GeneralDae: Valid question. I don’t think he has anything against borrowing itself for growth but why not consolidate your finances first before expanding aggressively? Just keep buying the cement coys Na dem go supply the cement for concrete roads for all the loans wey Jagaban dey take to build all the super highway to Sokoto and coastal road to Calabar Infact in Lagos now some ready to use concrete firms are struggling to meet demands to construction coys building houses cos the road building guys have bought up every thing |

mikeapollo: It is for you to interpret and understand what you see happening in broad day light in your country, in your presence.
Nepotism destroys a nation. It breeds incompetence, corruption, conflict of interests etc Buhari did it and we complained but nothing was done to address it, contributing to the failure of the govt. This govt too is doing a similar thing and a failure would spell doom for Yoruba people because nobody would listen when Yoruba start complaining about bad governance in this country. Well meaning Yoruba statesmen have already cautioned the president but it seems he does not listen
Just a few names/positions:
CBN governor, Yoruba NRS (former FIRS) chairman, Yoruba Minister for Finance, Yoruba Minister of State for Finance, Yoruba Minister for Interior Head of Nigeria Customs Service, Yoruba IGP, Yoruba Head of NNPC, Yoruba Chief Justice, Yoruba Chief of Army Staff, Yoruba Head, DSS, Yoruba Commandant, Nigeria Defence College, Yoruba Accountant General of Federation, Yoruba EFCC Chairman, Yoruba Head, NUPRC, Yoruba Head, AMCON, Yoruba Head, BPE, Yoruba Head, NPC, Yoruba Head, FAAN, Yoruba Head, NIMASA, Yoruba Head, NAICOM, Yoruba Head, NEPZA Head, NIMC, Yoruba Head, NAFDAC, Yoruba Head, National Pension Commission, Yoruba Head, Federal Fire Service, Yoruba Head, NOA, Yoruba etc etc etc. bros lets focus on why we are on this thread forget Politics for now |

GeneralDae: OANDO COMMENCES FINAL INSPECTIONS FOR 60MW GAS TURBINE
Oando (formerly Nigerian Agip Oil Company) has mobilized personnel for a critical inspection of its gas manifold infrastructure.
This technical review is the final step required before releasing gas into the newly completed 60-megawatt gas turbine, ensuring all systems are primed for operational takeoff.
As the primary energy provider for the project, Oando’s successful "gas-in" process is the catalyst for the facility’s launch.
This milestone comes as Bayelsa State prepares for the official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, who will formally commission the turbine along with several other signature projects in the coming days.

nosa2: I really no wan post analysis on this forum because of it can't be easily referenced in the future. But I will make an exception now.
ETI is cheap because of its negative retained earnings (hence no dividend). Now that negative retained earnings seems to be turning positive at least in its Naira result but is still negative in USD terms. I am waiting for the audited results to understand why that is.
Retained earning and Reserve -$148,264,000 Retained earning and Reserve +N2,552,212,916,000
You can check for yourself here https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/45990_ECOBANK_TRANSNATIONAL_INCORPORATED-_YEAR_END_-_FINANCIAL_STATEMENT_FOR_2025_FINANCIAL_STATEMENTS_FEBRUARY_2026.pdf
Now I have asked around and I was told its because of exchange rate translations, but the reason no too make sense. Anyway thats the risk with this.
Now the good news is that irrespective of the figure now, the trend is positive and retained earnings is appreciating in both currencies. ETI is always one of the most difficult banks to analyse....ask any analyst in many of these investment firms and they will tell you that its becos It’s not just a “bank”; it’s a multi-jurisdictional financial ecosystem. It operates in over 33 countries Issues of Currency translation and volatility Its holding coy structure Uneven Asset quality from different jurisdictions complex financial reporting with so many Intercompany transactions hiding a lot of dirt That Complexity discount will always be there on ETI I personally prefer to hold stocks that i can easily analyse and understand its financials so easily without having to go and do CFA So Good luck to ETI Investors.......Would only speculate there when i see the oppurtunity for such |
