leaders borrow money from foreign imperial institutions to fund recurrent expenditure, most of which is stolen anyway which then ends up in foreign accounts,

2) Stupid Nigerian Leaders accumulate so much debt on the Nation's behalf and since they are more interested in politics, less interested in doing the real work which ofcourse will involve telling people the truth, fighting corruption, drastically reducing recurrent expenditure and balancing the budget,

3) So because Stupid Nigerian Leaders cannot do all listed in #2 despite promising during campaigns to do same, Stupid Nigerian Leaders then have no choice but to go beg for things such as face mask, ventilators and debt forgiveness in a pandemic such as this. Please keep in mind, we are still in the earliest timeline of the pandemic and they are already begging like the cowards that they are. Misrepresenting us both inside and outside the country and you wonder why we are being treated as degenerate slaves in countries such as india and china.

I weep for this country but most of all I weep for the black race.

Colonialism never ended, the perpetrators just changed skin colour.

After begging you will still turn around to borrow, rather than save money from oil revenues to generate alternative sources of income.
