Pls, does anyone on this thread know of any F1 visa applicant who has been successful with paying SEVIS fee via Western Union directly from Nigeria? With WU opening out-bound transfers from Nigeria, I presume that should be possible. Right? |
Life will always present dilemmas such as the stated, but you should know that in the long run, it is self- qualities that gets one established. I will not help you make a choice because I believe there is no right or wrong option in this case. Follow your heart. If you feel a 2.1 is worth the extra months in school, by all means stay. |
Hello guys, Pls, how does one pay for SEVIS fee with the new CBN policy allowing Nigerians send money via Western Union? Surely, I do not think one needs to travel to SEME border anymore. |
Hello guys, Can someone help me with information regarding registering for the GMAT? Are Nigerians allowed to register online with the use of credit cards? Thanks. |
Pls, can anyone help me with an explanation of the registration process for the SAT? How do Nigerians get registered? Thanks. |
These artworks are simply awesome. I would love to see what he could do with a paintbrush. |

A colleague of mine got this fictitious call as well just this morning. The caller also gave the same details posing as an old acquaintance. Thank God for this thread on Nairaland with which I was able to quickly verify that it was a looming scam. |

Lynbrook: ONGOING ADMISSION IN ZENITH UNIVERSITY COLLEGE JANUARY SECTION!!!!I'm not really familiar with universities in Ghana but I'll advice any student hopeful of securing admission to Ghanaian schools to conduct proper research. Not all her institutions are applaudable. Here is a link to get started. www.nairaland.com/1562398/nigerian-students-study-one-block-portakabin |
canrelocate: Most master's program in Canada are partly funded by the Government, so selection are mostly based on merit and competition is usually tough too because more and more people are applying from other countries too with veru high CGPA; if you meet the requirement and can package a good application (research statement/statement of intent) you might be chosen.I intend pursuing my masters program in engineering in Canada. But I'm skeptical about the job prospects one has upon completion of the degree. I once chatted with a Chinese guy online. This guy came over from China to get a masters degree in engineering in Canada. After finishing his course, he told me he spent about 6 months before he got his current job. He added that engineering companies are quite few ( mostly oil companies) in Canada unlike the US. A lot of engineering graduates leave Canada and migrate to the US to source for jobs because of the few opportunities inherent in Canny. Can engineering graduates living and working in canada comment on this so we can have a foresight of what'shappening over there? |
Guys, what's TRV and at what stage is it required? I'm still at the 'preparing for GRE stage' but I'll like to understand each and every step as I follow through the thread. |
batteryempty: Hey, just in case you need a date on December 6, 7, 14, & 20 in Abidjan, Cote d' Ivoire let me know. When is the last date for registration for the GRE exam as against the December 20 test date? |
Pls, do canadian universities give consideration to GRE scores? Going for engineering. |
Hi guys, what's the status with ETS regarding the close up of nigerian centres? Any hope some centres will be reopened this year? I'm preparing for the GRE but yet to register. |
gracious17: My school offered me an assistantship with full tuition waiver just few days before my visa interview, I hv my I-20 already before the award was given. Gurus, will the soft copy of the letter of the assistantship be enough for the VO, hw do u I present it to VO.Congratulations on your tuition funding. Did you apply for graduate studies? If so, what school? I'm still searching for schools to apply to who are benevolent when it comes to awarding scholarships. Expecting ur reply. |
Hi guys, Just heard about this thread today. Never knew it existed. I've been nursing the ambition of studying for my masters degree in Canada for some time now. I was preparing for the GRE before the cancellation of testing centres in Nigeria. Paused my preparations but may have to pick it up again. I graduated with a second class lower in mechanical engineering in 2010 but finished strongly with a CGPA of 4.49 from my final two years in the university. Pls, what are my chances of funding and who knows of good schools in canada who are generous with scholarships? Thanks. |
Hello guys, I've been following this thread for a few weeks now. I was preparing for the GRE before the unfortunate closure of all nigerian centres. Anyway, i'm not letting that derail my goal of bagging my master's degree from an American / Canadian University. My question goes thus: Is a letter of reference from your undergraduate school absolutely compulsory? I mean having to travel back to school to begin re-acquainting myself with lecturers is not that easy.I graduated about 31/2 years ago with a degree in Mecahanical Engineering. Can't i just get a letter or reference from my place of work or from instructors who have tutored me on one professional course or the other? |
ASOMGAB: Helo guys, i'm idowu damilola emmanuel by name, i'm an ex remite in d just concluded remedial, i'm here 2 guide u pple through and to answer all ur questions on remedial admission, i studied History and int'l studies in rems of which 2day i am now a student in d institution even without writing postjamb, d programme is quite interestin, awaiting ur questions,Hey damilola, I have a younger brother who just registered for the remedial program. Pls, how does one get to fill the citizenship form? He hails from Kogi but resides in Lagos. Also, do u know the criteria used in shortlisting students for the program? Thanks. |
FutureDon: Hi Femi, it would be an arduous task to specifically give you names of ''good schools'' as you didn't state your stats. Thanks for the advice and the URL links. I'm looking at Mechanical Engineering. Anyone on the thread knows of schools that award graduate students scholarships or assistant positions based on GRE scores? |
Hey guys, I'm preparing to write my GRE in December. Looking at Fall 2014 for masters admission. Not really decided on any school yet. Pls, who knows of good schools in US or Canada who offer international students scholarships (not necessarily full) or assistantship positions based on GRE scores? Thanks. |
Pls, are we to expect a third admission list? If so, within what timeframe is it to be released? |
If you have a job that pays you over N200k a month, then you should probably think deeply before resigning. If you are so eager to have your Master's degree, why don't u study for it in Nigeria or enroll for online masters. You can study for a second master's degree in the US if you wish when the opportunity better presents itself. |
