Sequel to the kidnap of Chibok girls in the Northern part of Nigeria , the where mixed reactions that the kidnap was political and government not doing enough for the released of the abductees.
Lot of persons organised symposium like Obi Ezekwesili owing to the fact that innocent girls where being held hostage and some lost their lives, and no one know their where about.
The question is has the abductees been released, where are those organising the symposium, is it a dying matter or a mere symposium to gain popularity?
Has the girls been released as assured by the government...Why the matter silent ?

I opened online account with Guarantee Trust Bank recently, an account number was assigned to me which I paid a token into the account to enable me collect my ATM . I have already linked my BVN so that my account would be unlimited. Despite all these, I cannot make a debit transaction. While processing online document, I uploaded my BVN, Passport, Utility bill & contact .
I was asked to to upgrade my account using my BVN & Utility bill wish I obliged. I travelled a distance to visited a branch, to upgrade my account, the customer service asked me to bring passport in addition to the BVN & Utility . Meanwhile, I was mailed to upgrade my account using my BVN & Utility bill only. I had no passport on me, no cash for that as I wasn't prepared for that.
In one of the mail, both VAT & ATM is N525 & another mail is N1050 for ATM .
Why online account is necessary is to avoid the hassle at the branch.
My surprise....If after completing the online processes, using my BVN, NIN,Passport & Utility bill, what is the point asking customers to visit the branch to upgrade the account with same documents. Why the online instruction is not being synchronised with the branch ?
Why things are falling apart ?

ABRAKA— SOCIAL Democratic Party, SDP, candidate for Delta Central senatorial district, Dr. Ovie Ughwanogho, has taken a swipe at representatives of Urhobo nation at the Senate and House of Representatives, stating that they have become “Lords to the Urhobo people whom they represent.
The SDP Senate hopeful said his ambition to represent the people of Delta Central senatorial district at the red chamber was not a money-making venture but to provide quality representation to the people, which they have been denied.

Ughwanogho made the disclosure at the palace of the Ovie of Oruarivie of Abraka kingdom, HRM Akpomeyoma Majoroh, during a courtesy visit to the monarch to seek royal blessings on his political aspiration ahead of the 2019 general election.

In his address to the monarch, he said: “Urhobo do not have a true representative at the National Assembly but persons representing their personal interests though they ought to be servants of the people who elected them into office.

“These individuals have rather become masters and lords to the people they claim to represent, which is undemocratic. I am not going to the Senate to make money or to make a name for myself but to offer quality representation to the Urhobo people and if elected, I will deliver the dividends of democratic representation to them.”

Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on Wednesday, said he’s qualified to criticise President Muhammadu Buhari, having presided over the affairs of the country and shed blood for the unity of the nation.

He said this at the 2018 Ibogun Day celebration, which attracted notable indigenes of Ogun State on Wednesday.

Also in attendance were: Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun, two gubernatorial candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Allied People’s Movement (APM), Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and Hon. Adekunle Akinlade, respectively.

Obasanjo said that Buhari would have not won in 2015 election if not for his support.

According to him, “I know Buhari and he too knows me. Till the day I die, Buhari will continue to address me as ‘sir.’ In 2015, if I didn’t support Buhari, he wouldn’t have won the election.

“I have what it takes to correct him. Nigeria should not be in the position we are today. Nigeria can be better. God has given us all that we need.

“I am qualified to speak against Buhari. One, I have done it before. Two, I have shed my blood for this country. Even my biological son has shed his blood. Why can’t I speak about what is best for this country? I am doubly qualified to do that.”

Chelsea star player, Eden Hazard has already “agreed deal” with Spanish La Liga giants, Real Madrid to leave Stamford Bridge and move to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.

This claim was made by respected football expert, Ian McGarry.

Hazard has less than 18 months in his current deal with Chelsea.

The Belgium international, who is yet to sign a new contract with the Blues, has repeatedly been linked with a summer move to the Champions League holders.

The 28-year-old had made no secret of the fact he would love to play for the Los Blancos.

However, McGarry believes Chelsea’s dressing room think Hazard has agreed his Real Madrid move days ago.

“Something that’s affecting Chelsea now is Eden Hazard,” McGarry was quoted by Bristol Live as saying.

“There’s a feeling in the dressing room that he’s agreed a deal to go to Real Madrid and the reason he’s so calm about everything and not having contract negotiations with Chelsea is he has this option and he’s just waiting to exercise it,” he said.

Hazard will hope to lead Chelsea to victory when they tackle Watford in tonight’s Premier League fixture.

Seventeen persons have been confirmed dead in some communities in Anambra State, following the outbreak of a disease suspected to be diarrhoea.
The affected areas are in the Anambra West Local Government Area of the state, Premium Times gathered. They include Igbedor, Nzam, Umuenwenum Anam and Ode.

Nine of the victims died in Igbedor, while three died in Nzam. Another three died in Umuenwelum, while two died in Ode community.

A community leader in one of the communities, Cyprian Akpofe, said the community usually experiences cholera around this time of the year. He said he believes the victims died of cholera and not diarrhoea.

His words: “It is pure cholera. All those that died exhibited all the symptoms of cholera before they died. It’s pure cholera. It happens here annually.”

However, the state’s Commissioner for Health, Joe Akabuike, disagreed with the cholera suggestion.

Mr. Akabuike, who led some officials of the ministry to the council area, said the deaths recorded in the area were not due to cholera as being speculated, but diarrhoea.

He blamed the disease outbreak on the recent flood disaster that submerged many buildings and farmlands in the area.

The commissioner also blamed the residents for seeking solution through traditional means, including going to herbalists rather than accessing health facilities as appropriate.

According to Akabuike, “what we have in Anambra West is not cholera outbreak as being speculated.

“What we have is diarrhoea disease that usually occurs after flooding, characterised by vomiting and other signs but what is important to us is not necessarily the name but the worry that people are dying.

“We are here to tell them that this is a pure environmental challenge. I am here with a team and lots of drugs.”
The Health Commissioner said Governor Willie Obiano had approved money to ensure the situation was arrested to prevent further deaths.

His words: “They should maintain personal hygiene, wash their hands regularly. They died because they seek a solution where it will never come from.

“We will make arrangement to ensure that more drugs are sent to them and immediate construction of a borehole to solve their water needs.”
