Sophia Momodu has sparked fresh reactions online after claiming she is solely responsible for the financial upkeep of her daughter, Imade, whom she shares with Afrobeats star Davido.
Speaking during a live session that has since gone viral, Sophia suggested that she is the one who takes care of every expense related to their daughter. She said, “You all know I’m the only one my daughter has. This is not about empty claims. Whenever a bill comes, whether big or small, I’m the one who pays it. You all know how it is. Stop believing all these empty claims.”

Nollywood actor, Jimmy Rolland, has claimed that his former wife deceived him into believing she was a virgin before they got married, describing the revelation on their wedding night as one of the biggest disappointments of his life.
Speaking on the African A-List podcast in an episode uploaded on Saturday, the actor said he ignored several warning signs before marrying his ex-wife because he was convinced she was truthful.
“I am not a fool. I saw signs, but I was hypnotised by my mother-in-law,” he said.
According to Rolland, both his mother and some friends had advised him against the marriage after what he described as spiritual consultations.
“My mother and friends made spiritual consultations and warned me not to marry her, but I did not listen,” he said.
The actor said he and his former wife dated for four years before getting married and that she repeatedly told him she was a virgin.
“She told me she was a virgin, so I did not bother to make attempts to make love to her. We dated for four good years,” Rolland said.
He explained that after their introduction, she insisted they wait until after their wedding before becoming intimate.
“After our introduction, she said, ‘Till the wedding night.’ I had to wait for some months, then on the wedding night, it ended up to be a lie,” he said.
Rolland said he was devastated by the discovery and admitted he considered ending the relationship at the time.
“I was disappointed, and I should have walked away, but I did not. It was not me,” he said.
Reflecting on the breakdown of the marriage, the actor said the most painful part was losing access to his two children after the separation.
“What was disheartening is that we have two kids together, and she took them away.”
He claimed the emotional distress of being separated from his children later affected his health.
“Because of the children she took away, I had a stroke.
“Because of too much thinking about those children, I had a stroke,” he said.
Rolland added that his mother continues to mourn the separation from her grandchildren.
“My mother still cries because she wants to see those children,” Rolland said
The actor did not disclose when the marriage ended or whether there are ongoing legal proceedings regarding custody of the children.
Oluwabash: Matawalle Asks Troops To Declare ‘Operation No Mercy’ On Bandits
Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has directed troops of Operation Fansan Yamma and other military formations operating across the North-West to intensify offensive operations against terrorists following renewed attacks in parts of Zamfara State.
Matawalle gave the directive while condoling with victims of recent terrorist attacks in Bungudu and other affected communities in Zamfara, reaffirming the Federal Government’s commitment to restoring peace and security across the region.
The minister described the attacks as unfortunate and assured residents that security forces would sustain the ongoing military campaign against terrorists.
He instructed the leadership of Operation Fansan Yamma to remain resolute in the fight against terrorism in collaboration with other security agencies.
The minister further ordered all military formations involved in counter-terrorism operations in Zamfara, Kebbi, Katsina, Sokoto and Kaduna states to step up their operations by deploying every lawful and necessary measure to dismantle terrorist networks through what he described as “surgical operations without mercy.”
Matawalle also appealed to traditional rulers, community leaders and residents to support security agencies with credible and timely intelligence, especially on individuals suspected of aiding terrorists with information or logistics used in planning attacks on rural communities.
He directed senior military commanders in the most volatile operational areas to strengthen surveillance and increase patrols to identify and destroy terrorist hideouts and safe havens before they could be used to launch further attacks.
The minister commended the Armed Forces and other security personnel for what he described as their gallantry, professionalism and sacrifices in the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign.]
He specifically praised troops for recent operations that led to the neutralisation of several terrorists in Gummi, Bukkuyum, Anka and Tsafe in Zamfara State, as well as Faskari in Katsina State and other locations.
Matawalle urged the troops to sustain the momentum until terrorism is completely defeated across the affected parts of the country.
He also prayed for the continued success of the military and other security agencies in their efforts to restore lasting peace and stability across the North-West.
enemyofprogress: "Don't Date If You Can't Afford It!" — Bukky Wright Sparks Heated Debate on Relationships and Money.
Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has set social media on fire after sharing her opinion on the financial responsibilities of men in relationships.
