ogakpatakpata: femiaction, thanks for that wise counsel, valentony....l guess l hv said this in several ways in my previous post, l am not comfortable with the group search for jobs, go alone. l know u need company, l dont know ur spiritual make up, but pls remember ur STAR is not the same thing with every other guys,l dont know hw u will feel with my advice, but pls, fight ur battles alone, run ur race alone, ur destiny and star is not the same thing with other guys,.....l totally agree and support the advise from femiaction....once again thanks femiaction...

things are not really the way you view it.
to start with, I went with my room mate (the one I met on the plane).
we met others around the venue and we had to wait till the said time for the interview.
that is why we were together at the time.
even after the interview, we had to take taxi to the metro station together to save cost since we are headed in the same direction.

again, I know that most of us were graduate because everyone of us were talking about the requirements for that particular Job.
so,an engineer amongst us mention his qualifications and every one else started doing the same.

in Dubai,if you try and move alone, you will suffer alone.
'cos,people carry people along to make progress here.


again, this is not naija. where a tree can always make a demi-forest.

we met a white man after our interview yesterday .he specializes in pimping exotic rides ....
he asked us where we were going .
I told him that we are going to submit our cv's for jobs
. he asked what kind of Job and I said ,any Job .
he asked ,can You paint, weld, repair car/tyre?

we said no.
he said ,what can You do?
I said ,we are graduates, we can do office work .
he said ;no ,I want people that can work with their hands.


that was my first experience .

good morning to my Igwe,Loorlo,the Chiefs and the council of elders on here.
we went for the second interview today and after everything, the oga @ the top gave us the following conditions.......
1.basic salary is no more 900 but 700drms.
2.no holiday or off periods for 2 years.
3.you can't leave until after 2 years.
4.after two years,you will be given an equivalent of two months salary (approximately 35k x 2).
5.we should come and work with them for ten days trial period before they can start processing our documents.
6.after the work hours, You must go straight to accommodation so that you can easily be reached.
7.no feeding allowance and you can't cook because the Bangladesh they employed are the ones cooking. we can eat with them and pay some money or we eat at a hotel nearby.
and according to him, it's expensive.
8.he also said that they are not assuring us of any job even after the ten days trial period because it's getting more difficult to give the green kpali holders work permit.


my elders, as you can see that we are between the devil and the blue sea.
what should we do?

pack our bags and go or what.........

i never said we paid $70x3=210.

i paid $200 and my friend paid $200 as well.
his contact balanced the rest.
its a small room,almost empty. but very neat and beautiful.
i dont know how to post pics on nairaland.
i would have posted the pics here.

sorry for the delay and my method of replying.
my phone has simply refused to be configured.

i entered dubai with around $600.
after calling my agent for 45minutes without response,i decided to follow one of the guys i met on the plane(lest i be stranded @ the airport).
some showed us the metro station and how to buy a pre loaded bus card for around 20/25drms.
we boarded and went to palm deire.
his contact told him to go to Adagaya hotel,behind london city hotel.
there we were when my agent called and arranged for someone to come and pick me up to my accomodation.
another 1hr,the person came and took me to a room in deira.
the room was well dis-organised with 4 bunks and bags and clothes everywhere.
the guy that took me to the room then asked me to pay for my space $200 non negotiable.
i asked him,where is my space and he pointed to a bed with a bag and clothes on it.
i asked him about the bag and clothes and he said the person will sleep on the floor with some others.
i excused myself to the toilet..........and when i got back i told him i have only $150 but he refused.
told him i will go borrow some money from my friend to complete the money.

that was how i,my friend and his contact came to shajar area to rent a room for just the three of us for now @ the same rate of $200per month.

yesterday....
i had a terrible experienced yesterday and i will like to share it here later.

well, am in dubai now too what i see here, what i can say is that if u have something doing back home that give income btw 50k-100k stay back if you are to come pls go to job site apply if u are given great, but do not give some1 moni and the person is promising you haven and earth.pls do ur homework right b4 you proceed.for people who is interested in buying and selling good pls be warned.

ogakpatakpata: u are asking too many questions at d same time, and is like u hvnt really figure out what u wanna do, just be careful, go back and read from page 1 of this thread, all ur questions hv been answered, dubai4eva or whatever he calls his name has been banned from this site, l think u just hv to be careful or else u will be swindled or scammed of d little cash u hv, when u ask 2many questions from different people who seem to tell u that there is milk and honey in dubai or anywhere without hardwork, l am afraid u may be heading for trouble, some people are out there just to give u fake info that will suit u and u end up falling to their bait. be very very careful and cautious. we hv good contributors on this forum who are giving good info, why dnt u take thier advise, anyway, i wish u luck.
