This is one of the most meaningless threads I have come across on Nairaland. A thread like this makes no sense in the real sense of sense. You simply want to massage your ego, citing a statement like "...yet a nairalander was arguing with me and saying that Dr. Jonathan was going to contest and that his spokesman, who released the statement, did not know what was happening"
It doesn't even make sense if you are defending Nigerian politicians based on what they said in time past

Never say never when it comes to politicians. They don't always follow their own rules n principles

Why Christianity or rather all religions of the world are selective to what they call sins
For examples
1. If you marry more than 1 wife some churches will call it adultery but Muslim and African traditionalist will not. I thought we have only one Creator - God Almighty who allowed Abraham, Jacob, David and Solomon to marry multiple wives at a time.

Sometimes I become confuse in frivolity many church called sins while leaving behind what natural laws and 10 commandments of God regardedvas sins.

For example
10 commandments mandate children to obey their parents but churches will tell children to disobey their parents on area regarding their belief,
Also thou shall not kill but some religion use killing as means of spreading the religion, crusade or jihad
Thirdly thou shall not make image as gods but some churches are making images such as scapular, chaplets, status, grotto, crucifix and be worshipping them, some make image of their GOs in their signpost. Some worship their GO as gods. Some wear their church vest which they regard as spiritual protector

There is a lot of hypocrisy in Christian church and other religions. African traditional religion is only religion that are rooted in truth and conscience
Ignorance

Show me where God allowed Abraham to marry Hagar

Did Abraham marry Hagar or just slept with her

As advised by God or by his wife?

And what was God's command to Abraham regarding Hagar n Ishmael

Even if you want to lie, try and be creative

'Shop that the man paid for, women are evil'.

1. Nowhere did the article state that the husband paid for the shop

2. Is the issue that the husband paid for the shop or the wife committed adultery? If she paid for the shop herself, would the situation be OK?

Na wa!
She cannot afford the shop

She's ungrateful

RedpillAnalyst:
Look at the global data: marriage by age 30 is dying. If you think this is just a "eyinbo people's wahala," you are sleeping. The wave is already crashing into Nigeria, and the future looks brutal for anyone refusing to see the trend.

Just look at your timeline every day. Nigerian blogs and forums are flooded with endless stories of celebrity divorces, marriage breakups, everyday infidelity, and partners cheating shamelessly in abroad or naija. The traditional foundation is cracking and I can see a steady decline to point of no return. The lifestyle of celebrities is also a reflection of what is happening in reality to average Nigerians. Let us look at Nedu, Iyabo Ojo, Chike, Frank Edoho, Pastor Chris, Sabinus, Destalker, Anita Joseph & MC Fish, Ugo, Mayowa Ekpo..... It's a mess everywhere.

For those who Japa to the UK, Cana, or Yankee searching for a better life, the reality is double jeopardy. The struggle to settle down in the Diaspora is a different level of hustle for men and women.

Way brutal for "accomplished" women because hypergamy hasn’t changed: women still naturally want a man who is more successful than they are. The problem? As a woman’s checklist grows and she gets older, the pool of "eligible, superior men" shrinks drastically.

Men on the other hand are not totally in the clear looking at the stat they seem to somehow be the most affected, but at least they can do geo-arbitrage to "poorer" location leave Atlanta, Brampton or Cambridge and go to a smaller village in Orlu or Kwara and totally avoid big cities like Lagos to get a chance at ecclesiastical marriage. Hoping not to get infected by the modern virus the moment the Kwara babe jumps on a plane leaving shore of Africa.

I saw this decline in year 2016 and stop living in a fantasy world. Humans lie, Data doesn't . Wake up.
What is eyinbo? It is called Oyinbo

The institution of marriage is one institution that is checkmating juvenile deliquency..it aint dying

Business › Re: Anybody Telling You Money Isn’t Important Has Probably Never Really Suffered by femi4:
Dpsychologist:
Mu At some point in life, many Nigerians stop chasing motivation and start chasing survival. At this point is when reality humbles all those sweet sounding quotes people post online.