According to the actress, a man should naturally provide for the woman he is dating without waiting for her to ask.
In her words:
"She doesn't even need to ask you. It's your responsibility as a man to know that your woman needs to dress well and look good. She should be your pride."
Reacting to the term "gold digger," Bukky Wright didn't hold back:
"I hate it when men call women gold diggers. What do you expect her to dig? I won't advise any woman to dig anything less than gold."
When asked if men who cannot afford the financial demands of dating should stay away from relationships, she responded:
"Then don't date if you cannot afford it! Or date according to your level."
Her comments have since divided opinions. While some people agree that a man should be willing to support his partner, others believe that modern relationships should be built on love, partnership, and shared responsibility, rather than placing the financial burden on one person.

She is wrong Until he puts a ring on her finger, dating responsibility et al should be handled based on understanding
success1smyn: You obviously don't know Pep won his way to the top. He didn't walk into Barcelona's first team because of his name, he earned it. Guardiola began by coaching Barcelona B, where he implemented his philosophy, developed young players, and won promotion from the fourth tier to the third tier of Spanish football. That success convinced the club to trust him with the senior team in 2008, where he then built one of the greatest football sides in history. He wasn't handed the top job; he proved himself and climbed there.
The reason I earlier said I don't do this argument is because you will never agree and I can't keep going on and on.
When you can list these achievement, we can proceed
success1smyn: He has a valid point. I don't like doing this kind of argument. Having good players only don't win games. We have seen top managers turn average and below average teams into formidable teams. But you can't expect a top manager to go about searching for below average teams (who can even afford his services) because he want to prove a point. It doesn't make sense. Guardiola is arguably the best manager in football history and he doesn't need to accept a particular job just to prove that. He has made it clear that he's taking a break from football and we have to take it like that. When he was coming to the premier league, people like you doubted him and he has proven himself. He turn the premier league into farmers league and even leave a lasting legacy in the premier league that today, it's his type of football that ruling not only the premier league, but world football.
His point is invalid
That same season, other teams were not stagnant, they were busy in the transfer market.
Especially in epl where money is the power play. In the last 10yrs, only leicester won the epl without big spending
Now coming to the context which is Pep
Show me what Pep has won with an average team in his coaching career
WORD FOR TODAY You do not honour your parents because they were perfect; you honour them because God commands it. Obedience to God's Word brings freedom, healing, and positions you for His blessings! **************************************** Scriptural Reference "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 'Honor your father and mother,' which is the first commandment with promise: 'that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.'" — Ephesians 6:1–3 (NKJV) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Honouring parents is often easy when the relationship has been loving and nurturing. However, for some people, the journey is much more difficult. There are those who grew up in broken homes, experienced rejection, neglect, abandonment, or the pain of parents who lacked either the willingness or the resources to care for them. Such wounds can leave deep scars that become barriers to reconciliation.
Yet, as believers, our standard is not determined by how people treat us but by what God commands us. We honour our parents first as an act of obedience to God. We honour the divine position He gave them in our lives, even when they did not fully live up to their responsibilities. This does not mean approving of wrongdoing or pretending painful experiences never happened. Rather, it means refusing to allow bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness to control our hearts.
When we choose honour, we close the door to the enemy, who often seeks to use unresolved offences to keep people in spiritual bondage. A heart that forgives and honours God's instruction creates room for His peace, healing, and favour to flourish.
I once heard the testimony of a couple who had waited many years for the fruit of the womb. They had prayed fervently, sought medical help, and trusted God, yet nothing changed. During a season of prayer and counsel, they became convinced that they needed to reconcile with a parent they had cut off after years of unresolved offence. They humbled themselves, sought reconciliation, restored honour, and renewed the relationship. By God's grace, nine months later they welcomed their first child.
Whether every situation unfolds in exactly the same way or not, the lesson is clear: obedience to God's principles opens our hearts to His work. Reconciliation does not manipulate God into blessing us, but it removes barriers of disobedience and aligns us with His will. God delights when His children walk in humility, forgiveness, and honour.
If there is an offence that has separated you from your parents, ask the Lord for wisdom and grace. Where reconciliation is possible and safe, take the first step. Even if all they gave you was the gift of life, thank God for that gift and choose to honour Him through your response. Do not allow yesterday's wounds to rob you of tomorrow's blessings.
