MayorOfEdmonton: Study harder this time...and take the test only when you are convinced you are well prepared. One way to know is when u start getting 37-40/40 in ur reading & listening practice tests. Usually u will get that range in the actual test too. Which materials did u prepare with in ur 1st exam? Also attend masterclasses if u feel u may need it too, anything that let's u score higher now that u have age on ur side. Have u evaluated ur masters? If no u sud start the process while preparing to rewrite. Cheers
How about writing and speaking please? |

Your best bet is to look for how to increase your CRS to acceptable levels. PNP is not guaranteed but with the requisite hard work and time, you can work your way up to the required level of CRS. I know a 40 year old man that went to learn French and boosted his CRS to 470. He got his PPR last year.
You need to look at things like what is your highest educational qualification? If you have only B.Sc, go get a Masters (extra 39 points) or additional certificate eg CIMA, ACCA, PGD etc (extra 32 points). Have you maxed IELTS?( I strongly doubt), you can aim for that and collect your bonus 50 points under adaptability. How old are you? Are you married? Is your spouse younger? (they could be the PA) Can you learn French? (why not, if you are determined).
Above all simulate your scores in each scenario and see the prospects and work towards it. Indians have finished giving IELTS since and are now busy giving TEF and collecting all the ITA slots.

Hi Webmasters,
I have wanted to ask this question for a long time.
Why is it that there is no privacy protect for .com.ng or .ng domains? This is a service that is available for all other TLDs but why is it not available for Nigerians to use for .com.ng?
Any answers will help. |

ans123: For those that received ITA yesterday, ensure you cross your "i"s and dot your "t"s (porn intended)before clicking that submit button . Get a second eye to proof read your application. I recommend that after filling everything you take a day or two to turn it in your head what you have filled before going ahead to submit.Avoid attaching files in the wrong placeholder, remember one file per placeholder combined in PDF.
For couple's application, each person is allocated his/her placeholder for attaching their documents
Save documents as i.e PA education (which contains ielts,wes,college/university degrees/diploma) in a single PDF, Spouse education. PA medical, Spouse medical etc
After filling out all sections screen grab and save for reference. Use LOE where necessary to clarify gray areas Don't forget KISS. Keep It Short and Simple. Remember no two application are exactly alike, so follow what works best for you.
Lastly pray and pray. Best wishes & good luck . . 1 Like 1 Share |

Final and most important step: Pray against Accra, or get involved in something (school, new business venture etc) that even if you land in Accra, it won't affect you that much.
please help clarify. I have been hearing alot about this Accra. I only Accra as the capital of Ghana. What does it have to do with EE? |

joselekas:
1. You need to first decide which mode you want to take. I did it twice. The first attempt was Computer-Delivered (CD) in November 2019 with British Council and I had: L 7, R 6, W 7.5, and S 8. My choice of CD was the inherent advantages it has with Writing. The Writing part was a walk in the park as I didn't have to worry about corrections and insertions. I got my desired band score in Writing and Speaking but the first two sections, Listening and Reading, were affected. Reading, in my opinion, is difficult with CD. However, I have seen some band 9 results in CD Reading. So I could be wrong with that opinion or maybe the Reading of that day was disproportionately hard.
The second IELTS was 20th of June (the results came in last Friday). I did Paper-Based at IDP and I had: L 8, R 7.5, W 7.5, and S 7.5. I struggled during the Writing part to finish the essay. It was a race against time and I was scared I could get 6.5.
My advise: go for Paper-Based.
2. British Council or IDP? I read somewhere that IDP examiners are more lenient with their Writing rubrics. I can't confirm or deny that but what I can say is that my Writing with British Council last November was way better than the one I did last month with IDP and both results came back with band 7.5. I leave you to make your decision on that.
3. On preparation Nothing can substitute to doing a thorough preparation. You don't want to go there and disgrace yourself. It doesn't matter what level your of English is, you have to prepare for this one. Get Cambridge study pack and practice like you are sitting for the real exam. You can download on the Internet for free if you look carefully - if you have any problem with this let me know. It is invaluable for your Listening and Reading section and whatever you are getting is a reflection of what you will eventually get. So be sure you are hitting your band whilst preparing before registering for the examination. Review the questions you missed and you will begin to see patterns and your score should improve. If your score is not improving in Listening, take a break and download Podcasts especially dialogue. With Reading you can read books and novels. Speed is important in Reading.
On Writing, Jay and Liz videos are on Youtube for free and if you can afford their premium content go for it. You also need to practice writing. Write as much as you can. Join IELTS Mooc group on Facebook and post your writings for people to help you review. It will help!
On Speaking, get someone to drill you with the questions on the Cambridge Study Pack. If you can treat the questions there you should not have any problem with Speaking. Check out videos of Jay and Liz on Speaking too.
Ire ooo. Nice thanks for this. Can you share the download link for the cambridge study pack? 2 Likes 1 Share |