“Money isn’t everything.”
“Just be happy.”
“Follow your passion.”
“Love is enough.”

This are Nice words but try hearing them when your rent is due, your mother is sick, your account balance is ₦842, your younger ones need school fees, and your phone is suddenly on airplane mode because too many people are calling for debt. Reality changes perspective very fast.

Let’s be honest with ourselves for once.
Money may not buy happiness directly, but lack of money can create a kind of stress that drains happiness from almost everything else.

Anybody that has stayed awake at night calculating bills understands this. Anybody that has entered a hospital in Nigeria without enough cash understands this. Anybody that has watched opportunities pass because transport money or application fees were missing understands this.

Even peace of mind behaves differently when money enters your life. Suddenly you eat better, sleep better, move better, think clearer, help more people, and breathe easier.

This is reality and no, this is not worshipping money. It is simply understanding the world we live in.

Even spiritual spaces run on finances whether people admit it or not. Churches need land, Mosques need maintenance and Outreaches need logistics.

Sound systems, generators, welfare, transportation, media equipment, all require money. Yes Prayer matters, faith matters and haracter matters. But pretending money is “not that important” is one of the biggest coping mechanisms people use against the pain of financial struggle.

In fact, many moral decisions people praise today become easier when basic needs are already covered.

Poverty pressures people psychologically. It can make intelligent people desperate, good people compromise, talented people abandon dreams, relationships become strained and Mental health suffers quietly.

This is why financial stability matters deeply. This is not because money makes someone superiorbut because survival itself has become expensive.

Want to eat healthy?
Money.

Want good healthcare?
Money.

Want stable electricity?
Money.

Want to relocate your parents from hardship?
Money.

Want to raise children properly?
Money.

Want freedom?
Most times, money is attached somewhere.

This is the painful truth many people avoid:

A lot of suffering in this country is not caused by lack of intelligence. It is caused by lack of financial breathing space.

So nobody is saying worship money blindly but stop romanticizing poverty. Stop acting like struggling endlessly is some badge of spiritual purity.

There is dignity in being financially stable.
There is peace in not panicking over every emergency. There is power in being able to solve problems without begging.

So yes, build character, have values, have faith,
have purpose. But also build income because in the real world, purpose without financial structure quickly turns into frustration.

Make money ethically, Learn skills, Invest wisely., Increase your value and Create opportunities for yourself because whether people admit it publicly or not, money quietly affects almost every part of adult life.
Until you have a terminal disease...you ll understand that money can be powerless

Family › Re: How Would You Handle Your Brother Inlaw Who Is A Pathological Liar. by femi4: 11:54am On May 16
Naya261:
My brother-in-law is a pastor with his own ministry. He’s been married to my younger sister for 14 years, but he’s a pathological liar who fabricates and exaggerates things effortlessly.

For example, if you eat at his house once or twice, he’ll claim he’s the reason you’re alive that without him, hunger would have killed you.

I stayed with them for 4 months in 2014 after youth service, learning a skill that should have taken 2 years. I left early because of his behavior and rented my own place by December 2014.

He now tells people he “rescued me from the village” when my father abandoned me, but I was 27 at the time, not a child that can be abandoned.

He claims the food I ate in his house for 4months (Aug–Dec 2014) was worth over ₦2 million. In reality, I ate once a day (dinner) because I left home at 7am and returned at 6pm except on Sundays, when I ate twice.

He says he no longer wants to be married to my sister, and my family has accepted his decision, but he’s slandering her: claiming she has sex video chats with men for money, has a boyfriend, and that she has even poisoned him once, causing him to pass out and come back to life, none of these allegations he can prove

My sister has been staying with me for over 3 months, but he's telling his church members that my sister is currently staying with another man.

Recently, he called my father asking for a meeting to reconcile, but I told my father the marriage must end. He keeps pleading for reconciliation.

I don’t know what he really wants from my sister.
Your sister is the only link between him and your family. Tell your sister to block him everywhere and move on....and that way, you dont have to worry about his future endaevour