Questions for Meditation Is there any unresolved offence I need to surrender to God? Have I allowed bitterness to replace the honour God commands? What practical step can I take toward reconciliation where it is possible?
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of life and for Your perfect example of love and forgiveness. Heal every wound in my heart and remove every root of bitterness. Give me the humility to obey Your Word by honouring my parents and seeking reconciliation where it is possible. Let my life be free from every foothold of the enemy, and help me to walk in the blessings that accompany obedience to You. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Main Emphasis: Honouring your parents is ultimately an act of obedience to God, not a reward for their perfection. Choose forgiveness over bitterness, reconciliation over division, and obedience over offence.
May the Lord heal every broken relationship, grant you the courage to forgive, and fill your heart with His love. As you walk in humility and obedience, may He establish your life in peace, preserve your destiny, and cause His blessings to abound in every area of your life, in Jesus' name. Amen.
ebubeson: You may have heard teachers telling you that once you are saved it is final. Is this true?
When you get saved and accept Jesus, you receive salvation but if you later commit any sin without repenting of it, you become a candidate of hell fire. Every sin you commit even after being saved, you must ask God for forgiveness of such a sin. A saved person might sin out of carelessness, but such a person must ask God for forgiveness of such a sin. If you assume that once you are saved, any sin committed does not count, you are or may be heading to hell fire.
Hebrew 10: 38 "Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him"
If you have committed any sin, please tell Jesus now that you are sorry and that he should forgive all your sins.
Rapmoney: Have you ever wondered why you were taught in English during your primary school days, secondary school days, and university days, but you are still required to write IELTS or TOEFL to gain admission to study in most western countries? Have you ever wondered why you are required to obtain extra foreign qualifications as a teacher to work in the UK, Canada, Australia, and the United States? It is because speaking standard English is required for such endeavours.
Some people might say '...but some people speak bad English over there'. Yes, but not in a formal setting. An educational institution operates in a formal setting, and teaching is a profession that requires standard English in those countries.
Today, we shall be looking at:
1. STAIRS/STEPS: If they are inside, they are called stairs, but if they are outside, they are called steps.
2. FLOOR/GROUND: If it is inside, it is called floor, but if it is outside, it is called ground.
3. HALLWAY/PATH: If it is inside, it is called a hallway, but if it is outside, it is called a path.
4. DOOR/GATE: If it is inside, it is called a door, but if it is outside, it is called a gate.
I hope you have learnt something today.
Used to bother myself until I discovered the natives care less
AirBere: Lmao. You can feign ignorance from now till kingdom come facts are there and I'll help you.
Sir Aiex a coach of Manchester united in 2012 won the league, retired and handed same team to Moyes. With same player, another coach David Moyes finished 6th with same team. What happened there?...obviously coaching, the influence of the great sir Alex was missed.
Ignorance
So when changes were happening at Man U, other teams were stagnant. They were not buying players n changing coaches
AirBere: Yes. That's why Italy can beg Pep to coach them while Chelle will beg Italy for the same job and won't get it. Even if he begs to be assistant. There are levels to this coaching thing.
Pep is the 🐐 manager and has proven himself at the highest level. Downgrading isn't gonna prove sh!!t lol 😆 😂 🤣
We all know he goes after merceneries. No oppurtunity for such in the national team
Drop that proven himself thing...Did Carlo not fail with Brazil
National team coaching is different
A coach is as good as the materials he can work with
OLABAMIJI99: As Tinubu suppporter, I can confidently tell you that Tinubu has no pathway to Aso rock in 2027 because all odds are now against him unlike 2023.. I am being factual here , and Let’s not deceive or lie to ourselves to feel happy.
In 2023, the Late Buhari internally worked against Tinubu, but he had no option than to throw his weight behind him at the general election because he’s the flag bearer of his party APC which his cult followers also did as Buhari commanded. Despite that, millions still voted against Buhari’s wish especially the politically exposed Hausa Fulani Muslims who voted for Atiku ..
In 2027, Buhari is no where to be found, who is going to influence votes for Tinubu like Buhari did in 2023 ? Is it the nothern Governors whose bodies are in APC but souls are sitting with ADC ?, the same thing is applicable to some South South and South East Governors where Obi’s candidacy has caused uncertainty in the aforementioned region..
