Popular Nigerian content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has stirred reactions online after revealing that he turned down an alleged offer from DStv to broadcast his upcoming wedding.
In a viral video shared on X, Peller claimed he would rather livestream the ceremony on YouTube, TikTok and Twitch, where millions of his followers can watch the event live.
According to him:
"DSTV is begging me that they want to stream my wedding, but I'm sorry DSTV, I'll be streaming my wedding on Twitch, YouTube & TikTok. It will be the biggest wedding out of Africa!"
Peller is set to marry fellow content creator Jarvis (Jadrolita) on August 1, 2026.
The couple have already completed their traditional marriage rites, shared their pre-wedding photos, and have continued to make headlines with their lavish wedding preparations. Reports indicate that 12 cows were presented as part of the traditional rites, while invited guests are expected to wear the official aso ebi. Celebrity businessman Cubana Chief Priest has also reportedly pledged ₦10 million toward the wedding, while Peller revealed he has been privately attending marriage counselling as he prepares for married life.
Rather than allowing the ceremony to be broadcast on traditional television, the couple also plan to stream the wedding live across YouTube, TikTok and Twitch, making it accessible to fans around the world.
Peller's announcement has generated mixed reactions online, with many praising his confidence while others questioned whether the event can truly become the "biggest wedding out of Africa."
ebubeson: Have you seen a white person talking high about their first class degree? Do they really place value on it the way many celebrate it in Nigeria?
No
They celebrate what you can do in relation to improving productivity
As a kid, I remember not liking this dish, and I disliked whenever my mum made it. So, to avoid going hungry, I'd choose lesser evil, by scraping off the beans and eating the yams. 😩
When it comes to yam and beans, there are three categories of people; those who like both, those who like just the beans, and those who like the yams.
Which category do you fall under?
As for me, I don't know if I've come to like it sha.
Stephen0mozzy: First of all, yes, people do really crazy things for "love", and that includes Traditional Benin men like myself
Unless you're a monk/priest/nun chances are you have been in a situation before where the above statement was blurted out: "Yes, you always say you love me. But I want you to prove it".
So that's the thing I want us to have a conversation about. Now this is not a thread for gender bashing. Both men and women ask this question, and what we want to see perspectives about is, "How Did you Answer it when you were asked?" or "How will you respond if you were asked".
1. Is it that I need to send the person money? 2. Is it that I need to make a video on social media to prove my love? 3. Do I need to wear pink paent and "waste" bead? 4. Do I need to give you the password to my opay, so you can withdraw my last N250?
Let's have it, let's have it. BTW, thank God it's Friday.
Na that gender dey use that phrase to get money out of men
