PoliticsRe: Massob Members Protest In Onitsha by Fathai(m): 4:12pm On May 15, 2013
DailyNews: dear mr mekaboy, what they are doing is called: peaceful demonstration and it is allowed, or would you prefer if they go about killing innocent non-igbos to show they want freedomhuh

I wonder why south-westerners hate south-easterners. You don't like them, you want them to leave your lands (lagos, etc) and yet when they make move to go and live on their own, you still cry fowl, doesn't that show hypocrisyhuh

Why not accept the truth that you love Igbos and you really can't do without them and show them some true lovehuh

Honestly, any day south-westerners or northerners wake up and say they want to go and become their own country, I am certain Igbos would celebrate it and even give them aids to fasten their departure, but when igbo people make attempt to stay on their own, yorubas and hausas will start cursing them, and still you don't like them.

For instance, if I don't like you, I wouldn't want to live under the same roof with you, but hausas and yorubas clearly don't like Igbos but they still don't want igbos to go, whyhuh Crude oilhuh Pls the crude oil is no longer in the hands of the Igbos....

You guys should either accept the Igbos, stop killing them at any slightest national disagreement or let them go and be on their own, is it too much to do plshuh

And to those shouting: they lost the war, pls go and read history well. Biafra may have lost the war because Britain and America and other super powers were in support of Nigeria because they saw that Biafra had the great capacity to become an industrialised nation with powerful technology and economy if it did survived, so there was a secret arrangement to ensure Biafra lost the war.

Only Israel supported Biafra. Russia wanted Ojukwu to sign a doc to warrant them mine our crude oil for decades in order to help Biafra win the war but Ojukwu refused because to him, it was enslavement of Biafrans and betrayal, and again, he saw victory, and of course Biafra almost won the war- they were close to Shagamu to take over Lagos the seat of government, so as to end the war fast...but, but...

And who said Biafra doesn't deserve some respect- a small region waged 2 year plus bloody war against the entire Nigerian nation with foreign power supportshuh

Biafra single-handedly built their own armored tanks, rocket propelled bombs and missiles, local guns and other smart technologies that posed a big threat to the national forces and their foreign allies to the extent a BBC reporter came to Aba and shouted: Gracias!!!! Biafrans have built their own armored tank mounted by women!!! British people couldn't believe a black man could have such amazing sense.

Go to Awka and Nnewi and see pure technology. Pls let's let the sleeping dog lie...people should respect themselves even though I know that most people that shout and curse Biafra here are teenage boys who know nothing about war and life in general.

And again for your own exclusive info, OPC had been having their secret meetings here in Lagos....the other day, they almost smashed my car in their usual garagara after one of their usual meetings, and some of them were even shooting in the air, so why the noise that MASSOB had a peaceful demonstrationhuh
biafra will always come close...but they wil do notin...were u der when dey wer creating all wht u counted...countinue dreaming.

PoliticsRe: Corruption Is Massive Under Jonathan – US by Fathai(m): 8:03am On Apr 23, 2013
[quote author=Sincere 9gerian]Another BASELESS report from the US. The fact that the west has suddenly become very critical of the federal govt should raise the suspicion of every patriotic Nigerian. The US have been firing from all cylinders of recent. What are they up to? Does the US mean well for Nigeria? Is this all about the PIB and oil multinationals?

Yes, Nigeria has a problem with corruption and it is the RESPONSIBILITY of every Nigerian and the govt to solve this problem. We do not need a saintly sermon from US before we know we need to get to work to solve the problem of corruption. After all the US is not immune from corruption. Who has been preaching to the US on the need to stop immoralities like gay marriages and homosexuality?

Lets take some quotes from the BASELESS report and puncture them.

"Police corruption remained rampant. Reports of checkpoint bribery and shooting incidents decreased in February after newly appointed Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar announced the closure of all police checkpoints across the country; however, illegal checkpoints remained common in some regions. Police routinely stopped drivers who did not commit traffic infractions, refusing to allow them to continue until they paid bribes,”

This is like speaking from both sides of the mouth. The closure of unnecessary police check points across the country was an action taken by the govt to curb corrupt practices among police officers. Unfortunately, that action has to be balanced with the need to also check insecurity. Not all police check points are "illegal" as stated in the report. Even if the target of completly eradicating illegal police check points have not been achieved, PROGRESS has been made. If one takes a trip all the way from Enugu to Rivers in day time, you'll hardly see police check points (except inter-state check points). But if the journey is done in the evening or night, one would see several check points. I dont know whether these check points are legal or illegal but for someone travelling at night, its a kind of reassurance that the road is safe.

Again, if the govt has banned illegal police check points, it is the responsibility of citizens to report any check point that is nuisance.

"the US government listed the escape of the suspected mastermind of the Boko Haram 2011 Christmas Day bombing from custody, noting how the police commissioner, who aided the suspect went unpunished"

Yes, Kabiru Sokoto escaped. But he was later captured. The police officer, whose negligence led to his escape was dismissed. I recall the case was investigated by the Police Service Commission which later announced his dismissal. Can someone who was dismissed be said to have gone "unpunished"? Some of us expected more punishment and prosecution but the Police Service Commission is an institution set up by law and it is safe to assume they took the RIGHT decision according to rules and law governing the police. There's no point playing to gallery.

