h777: CAN PRAYER CHANGE WHAT GOD ALMIGHTIEST HAS ALREADY DECIDED?
If GOD ALMIGHTIEST has already established His will concerning a matter, can the prayers of a man cause HIM to change that decision?
This is a question that deserves more than religious opinions. It deserves SCRIPTURE.
Some say, “Pray until GOD changes the situation.”
Others say, “Prayer does not change GOD. Prayer brings us into agreement with HIS will.”
But what does the scripture actually reveal?
Did Abraham’s prayer change GOD’s decision concerning Sodom?
Did Moses change GOD’s mind when he interceded for Israel?
Did Hezekiah’s prayer alter what had already been spoken concerning his death?
Did Jonah’s preaching cause Nineveh to experience a different outcome?
And if GOD ALMIGHTIEST is omniscient, knowing the end from the beginning, what does it actually mean when scripture speaks of GOD “repenting,” “relenting,” or changing a declared course of action?
There is another question that goes even deeper:
If GOD has already determined the outcome, was the prayer itself already part of HIS divine purpose?
And what about CHRIST JESUS?
When HE prayed in Gethsemane, “Not MY will, but THINE, be done,” was HE attempting to change the Father’s decision, or was HE submitting to the will that had already been established?
So let us settle this properly:
Does prayer change GOD’S mind, or does prayer accomplish what GOD has already purposed through the prayers of HIS people?
No assumptions.
No denominational arguments.
No emotional conclusions.
Bring the SCRIPTURE.
CAN PRAYER CHANGE WHAT GOD ALMIGHTIEST HAS ALREADY DECIDED?
There is no one answer
Infact, without prayer sef, He will still do what he will do
Omoawoke: When I say you people hating this guy definitely has some kind of darkness living in you, I’m definitely certain of it
With all the great stuffs this guy has done for Nigerians and humanity…. You think he’s blameless? But when darkness liveth in people, you won’t understand why you just hate him and get angry and would wish his downfalll so evil can prevail
I thought you would even say maybe he did one crime like stealing or extorting people of funds or doing drugs
So this is all you could dig up
Go in front of the mirror and ask yourself why you are like this? Ask yourself what have you ever done for anyone? Before telling yourself the truth of all the evil stuffs you have done and hiding in secret
So with all the great stuff he has done, we should look away when he is evil
Your true nature is what you do when no one is watching. Why are you blind to 99 evil cos of one good?
You should ask yourself same question you are asking me

