vacanci: I live in a house that was purchased by my landlord for N23 Million 5 years ago. I pay rent of 800K annually. recently, he tried selling it and there was no buyer at 17M naira. Houses sometimes depreciates.
Now imagine that money in treasury bills for the past 5 years. That will be over N46. Do your calculations and see for yourself.
The guy that may have put his money in TB 5 years ago can simply write a cheque of 17M today and buy the house. he will have another 30M as revolving fund in TB.
Cash is king. If only people know the amount of Properties that AMCON and banks are carrying about and looking for people to buy and give them cash for... But then one needs to check a lot more before actually ditching house for Tbills. many that invested in houses in Lekki area are till now praying for someone to just pay at reduced price to give them cash flow |

Diyke4rich: Guru's in the house i have been following this thread for a long time now i need am advice, i have a house in lagos that the rentage is not that good compare to what i paid for the house or renovation after a tenant move out, i wanted to try out this treasury bill i have a house in asaba if i rent it i will not make what i will be making in treasury bill, please guru's its advisable to sell one of the house and invest in treasury bill. Thanks Your contributions will be highly be appreciated This arguement of House over treasury Bills will always be there, incidentally no one will win as it all depends on context. I personally will not do any house rentals as business. I would only support building the house I live in with the returns from my TBills Investment. In the past 5 years we have gotten a average return of 15-16% perannum on our Tbillls investment. I doubt any rentals from house will match that. |

onuku: House, I have been using Fidelity as my brokerage firm. How do I find out if my accrued dividends from my shares are debited to my bank account, as I haven't been able to see any on my statements? By the way, am not based in Nigeria, but will be visiting Nigeria before the end of the year. I have the CHN too.
Thank you Did you mean dividend credited to your bank account? why not ask your bankers for your bank statement, that should show all your credits and debits including dividend payments to you. |

Acidosis: Any luck with payment? I think you should check your calendar again. Next maturity date should be 29th/30th November, a day after auction date. Whatever people invest on the 28th November (next auction date) would be deployed for payment on the 29th/30th November (next maturity date). Tbills is an upgraded version of MMM with lower interest rate.
NB: I'm not 100% certain about the above claims. yes its FG guaranteed MMM |

GonFreecss1: I don't want to know what I will meet here. I came from the crypto world (still there) and I survived. Gone through the NSE history, I do not mean it as an insult to those who lost money, but trust me, this place is heaven compared to the crypto world.
I am not the financially emotional type, that is why I invest in very minute amounts, or set my trades that way. To me it's an art, a science of me studying my character knowing myself. It works for me, so I don't care what the NSE is or what they have done, this place is heaven.
I mean you can't even short stocks in the NSE (meaning the infrastructure is based on hope/optimism). I repeat this place is heaven. You call NSE heaven compared to Cryptos?? Hmmmm! |

How should I position in this market environment?
The last few months saw bond yields increase by 1.50/1.75%p.a. and currently between 13.5% to 14.8% p.a. for maturities ranging from February 2020 to April 2037. We envisage this rise in bond yields will likely play out in the money market segment of the market, such as treasury bills and commercial papers, although at a slower pace.
On this note, we encourage investors to stay in the short-end of the yield curve, such as investing in the Money Market Fund or very short-dated Treasury bills and with a plan to rotate into longer tenured fixed income investments in coming months.

troy20: Thank you. In other words fixed deposit is same as government bond. And at 18% percent per annum. Is the rate that high? Fixed deposit is not the same as Government Bond. Fixed deposits are investment instruments in Banks.. Government bonds are debt instruments issued by the governments be it LG, State or Federal |

Agbalowomeri: Even at that it is not gambling. Those who trade with TA have a system. I doubt if gambling has one @PeterLBrandt 18h18 hours ago Very unfortunate that a new generation of traders completely misunderstand charting. Charting does not provide predictions. Rather, it can: 1.) suggest possibilities, and; 2.) identify asymmetrical R/r trades. PERIOD |
