debbydee: @ feelamong
Kindly shed more light on this fgn 2020 bond. How does it work and what is the least amount one can invest.
waiting for your reply. Please lets not derail this Treasury Bill thread...I have earlier posted threads for FGN Bonds. Just go thru any of them and most of your questions have been answered there... I will also advise that you also throw in your bid once and get a practical lesson as you can invest with as little as N10,000 in the Monthly Auction |

This is the only reason why I voted Buhari!!
He will never tolerate any form of indolence or incompetence!!
When I remember how People like Abba Moro were left on their jobs in the past regime...I just thank God for a Leader like Buhari!
BTW nice one for Akabueze!! Really did so much work in Lagos state and deserved to be appointed as a Minister! |

unite4real: Other lucky ones are those that bought when the yield was high. Last September, the 15.54%fgn bond traded at a yield of 15.95%. At this rate, I got it at a discount better than those that bought originally. some were even lucky enough to get it at 16% when the JP Morgan issue was at its peak and everyone was scared to invest.. |

Tritri: @feelamong i was first told 11M so i agreed then again i was told i will pay total of 118M...i just told them dont bother..dont want to involve myself in stuff i dont understand.
What the diffrence if i decide to buy 100M at the secondary market today Or should i have still bought at the primary market? I think you should try to read more to understand this.....or just invest in one. if you go to the secondary market today you will still get the bond but may get it at a higher or lower yield. (this will then determine the price you will pay for this) |

vacanci: how come you are paying accrued interest so high when the next coupon paymnt is February 13, 2016. Will you be enjoying the next coupon of february 13, 2016? if not where is the accrued interest coming from? you have to pay the accrued interest back to the former holder of the bond....who sold to you on the 12th of feb (since he has held from the date of last coupon payment till the 12th) Yes the next coupon payment is Feb 13th and on that date you will be paid the last 6 months coupon. |

megainvest: The fact that FBNH suffered 14% YoY drop in EPS does not translate to a loss! Recall FBNH, in addition to its 10k dividend, gave a 1:10 bonus in 2015. That bonus can be seen as a 10% payout. So even if the share price is N4, a 10% payout is 40k. I think FBNH will still pay dividend this year. I am watching. bonus is not cash payout.... |