ocnovakmichael: Acts 1:8 [8]But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
I'd suggest you read that text in this manner: "After that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, ye shall receive ability - the knowledge to witness unto me..."
Growing up as a child in the 90s I attended a primary school that was ran by Catholic missionaries. On our school badge was the school moto: "Knowledge is power." I didn't understand that phrase until the grew up and discovered that the most influential and powerful men of this world are those with a specialized kind of knowledge. The likes of Elon Musk, Bill Gate, Peter Thiel, Dangote, Einstein etc.
This brings home the idea that Jesus wants his disciples to be influential and powerful upon the earth in bringing many to Christ that is reason he sent the Holy Ghost upon them to endue them with the knowledge of the things of God's.
You see, many believers are still waiting for a "power surge" kind of experience when they talk about receiving the Holy Ghost. They expect to shake, to shout, or fall under the anointing so powerfully during this experience. But that’s not what Jesus meant in Acts 1:8
Permit me to hold your hand and take you through the Scriptures.
We need to understand that the purpose of the Spirit upon a man is KNOWLEDGE 1 Corinthians 2:12 tells us why God gave us the Spirit: "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; *that we might know* the things that are freely given to us of God."
While the spirit of the world brings confusion, fear, and anxiety. The Spirit of God brings KNOWLEDGE. The word knowledge in Greek `gnosis` means insight, revelation, understanding.
Put slightly differently, If the Spirit is upon you, your primary evidence should be that you KNOW God more.
The "Power" in Acts 1:8 Is not an electric surge kind of experience, rather it is the power to testify about Jesus accurately. Look closely at the verse. Jesus didn’t stop at "you shall receive power". He gave the purpose of that power: "...and ye shall be WITNESSES unto me"
In my undergraduate days at the university I did a course in philosophy "The Aristotle Four Principles of Causation." And one of those principles is causa finalis known as the principle of finality, which state that there's a final purpose of any thing, word, or idea. The final purpose of a car is not luxury but to commute man from point A to B at the least amount of time.
So, the purpose of "power" in Acts 1:8 is the knowledge to witness Christ. A witness in court doesn’t need the theatrics of demonstration. A witness needs FACTS. He needs to know what he saw, what he heard, and be able to explain it clearly.
You cannot witness what you do not know. That’s why Jesus said in John 15:26-27: "But when the Comforter is come... he shall testify of me: And ye also shall bear witness." In other words, the Spirit testifies of Christ first in us. Then we testify the same message.
We must understand that power without knowledge is just noise. This is why we have a lot of noise in the church but few witnesses: Romans 10:2 "They have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge."
The apostles in Acts didn’t just shake. They preached with knowledge. You see, before the Holy Ghost came upon the apostles, Jesus sent them out to preach but they preached Christ they didn't know. They preached the kingdom without knowledge. But after the Holy Ghost came upon them and they receive the knowledge of the things of God by the Spirit, Peter stood and quoted Joel, Psalms, and David for 10 verses in Acts 2:16-36. That’s knowledge. Stephen gave Israel’s entire history from Abraham to Moses Acts 7. That’s knowledge. And Paul reasoned with the Jews out of the scriptures for three Sabbath days (three weeks) Acts 17:2-3. That’s knowledge.
Put somewhat differently, the "power" was clarity, boldness, and conviction that came from knowing.
In conclusion, the Holy Spirit came to make us Knowledgeable of the things of God. The Holy Spirit did not come upon you to make you vibrate and have a spiritual sensation, he came upon you to make you KNOW.
A better way to read Acts 1:8 is " After that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, you shall receive the ability to know and declare Me..." because scripture says, "...we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God."
Do not hoard knowledge, propagate!
Jesus is Lord
Not just knowledge...infact most of them have the knowledge. It is also for BOLDNESS
Your knowledge is useless without the ability to transfer them
2nd Tim 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind
Acts 4:31: "After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.
"Acts 4:13: "When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and took note that these men had been with Jesus

Ishilove: Peter Cullen is gone. I am shocked and saddened 🥺🥺
For those of us who grew up on cartoons in the 80s and 90s, this one hits differently. 😞
Peter Cullen, the legendary voice behind Optimus Prime, has died at 85. And honestly, it is difficult to think of Optimus Prime without hearing that deep, calm voice rumbling, “Autobots, roll out!”
His voice was so deep and distinctive that, once you had heard it enough times, you could recognise Peter Cullen immediately, no matter what character he was voicing. There was just something unmistakable about that voice.
But Cullen wasn't just Optimus Prime. He was also the narrator of Voltron, as well as the voice of Coran and King Alfor. He was Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh and even provided the chilling sounds of the Predator.
The man was everywhere.
I think what makes his death particularly sad for people of our generation is that these voices were part of our childhood. We didn't know the names behind them. We just knew the characters. Optimus Prime was Optimus Prime. Eeyore was Eeyore. Voltron was Voltron. Oh, especially Voltron: Defender of The Universe!! 😩
And now, you find out that the man behind some of those voices is gone.
Peter Cullen died on August 26 in Los Angeles at the age of 85. His cause of death has not been disclosed.
Rest well, Peter Cullen.
You gave a voice to characters that became childhood memories for millions of us.
Till all are one.
My name is Optimus prime from the planet cybertruck
The legend of Voltron...the defender of the universe

seunmsg: This is a video of an event that was recorded on the 11th of December, 1999. No sensible person will even put Tinubu's age at 50 year as at when this video was taken not to talk of 63 according to desperate Atiku.
Jakarta: That's a valid cause for concern, but I strongly believe it won't. In worst case scenario the service will be poor for the first 1-3 years. But it will definitely improve, because given the high demand for power, foreign investors will likely invest in both power generation and distribution which will lead to competition in that sector, and competition almost always favour the consumer. See how Airtel, Glo, MTN are digging it out, in the telecoms sector, do you still remember any of NITEL, Econet, TMobile, Zain, or even Etisalat? That's how many of these Discos will be forgotten.
Its like we dont learn from history
Increase in tarrif has never fix power, so it wont start fixing it now
2. You cant compare power to telecom cos of the stages involved, infact we are paying more to the telcos cos of unreliable power supply.
We have challenges with generation, xmission n distribution
