Ronke Oshodi provides closure on how her daughter was poisoned with Hypo bleach
Popular Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi has come out to clear the air concerning the incident which led to her daughter’s hospitalization three weeks ago.
“Maybe her roommate, maybe her friends deliberately poured Hypo in the water she drank, they wanted to k!ll her” the actress said.
She claims that the culprits knew what they were doing in poisoning her daughter’s drink.
“This is the first and last time, if anything happen to my daughter again, I only gave birth to two, it is only two God gave me. If anything like this happens, I will not take it likely.” The actress issued this warning to the school.
She chose not to mention the school in question, but stated it was a private school and instructed parents to keep an eye on their wards

Herdsmen Crisis In Taraba Claims 20 Lives, Two Nigerian Immigration Officers, Soldier
No fewer than 20 persons have been reportedly killed in a fresh clash between farmers and herdsmen in the Ussa Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Usman Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident, said the military officer was ambushed and killed while the other persons were either Kuteb or Fulani extractions.
“The military officer who was from the checkpoint coming back to 93 Battalion Barrack was ambushed and killed, though nothing was taken from him, his motorcycle and luckily he has no rifle on him,” Usman stated.
“He was killed by unknown persons and an investigation has been launched to unravel those behind the killing. Statistically, 20 Kuteb indigenes were killed while three Fulani herdsmen also paid the supreme price as a result of the crisis.”

According to Channels Television, the spokesman explained that at the moment, the major problem halting the return of peace is the claim by the Fulani herdsmen that their cattle are held hostage by the Kuteb farmers and the denial from the other end.
Stressing that the problem they faced was that the Fulani claimed their cattle were rustled and held hostage within the Kuteb farmers’ areas while the Kutebs fear going to the farm for fear of attack from the Fulani herdsmen.
“The Commissioner of Police has called on the leader of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Ussa and the claimants to discuss, agree and go to where they alleged that their cattle are held hostage for fact-finding as well as the release of same for peace to reign,” the police spokesman added.
He also revealed that two immigration officers and a soldier were ambushed and killed in a separate incident in the Takum LGA of the state.

IPOB Demands Release Of Nnamdi Kanu Over ‘Tuberculosis Outbreak In DSS Facility’ In Abuja
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has demanded the immediate release of its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, saying a Tuberculosis outbreak has hit the detention facility of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja, where Kanu is being detained.
Kanu had raised an alarm over the Tuberculosis outbreak in the detention facility and that a detainee diagnosed with Tuberculosis was moved to his cell block amid his deteriorating health condition without proper medical attention.
On Thursday, IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, alleged that the DSS has deliberately detained the tuberculosis-infected person in close proximity to Kanu’s cell to infect the IPOB leader with the disease.
Any harm on him will spell doom for Nigeria and everything that represents Nigeria both home and abroad,” IPOB warned.
IPOB said the detained tuberculosis patient had infected many detainees in the DSS detention facility and that the spread of the disease was fast because the facility “has no access to sunlight and lacks proper ventilation”.

“With information available to us, many inmates have already been infected by the virus, and DSS agents are not providing medication to infected persons. If urgent measures are not taken to avert the situation, there will be a tuberculosis pandemic in the Abuja DSS detention facility.
“We are calling on the Red Cross Society and World Health Organisation to visit the Abuja DSS facility and give independent and unbiased reports on the situation and recommendations for treatment.
“DSS and the Nigerian government must know that if anything untoward happens to Nnamdi Kanu, they will see what IPOB is capable of doing to this country,” it said.
The secessionist group called on the World Health Organisation and other health organisations, Red Cross Society, and Amnesty International Nigeria to prevail on the government to release Kanu as ordered by the Appeal Court.

Lagos State Government accuses 'Gangs of Lagos' promoters of 'cultural misrepresentation'

The Lagos State Government has released a statement accusing promoters of the movie ‘Gangs of Lagos’ of making a mockery of the heritage of Lagos.

The statement posted on the state government’s official website reads:
Lagos State Government has expressed displeasure with the promoters of the “Gangs of Lagos” film/series over cultural misrepresentation and for portraying the culture of Lagos State in a derogatory manner.
“A release signed by the Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharm. (Mrs.) Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said the Ministry, being the regulatory body and custodian of the culture of Lagos State, views the film/series as a mockery of the Heritage of Lagos.
“The Commissioner expressed her disappointment with the promoters of the film, Jade Osiberu and Kemi Akindoju, for portraying the Eyo Masquerade as a gun-wielding villain while adorning the full traditional regalia.”
According to the statement, Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf said: “We are of the opinion that the production of the film ‘The Gang of Lagos’ is very unprofessional and misleading while its content is derogatory of our culture, with the intention to desecrate the revered heritage of the people of Lagos. It is an unjust profiling of a people and culture as being barbaric and nefarious. It depicts a gang of murderers rampaging across the State”.
Akinbile-Yussuf maintained that the Adamu Orisha, popularly known as the Eyo Festival, is rarely observed and only comes up as a traditional rite of passage for Obas, revered Chiefs and eminent Lagosians.