MaziObiagu1: eeeh lemme respond to this real quick. I don’t know if it’s the same with IELTS British Council tho, but REMARKING WORKS! It has worked very well for me.
I wrote my first IELTS: 8.5,8.5,7.5,6.5 respectively. 6.5 for writing. For the second exam, I concentrated on the writing and still got 6.5 in writing!!! I knew what I wrote. I was literally devastated. I applied for remarking and my 6.5 was changed to an 8! 1.5 bands were added! My speaking also moved half band from 7-7.5. So I had 8,8,7.5,8 on the second try and that’s what I needed. My 15k was refunded. I didn’t even care! I was more than happy to get my 8.
Yes my case is an exemplification of grace cos me sef no expect to see band 8. But this is how it works. Generally, you can get half or one band when we apply for remarking. This applies to Speaking and Writing only cos the examiner uses your language production to access your level of English Language proficiency. So it allows for a bit of DISCRETION. But when it comes to reading and listening, it’s like OBJ. It’s either you get it right or you don’t. No discretion.
So if you are looking for a half band or one band in WRITING OR SPEAKING, please ask for a remark. |

Also please does anyone has confirmation if WES has started accepting hard copy transcript now. Hi everyone, Kindly advise. MOD Idp. Paper based Test date 13/06/2020 Yaba, Lagos
Listening 8.5 Reading. 8.5 Writing 7.5 Speaking 8
I initially booked same test date (13/06) on the 23rd of May. I was hoping to pay that week but for one or two reasons I couldn't. Well, I thought like BC do (or used to do) they will cancel the booking after 5days if payment wasn't made.
So on the 6th of June I booked again. This time for 20th June so I cld have enough time to prepare since I stopped reading after I couldn't pay for the initial 13th june booking. I paid same day, only for me to get an email the following day (7th) confirming my booking for 13th. I went "wtf!!!. I re-booked and paid for 20th, my 13th booking shoulda expired!!...I haven't read shit...help!!...lmao".
Well, thanks to prayers, Liz's and Jay's youtube videos for speaking and writing, I maxed it. I practised listening and reading using some cambridge sample abi na past questions wey de get volume 1 to 14. I did the 5 most recent volumes though.
To anyone about to write, it's possible to do it in one sitting. The exam is technical not difficult. There are strategies. Find them, follow them. Well done. 1 Like |

Well, the one I eventually passed, I prepared for it in one day, although I had prepared for and written the previous one less than two weeks prior to that time.I would say do your best, practice with Cambridge and https://ieltsonlinetests.com do the recent actual test for reading and listening. I think their listening are quite fast so it will train you to listen closer. For writing, you can contact Johnnybravo or Blissneye or Wasseynet or any of the verified writing tutors here. Some have a fee, others do for the love of God. In all, its not the length of time you take to practice. It's really about training your ears to listen attentively. I must tell you, luck is a big factor in passing this exam so pray you are lucky. All the best. Thanks. 1 Like |

Mamaroon:
I'm not sure I understood the details, but....
When you submit your application eAPR:
A) For Work experience - list your work experience for the NOC that you are claiming points form B) For Personal History - list ALL you have been doing for the past 10 years (education, work, unemployed, directorships, volunteer etc).
Docs to be submitted - reference letter from employer(s) for work experience you are claiming points for with job description that matches your primary NOC i.e. A) above. If you say you have 3 years experience, then attach letters from as many employers that will account for the 3 years.
If you are ok, points wise without the bank employer reference letter, good, just put it in personal history. |

ThowLou: Good Morning Everyone, putting this info out for pre-ECA candidates with a degree from Unilag that they want to evaluate. I hope this information helps, you can PM me if you need further clarifications.
PS/Disclaimer: I do not work in Unilag and this is only based on my personal experience when I was in the ECA process.
As far as I know, Unilag does not engage the services of ETX-NG so you have to apply for your transcript via the records portal- records.unilag.edu.ng
* Click on new application/track applications * Tick the box for the program you wish to evaluate and select unique destination * Document Type is Transcript * Destination is North American Countries * Dispatch method is courier service (private) * Enter WES Address * Click on proceed and pay online
If you have a contact, follow up with prayers and supplication for speedy processing
If you are yet to receive your certificate from Unilag, follow the steps above and repeat steps but request for your statement of result to be sent to your address. It’s this SOR that will be sent to WES in place of your certificate. This is important because WES will only complete your ECA when they verify your SOR and transcript from the University of Lagos
It’s also important to note that even if you pay for courier for your SOR, you’ll need to pick it up yourself as the courier fee is a joke to Unilag, they will not send your result via courier to you.
Also remember to be prayerful cos Unilag can give you serious headache during the wait period but with God everything is possible.
God who did for everyone here will complete yours too and we will all testify. God bless you for this info. What I have been looking for. |