"former Delta State governor James Ibori in the Southwark Crown Court in London of charges of money laundering and other financialcrimes totaling N12.4bn, after he was acquitted by a Nigerian court"

It was unfortunate that Ibori was acquitted by a Nigeria court but that happened under previous regime. Again, the Judiciary is a SEPARATE arm of govt. Fortunately, the new Chief Justice of the Federation is taking steps to curb the impunity in the Judiciary. Recently, 3 Justices were sacked. About 14 Justices or so are currently being investigated by the National Judicial Council.

"and the N1.067trn fuel subsidy fund lost to “endemic corruption and entrenched inefficiency”

The planned removal of fuel subsidy would have put a final stop to the corruption in the scheme. Unfortunately, the fuel subsidy was only partially removed. Those who abused the system are currently undergoing prosecution.

"In late July, the EFCC began arraigning suspects, first with a group of 20 indictments, including six oil companies and 11 individuals. By year’s end, the EFCC initiated prosecutions of approximately 50 cases related to the subsidy scam. The majority of these cases involved companies and individuals who had fraudulently received subsidy revenue. Investigations and trials had not produced any convictions by year’s end.”

The executive has done its part by bringing the suspected subsidy thieves to court. The rest is for the JUDICIARY.

"It decried frequent abduction of civilians and lack of press freedom, highlighting cases, where journalists were harassed and beaten up"

Which journalist was beaten up this year? It is very uncommon in Nigeria of recent. I can only remember one incident in Lagos. To use this as proof of "MASSIVE CORRUPTION" is ridiculous.

In conclusion, the report is BASELESS. The instances given to support "MASSIVE CORRUPTION"..yhu are a big fool...for writing dis nonsence.

ujchief: I think I can authoritatively speak on behalf of Mazi, having co-authored the previous work. . .

I belief you didn't read the first work in details, some of the girls with mazi now were previously met at the camp, where he described the perfectly.
He described Oge as being short with a nice shape and big bossoms. In his words, "what she lacked in height, she made up with in shape.

Esther was described the first time they met at the camp kitchen where she commented on his meal ticket being almost empty as he skipped.

Chifawu was also described as elegant with a 'churcheous' dressing: na make up etc. He described her the first time they met at the RCCF fellowship where she was an usher.

The hostel at camp was described vividly, with illustrative words as being crowded, the bunks and lockers/wardrobe and so on.

And so on. . .

There are lots of underlying messages in this work and I don't believe mazi will dedicate full episodes describing his room or Nina: how many girls is he going to describe? And will you be willing to read a full episode that just contained the description of a room?
This is what makes this work unique, it is smooth to read and easy to comprehend.

Finally, in the words of Chinua Achebe, ". . .write your own."

Mazi is an engineer and has work he does. Having the time to write and upload together with his work is something thrilling.

In the words of Mazi, "thanks for following."

dauda birmah: I understand what you are going thru my friend the problame with nigeria is nigerians we don't support ours rather wwe continue applauding dos countries there iis progress in nigeria look at the development we have now @ 52 years,e keep compearing ourself to the us whicch gained independence nearly 200 yers ago corruption has hindered the
development of all the sectors of
the nation’s economy. The problem
of corruption is responsible for
the decay in education, the level
of unemployment and general
poverty in the country. We must
fight this monster which has
created unemployment.
All our money
is going to
foreign banks
and is being
held hostage
there. If you
bring all that
money here it
will go a long
way in reducing
the level of
poverty. The
economy was
far better in
the Abacha
days. His
regime was not
a bad
government
contrary to
what some
people were
saying after
his death, they started to invent
lies against him.
At his death, we had $8, 9 billion
as foreign reserves, but the
regime that succeeded him handed
over $3.4 billion. In his days, it
was N78 to a dollar, but he was
targeting N62 per dollar before
he died. How much is it today?
Even the money they recovered
after Abacha’s death where did
they keep it. It is the same
corruption. We must be sincere in
the fight against corruption. The
EFCC and other related agencies
must show more commitment. If
you fight corruption in the day,
and sleep with corruption at night,
that is not fighting corruption
my oga at the top av said it all....a word is enough for the wise.....OBASANJO...is d main oga at the top of corruption...he started it first.

What stops igbos from mustering their financial strength and do a 3 to 5 year plan of Divesting their Businesses from Lagos state.

The Importation Business would take place from Ibaka port and the new port in Bayelsa.
The Telecommunication Businesses will be Divested and new Companies founded in the East with New transatlantic optic fiber laid.
Banks owned and affiliated to igbos Relocate/move their Headquarters to the east.
The Real Estate owned by Igbos and Niger Deltans should be put up for sale and better structures put up in the East
All Oil and Gas Drilling Business and oil servicing Businesses owned by SE/SS should relocate within the 5 year plan to the East.
While the one not owned by Easterner would be made to pay very heavy Annual registration fees.
The Oil Companies not owned by SE/SS would also be made to pay very heavy fines to sort out Environmental Degradation and at the slight of any Oil Spillage the companies should be closed down and until the owners pay a heavy fine of $16B.
All fights to and fro the Major Destinations in the World will originate and terminate from any of the international Airports in the east