Former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in a crowded Manhattan courtroom on Tuesday.

The charges stem from Trump’s alleged role in hush money payments to two women, including adult film star Stormy Daniels.

Trump arrived at the downtown Manhattan courtroom shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday after spending the night at Trump Tower.

Trump supporters have started gathering at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago club as he’s expected to arrive later Tuesday following his historic arraignment in Manhattan.
David Lee, of Houston, was among the dozens who traveled across state lines to condemn the charges filed against Trump in the Stormy Daniels payoff case.

“We are here for the truth,” he said. “We had to cancel our business, spend money and didn't sleep [to come here].

“If you saw a little good guy being bullied by this crowd of bad people, you're gonna sign up for that little guy,” he said. “You know, [Trump] is like David against the giant Goliath.”

Lee led protesters carrying “Justice for All” and “Trump 2024” signs, and sang to the tune of “For He's Jolly Good Fellow”: “Trump committed no crime, Trump committed no crime, Trump committed no crime, this nobody can deny.”

Although the group had cars honk in support of their cause, they also faced backlash, with one driver yelling, “Better cry, he’s going to jail!”

Trump is set to fly out of New York City following his arraignment to hold his own press conference to speak about the case presented against him by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg.

The conference, however, could fall apart or provide little insight if the court decides to issue a gag order during the proceedings.

As of 2020 over 1.4 million children in the U.K. under 13 used Tik-Tok, despite the platform’s own rules prohibiting children that young from setting up accounts.
The Information Commissioner’s Office said it issued a fine of 12.7 million pounds ($15.9 million) to the short-video sharing app, which is wildly popular with young people.
The British watchdog investigated these data breaches between May 2018 and July 2020.
TikTok didn’t adequately identify and remove children under 13 from the platform, the watchdog said. And even though it knew younger children were using the app, TikTok failed to get consent from their parents to process their data, as required by Britain’s data protection laws, the agency said.
It’s the latest example of tighter scrutiny that TikTok and its parent, Chinese technology company ByteDance, are facing in the West, where governments are increasingly concerned about risks that the app poses to data privacy and cybersecurity.

Lagos state Government arraigns Chrisland School and four others for manslaughter; Court grants them bail
The Lagos State Government on Thursday, March 30, arraigned Chrisland School ltd and four others before an Ikeja High court over the alleged involuntary manslaughter of a 12-year-old student, Whitney Adeniran who died during the school’s inter-house sports on February 9.
The state government filed charges of involuntary manslaughter and reckless negligent acts against the school and four others namely the principal, Mrs Belinda Amao, the Vice Principal, Nwatu Victoria, and a teacher in the school, Kuku Fatai. The other defendant is a vendor at the Agege Stadium, Ademoye Adewale.
At the arraignment this morning, the prosecution team led by the Lagos state Commissioner for Justice. Moyosore Onigbanjo told the court that the defendants negligently killed Adeniran by not ensuring her safety at the stadium. The prosecution team added that the defendants acted recklessly and negligently that endangered human life. Onigbanjo, while arraigning the defendants, informed the court that the state would be presenting 17 witnesses against the defendants and that the alleged offence contravened Sections 224 and 251 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
When the charges were read to them, the defendants all pleaded not guilty. The school principal, Belinda Amao, wept profusely as she was put in the dock.
The presiding judge, Justice Oyindamola Ogala admitted the defendants’ on bail after the defence counsel moved the motion for bail dated March 28 and March 29 respectively. There were no objections from the prosecution.
While granting their application for bail, Justice Ogala admitted the first and second defendants to N10 million bail each with two sure

Kaduna Governor, El-Rufai’s Security Escorts Open Fire On Protesting Shi’ite Members During Procession, Five Killed
The Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) otherwise called “Shi’ites” has accused the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, of causing the death of five members of the group when his security details allegedly opened fire on them during a protest in Kaduna.
Many people including passers-by were said to be caught up in the melee on Thursday in Kaduna as many people sustained varying degree of injuries in the process.

In a statement signed by the Secretary of Academic Forum of the movement, Abdullahi Muhammad Musa, the group attributed the tragic incident that led to the death of their members to the inciting statement allegedly made by the governor a few days ago.
The governor was said to have incited members of his political Party in Zaria, against the movement and its leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky(H), where he told them that they must vote for his anointed candidate, Senator Uba Sani.
SaharaReporters gathered that the governor’s convoy ran into the peaceful protesters along the airport road demanding for the release of travel documents of their leader, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenah.
It was learnt that the combined security operatives reportedly fired both teargas canisters and live bullets at the crowd killing five persons on the spot.
One of the victims was identified as Aliyu Suleiman, an 18 years old Mechanical Engineering Student of Kaduna State Polytechnic.
The statement read, “Few days after the Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai, incited members of his political Party in Zaria, against the the Islamic movement in Nigeria and it leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky(H), where he told them that they must Vote his anointed candidate, Senator Uba Sani, so he may finish off what he described as the remnants of El-zakzaky’s Shiites in Zaria.
