Ok since you are looking to secure an Mpower sponsorship, Just to clarify University of Saskatchewan does require a non refundable tuition deposit, you can only pay for tuition after you have registered for courses. Prepayment options are also available, whereby you pay some certain amount to the school for Visa purposes and they are all refundable.

For your choice of course just put in for an MSc Agric it's a direct match with your academic background, and evidence of reasonable career progression, also depending on what suits your need though

Sure you can keep up with your business even while in Canada, and this will definitely serve as a home tide. Also do well to expatiate on this to strengthen your application by providing all the necessary documents as backings too.

All the best!

It'll end in praise for us all!

skentelelady:

Amen. Thank you for your detailed response. Since I am looking at Mpower for sponsorship, Uni of Sask isnt on their list. Then their non refundable tuition deposit scared me away.

Please advise on this.

I have seen 2 courses in another Uni which MBA/MAgric in business analytics and MSc Agric. Both are 2 years in one of Mpower universities.

My question is since I am a business woman who's into agro, which would you suggest out of the 2 please? My plan is to keep on with the business even when I am in Canada. Or do you think @ bolded may complicate things?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Fativivimat: 2:45pm On Aug 06, 2022
Hello skentelelady,
Looking at your academic background in agric sci and work experience in an agro allied business, I'll strongly advise you go for an Msc in Agric sci since it's a direct match with your previous degree depending on your grade. This will save you a lot of stress and strengthen your application based on purpose of visit, you wouldn't want your application to suffer any setback based on an issue that can be avoided.

You can check out University of Saskatchewan course Agricultural Economics which cut across your stated academic background and work experience
https://grad.usask.ca/programs/agricultural-economics.php#Applicationprocess

Just an advise though!

It'll end in praise for us all!

All the best!

skentelelady:
please gurus help me to look into my case of study

I studied agric sci as my 1st degree. i worked for 10 years as administrator and manager . In the last 5 years i have been in agro allied business which involves exportation to overseas. I buy food crops from local farmers in different communnies in Nigeria, sell with my state and country as well as export.

i want to do masters now. I am looking at Msc in Agric science and MSc in International management in business analytic. Please which one would you advise i apply for based on my work experience.

Thank you for your quick response

You can try and send a mail to your course graduate coordinator or Dean for Graduate studies and explain things to them. You can also explain that affording another Application fee incase you must have made any payment might affect some of your travelling plans and also emphasize why IRCC kept mute even when you sent them emails. They should be able to reconsider. Fire all your lecturers emails... It makes no sense them telling you to reapply again, will your admission be guaranteed? What's the name of this school sef?

All the best!

From what you just stated it's like the major weak of your application is your choice of program. I will strongly advise you go for a Graduate course related to Environmental Management to save you all these stress. Since I am not aware of your Bsc grade you can opt for Masters if you've a 2:1.

You can also check out this link for a related course in University of Saskatchewan

https://grad.usask.ca/programs/environment-sustainability.php#Program

There's Royal Roads Universitybhere too as well https://www.royalroads.ca/programs/master-science-environment-and-management?gclid=Cj0KCQjwuaiXBhCCARIsAKZLt3my37nRSAC91wMtT6unV4Uf_r-FOVJXn25LWQ5-CKQGNUtVm6rCKWkaAvnlEALw_wcB

All the best.

Greenwisher:
Hello
I need some help here

Refusal Reason: Purpose of visit
Program studied: Environmental Management
Occupation: Bakery Manager and Supervisor
Intended program: Occupational health, wellness and safety

GCMS
The study plan does not appear reasonable given the applicant's employment and education history.
I note that:
-the client's previous studies were in an unrelated field
-the client has previous studies at a higher academic level than the proposed studies in Canada
-the client's proposed studies are not reasonable given their career path

Re-applying...
I got an admission offer from UCW but 45k CAD lo far plus reviews regarding their refund policy is not encouraging.
So I am considering the PACE(Advanced Business Management) post-grad certificate program at the University of Winnipeg
My concern is the academic progression issue raised by the VO

In addition to what @bullstriker has stated
you can also draw out a family tree showing how you all are related to each other especially noting how they are directly linked to the family.

Having necessary documents like marriage certificates and birth certificates including affidavit of support, letter of employment, letter of sponsorship (Stating how much they'll be setting out to support you despite having dependents and also how you have been of help to them in the past), pay slips, family property documents if any will also go a long way to fix any issue that might arise.

Also ensure you write an exceptional and well detailed SOP as well don't leave any stone unturned.

All the best!

