First of all I'm neither an APCist nor a BAPTIST.

1) One anthem is "Arise o Compatriots " (I don't know what is compatriots nor do I know what they talking about). The other one is "Nigeria we hail thee". 'Nough
said.

If you don't know the meaning of compatriots, Google it. That's a bias statement to make

2) And we survived the Civil War intact, then a period of unprecedented boom till the anthem was changed!
Another biased submission, linking the state of the economy to change in anthem. Now, that the old anthem is back, is N1 now $1

3) In tough times the importance of an uplifting, very positive, unifying mantra cannot be overestimated
And "Arise o Compatriots is not uplifting "? Another biased opinion, "The Labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain" is more than motivating and uplifting

4) That concerns what's good for our economy and our foreign reserve. In all other things nothing beats merit.
This anthem was chosen by NIGERIANS after a WORLD-WIDE competition - and it shows. Best anthem in the world
This is the only valid point you raised but then you still link it to "good economy and foreign reserved"

NB: Most APCIST always always start their reply to acquisition with the phrase "I AM NEITHER a BATist nor an APCist

Gajagojo:
What won't work here?
This is exactly why we say university is not for everyone
Reading and comprehension is not as easy as it seems

What is the connection between what I said and what you wrote
The message is
You don't need to go to university to be successful in life
You say
It won't work here?
What exactly is it that "won't work"
If you need clarity, read my post again
Education › Re: You Don’t Have To Go To University To Succeed In Life - Rishi Sunak by femi4: 8:43pm On May 30, 2024
Gajagojo:
He did not recommend skipping university
That is a malicious distortion of what he did
His message is not ambiguous
You do not need university to succeed in life

That is an obvious reality

It you have other talents/skill or interests e.g sports, acting singing
University might not be for you

The UK government is budgeting £2.7 billion pounds in 2024/2025 for apprenticeship schemes

Every person has a responsibility to determine what is best for them.
University Education in England and Wales is not free .Often students get into a lot of debt to finish and then find they cannot get a job so this is very appropriate advice

So your language of boycott and morals are totally tangential to the issue on ground the advice can be interpreted as taking time to decide if you need a university education at a particular point of your life

E.g Wayne Rooney did not need a university education at 18 neither did David Beckham nor Anthony Joshua

If you want to be a truck driver o a farmer you don't have to go to university
It won't work here, where are the industries?, majority of the workforce are in civil service (local, state, federal) where how high you go depends on your level of university education

The First two pictures are from local food restaurants and I spent maximum of 1k.
Rice and beans - N500
Spaghetti- N100
Boiled egg - N200
Beef - N200

NB: the meat is under the spag and stew.

The last Two pictures are from standard Eatry restaurants and I spent maximum of 2k

Rice - N600
Fish - N1200
Table water- N200

My opinion: the local rice was okay and I was satisfied and taste More better the eatery own. Also the eatery was okay but too expensive and not pocket friendly.
Local place no get TV n AC. That's what make restaurants food more expensive.

But my question is, why was the anthem changed in the first placehuh
It wasn't composed by a Nigerian. In order to embrace Nigerianess new flag design, Anthem and pledge were done by Nigerians

The problem of Nigeria is not in changing her Anthem

You don't throw away an anthem that's simply genius and replace it with medicre nonsense.
That our old anthem is the best anthem in the world in all sorts of ways!
What is wrong with "Arise o Compatriots " ?

2. Which Anthem were we using when we fought Civil/Biafra war ?

3. How is changing the Anthem affects the social economic progress of the masses?

4. What happens to the popular slogan: "support Nigerian products " wear , eat n grow Nigeria?

Apcist.... over to you

Since we started singing 'Arise, o compatriots ' tribalism started increasing so let's go to the old one.

Twenty Five years of unbroken democracy, how has Nigerians fared?

I remember all the events that preceded May 29, 1999. There was excitement everywhere that at last the military was exiting the political stage in the annals of our history but today a lot of people will tell you that things are not in any way better, especially in these last few years!

The question is, Where were you and how old were you in 1999?

Is this the democracy you hoped for?

Are we there yet?
