Do you not know that civilians play vital roles in conflicts such as this? That is in terms of intelligence and information that could have saved the lives of many soldiers if the military built good relationship with them? Ambushes could be avoided. Civilians could even help stranded troops to melt into civilian population by hiding them when facing threats. But if the army is known to delight in brutalizing their own citizens, that's when the empathy vaporizes even when they are killed. How many countries do you see citizens not care that their soldiers are dying? The military has to really work on their relationship with the civilians or it could only get worse.
