murphy02:oh do u have ur visa already?? |
murphy02:No u can’t.....I heard most people there are those who came to NZ on working holiday visa which I don’t think Naija qualifies for. And also those who are running out on their previous work visa but still have some months on the visa to pass the company probation period which is generally 3 months or more in NZ |
murphy02:Did ask about the stuff.... but unfortunately they Said u need to have worked for them for nothing less than 3 months before they can help with sponsorship. |
murphy02:I really like the way u think and it really shows how determined u are and willing to go... However I don’t have much info on this and u can google it (I know as an apprentice here, you still get paid though not much). and also make research on farms, factories that employ seasonal workers or essentials skill accredited factories. Doesn’t have to be Auckland. I will get info about a company in South Island for u. I know they do but I’m not sure what the criteria is, or if they employ from oversea. Then u can research better. |
solin:Is not.... You looking at it from the perspective of what They call factory job at home.....You will earn a very decent life with this...... probably earn more than some people in the offices depending on how much time u put into it and your strength.... sorry I can’t go further on this |
Kongi123:I have advised this before that the worst visa to come to NZ with, with hope of settling down is a visitor visa.... but I won’t discourage anyone who already made up their mind probably because of the news on the internet......Things u read online are different from what is really happening sometimes I will rather go to a country with larger population than NZ and with larger population of my race or illegal immigrants or where I can easily seek asylum than NZ . NZ is a small country with population of less than 5M and things are not so easy to shortcut. |
Taofeekdboy:I’m only here to give few people some idea.... pls I won’t entertain any question about my personal life and with questions like this I might close the thread...sorry |
solin:I don’t know, I suggest u check their website. There are 2 guys we do same physical job together who have PhD from Egypt and Kenya and another lady with 3 M.Sc from an Africa country doing cleaning job. And few Nigerians I know with B.Sc, including myself are doing factory job if that tells you something....but I stand to be corrected by those who know more. Best is to get another qualification from here. |
solin:ok I will when I’ve got the time to take some |
murphy02:I don’t think South Korea is anyway better than NZ. Or are they running away because they could no longer handle the long flight. If u could get NZ visa, then SK visa shouldn’t be impossible. |
murphy02:I was invited by my partner.... so her passport data page or any photo ID |
solin:You can arrive anytime but Summer is Advisable as winter will freeze your ass if u are not use to it.... There will always be jobs round the year I can’t really remember the months but maybe anytime from October or late September. Just remember when US is in winter, we NZ is summer....just opposite .. It’s getting a little warmer now. |
solin:with that I’m not sure as INZ is switching to e-visa for all temporary visas... but that should not be any problem.... I met an Indian guy in Honk long during my stopover and he had student e-visa. We both arrived in Auckland and I can’t remember him having any issues. E- visa is INZ policy and not yours. The Airline will confirm the visa. |
murphy02:book South Africa Airways....Route it through Johannesburg and Honk Kong... Then u don’t need any transit visa..... any other route, you might need one.... A guy I met here on Nland help me out then and was even cheaper. But for no reason I was called out after checking in and they ask for my host ID before allowing me proceed....Don’t know if it will be different if I couldn’t provide that. |
iwanvisityankee:sorry I don’t know much about that. |
solin:Did everything myself but my wife is from NZ. |
solin:When I came to NZ on a 9 month partnership visa, while I was waiting to get my work visa. I tried my best possible to get an under table job but couldn’t. The African community in my area tried their best too but nobody listened because it’s illegsl and dangerous for them too.... only an accredited employer can sponsor a potential employee on an essential skill. But before then, they have to prove to INZ that they have advertised the position severally and couldn’t find a local for the position. If I wasn’t in Auckland, maybe I would have find a fruit picking job on the farms Even though they will pay u less and sometimes don’t pay u as they believe h can’t report them Anyway I finally met a local business owner who was ready to sponsor after I worked for 10hrs without pay to prove myself. But luckily for me, my long awaited work permit came two days later. And I never return to him because it was a very hard landscaping job. So what I’m trying to say is that the duration of ur visit visa also matters because they can only sponsor u while u have a valid visa. It’s all depends on how much people u can connect with especially locals and willing to tell somebody that knows somebody. African don’t own a lot of businesses here so it’s not as easy for blacks to connect with a potential employer as it may be for Indians and Asians that had flooded the country and businesses. But since accomodation is sure from a friend, then u are safe on that side as u will have to cough out at least $180 weekly on rent and bills as a flat mate. |
solin:CBD is good but I don’t know much about accomodation as most peeps around are student sharing flat. It’s more of a business and office area. And d common jobs around there is sales and construction as a lot of construction is going on there... U might be lucky to find something around there. Factories are more to the south and west of Auckland to my best of knowledge. And accomodation is a bit easier and cheaper in d suburb than in d city...u can easily connect CBD by train and buses...usually 5-6$. How many months is ur visa? |
klbakare:that’s enough as long as u can prove that d fund is available for ur use.... but if u can build it higher to be on d safer side.... Better to have it in ur account but not deposited in a lump sum..... u can read about this on other thread |
solin:firstly, which city are u looking to come to. I need to know this as accomodation and job differs. About getting a job while on a visit visa , it’s not impossible as I believe not everybody in NZ have the right visa to be here or work legally... but u have to sort that out yourself...... but if u are very lucky to get a company that can sponsor u on an essential work visa. Which means ur visa depends on d job. And u can only work with that company. Have in mind, that no agency will sponsor u. So it has to be directly with the company.... which is not impossible but might be difficult.... but everything is networking. But I will advise u to rather come on a student visa, as this will allow u to work 20hrs a week and also give u a couple of post study work visa and u can go from there. Visit or tourist visa is d worst anybody can travel with if u looking to settle down. Except u have someone on ground to help u |
ikelords:becareful with d information u share bro.... what kind of job do u intend to do to get 3k USD as a JJC?? whats your profession. 3k USD is equal about. 5k NZD at the moment. I dont think u can make that doing menial job after tax....dont be sold a false dream. NZ is great with grest life style but it comes with a price |
Mosesoly:Yinka u crazy..... how do u know it's me......by the way text ur contact to my Nigeria number if u still have it or drop ur email and I will get back to u. how have u been?? |
can't believe u guys kept this thread alive... im sorry I had even forgotten about this account but I will try and respond to some of ur question |
jjbest123:It wasn't the weaves, but the intention behind it..... She took too many and the officer believed she's coming to do business and not to school as that wasn't unusual with people coming in with student visa and never attend a class.....she could have claimed it was for her personal use and the worst that could have happened in that case was impounding those weaves and allowing her in. |
Please I wanna compare the price of buying this car in Nigeria to the cost of sending it. Pleas can anyone help with the current price of a clean one at the moment......preferably lagos price. Thanks |

Dnevasaynevaguy:Terrorism :- The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims. Crime:- An action or omission which constitutes an offence and is punishable by law. Have you seen U.S police fighting terrorist in Syria or Iraq? I hope u could figure out the difference. |
Do u know the difference between "CRIME" and "TERRORISM" ?Everyday, people cry to see Nigerians doing the right thing, and when u see one ,u don't appreciate.......asking a police to burst terrorists, How naive NwaAmaikpe: |