We are all on this journey together still waiting on IRCC. #May19applicant

Good afternoon All,

My application was submitted May 19th and I’m still waiting for a response from IRCC. I’d like to order GCMS notes to ascertain the current status of my application. However, I’m confused. I used an immigration lawyer (she submitted the application as my representative) and I would like to find out if personally ordering my GCMS notes affects my application in any way.

IamTheJ:
Honorable Nairalanders,

I have finally confirmed It's not a dream; it's real. It's PPR!!!!

Got a email notification from IRCC around 9:30 am on June 27 to check my mail for a message. Without delay and with my inner eyes raised to, and fixed on, he who lives in the highest heavens, I logged in to my portal. I scrolled up slowly as I didn't want to rush it. I saw "You have 2 messages" on my dashboard, my shaky heart was strengthened a bit because, from what I have noticed from people's posts on Nairaland, PPR often comes with it's twin brother, BVL. Yet I continued scrolling up in slow motion; lo and behold, it was PPR and its twin brother. Then I glanced at the "Final decision" section and saw "Your application was approved...". Guys! Only heaven could say how large my heart dilated in joy.

I needed to take the whole day to be sure I wasn't seeing a vision or having a daydream, and share with families and friends.

Further below you'll find my timeline. But before that, it may interest you to know that my application is quite unusual. And since I joined Nairaland, I haven't seen any one similar.

To give you an idea:

1) FIRST TIME APPLICANT

2) DID EVERYTHING MYSELF WITHOUT MUCH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE (submitted my application just about amonth after joining Nairaland)

3) 38 years old with very little or no secular work experience (there's a reason for that, though). Single, but not searching yet. lol!

4) Currently not working (though was doing an online course that is not even related to my prospective program - Philosophy)

5) As a logical follow-up of no.4, NO FINANCIAL/PERSONAL ASSETS declared ( there's a reason, though). Didn't submit any personal Bank statement; just my sponsor's. (People are refused visa on the basis of lack of financial/personal assets. But I got approval even without any; what God cannot do does not exist).

6) SPONSORED BY A MATERNAL UNCLE (Mum's immediate younger brother) living and working in the US as a medical doctor. (Third-party sponsored applications get up to 95 - 98% refusal; practically all approvals I've seen on Nairaland are either self-sponsored, spouse-sponsored, parent-sponsored). But I got approval; God too strong o. When he opens the door, no one can close it.

As you can see, what we call "red flags" abound. Plus a plethora of other imperfections i noticed in my application after I had submitted, as I got more enlightened following people's inputs on Nairaland. In fact, when I read people's refusal reasons and the watertightness of approved applications, I felt there was no need to keep deceiving myself. I never gave up trusting in God, though. Tell me, then, why we can't call this a miracle from the Most High.

TIMELINE

- Application Submitted - MAY 11

- Biometrics - MAY 12 ( Lagos)

- Upfront medicals done - MAY 9 ( didn't submit the information sheet with the application)

- Upfront medicals updated - JUNE 22 (after
sending the information sheet via webforms and emails to Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja, and London around mmid-June)

- Eligibility Started same JUNE 22

- PPR and BVL - JULY 27

Total duration of my application is therefore 10 WEEKS and 2 DAYS.

I'll come back to share the DOCUMENTS Submitted (They are not that much).

Some unanswered questions on this thread will find responses with my case.

If you no Sabi pray and trust in God, begin now de learn am. If you no believe sey miracle still dey happen, you don see am now. lol!

KINDLY NOTE, HOWEVER: each person's case is unique. I tailored my LOE and I believe honesty pays. Know your case and present a tailor-made application. No complications.

Going to UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA. Someone told me amusingly that uOttawa visa applications are never turned down. lol! (Don't take this seriously, please). Na only God fit do the magic!

To be honest, I carry everyone here in my prayers. The Lord who did it for me will do it for each and everyone of you here trusting in Him. Rest assured of that. Thank you all for all your contributions on this thread. You'll surely smile soon, starting with the Fall session candidates because their case is more urgent. It'll surely end in praise!

I hope this encourages someone.

Thank you! Thank you!! And Thank you!!!

Pls house,

I am trying to apply for MSc in Data science or artificial intelligence in any Canada university, although I have BSc in Economics and Diploma in Economics and Statistics with good grades and i dont have working experience related to course to study.

I will like to know if both Visa and Admission application can be granted.

Why don't you go for a Masters in Economics and statistics, it makes a lot of sense for your career progression and purpose of visit. Going for Data Science and Artificial intelligence is way outside your academic background. Hopefully if you able to get to Canada with an Msc in Economics you can always find your way around in the tech world because they will lot of options for you. Just an advise though...
