Having read this post from page one to this very last post before my comment, I will say you are the second nicest Nairalander I’ve come across. Your help are sincere, apt, straight and laced with humility. So far no abusive response. Even when questions you have answered earlier are asked, you treat them without any iota of abuse. You spotted two fake visa but then again you asked commenters to hold on not to brand them fake yet. Bro, you are GOOD! May God open doors for you, bless the works of your hand and enlarge you coast. Please keep up, be you, don’t change.
Thanks so much, feel so humbled by your post.

Cheers

This is what I'm trying to avoid by not wanting to book SAA. The faster route would have been

LOS- JNB- Perth-AKL
Lagos -JNB is 5:50hrs
JNB to PER is 10:00hrs
PER to AKL is 5:00hrs

Total time on air is Max 21 hours, shorter than the HKG route, but you'll be wandering in OR Tambo Intl. Airport for 18 hours before connecting flight to Perth. My last trip to Sydney thought me lesson using SAA. We had to stay in Aspire Lounge and paid $66 for the 18 hours stay. Trying to avoid stay over is why I'm considering alternative outside SAA.
if u really concern about the time, maybe u can check with Etihad.

I remember when my partner visited me in NG it was straight to Auckland from Dubai.... I may wrong, I have to ask but it’s something like that.

Personally I prefer to take my time I will rather pay to stay in a lounge than to die of boredom on air. NZ is far bro......I’m telling u, u need some rest in between.

I'm currently looking into the transit issue.

But let me know something.

Was it a same flight as in

LOS - JNB - HKG- AUK

Or

LOS - JNB

Then you took your baggage and connected another SA flight to Hong Kong?

Firstly once u checking in ur luggage, u don’t get to see it until u arrive NZ. Only ur hand luggage if u have any, is what u have to move .

My flight was.
Los-JNB SAA. 6hrs or so can’t remember
JNB- HKG SAA. 13hrs
HKG-AKL HKG AIRLINE. 11hrs

11 hrs stopover in JNB, 2 hrs in HKG

Oga ooo. Mẹ that U was happy I struck a deal. Let me enquire now.

How did you route your trip when going to NZ?
look into d Transit visa, it’s not something hard but ain’t sure if u need to book first. Or if there’s Qantas office in Lagos, better u talk to them.

I boarded SAA to Johannesburg, Johannesburg - Honk kong, Hong Kong- NZ.
I Met a guy here on nairaland who did a fantastic job for me. He beat prices from all the airline and agency I’d contacted before him and I didn’t have any issue on my way. I will recommend him any day.

Thanks for your response. I want us to discuss this well, before I make payment.

Answer 1. I have to stop at Sydney, then Sydney to Auckland. See what Qantas gave me after doing reservation themselves few hours ago

Do you think they didn't think about it well before doing reservation, knowing it NZ Visa and not AU Visa?
lol..... it’s yours or ur travel agent job to check what u need for your journey before booking the flight and this is why Qantas may not say anything. But in your case, u still have the time to get an Aussie transit..... it’s free I guess. Just look into that before u book. But I’m sure U need a transit to go through Aussie.

Femi, come see deal that i struck oo.

After getting my visa, i want to do a fast one.

Book a flight to Johannesburg from Lagos via SAA.
When i get to Johannesburg, i'll connect Qantas to Auckland.

Lagos to Johannesburg N280,000 return
Johannesburg to Auckland N400,000 return
Total N700,000 and super fast journey

My fear is that will SAA take us to Johannesburg without SA Visa? Though their website says when transiting via any SA airport to connect a flight, you don't need a transit visa

Lets talk

Yes SAA will take u to OR TAMBO Johannesburg without transit visa. If u transit through another airport u will need transit visa.

That’s a good deal but my question is, do u have any stopover between SA and AKL? because Quantas is Aussie airline and I want to believe there will be a stop in Aussie. If there is, u will need a visa for Aussie.

Just check first, if there a stop in Aussie, then u can go through Thailand or Honk kong. You won’t need any transit.

That girl may not even be urs. If she’s not urs, take d secret to ur grave. If she’s urs, then u need to then seek a way to go about it then.

This kind of secret will not only divyur family, it will affect the innocent girl involved. Be sure before u take any step

6M is enough to travel to any country provided u have the right info and guidance. My advise is don’t be in a hurry, take ur time to plan ur journey and how to get the right visa. Don’t just leave on any ridiculous visa type without proper plan on how to go about your stay when u get there.... aso have a plan B.

Hence, it might be from frying pan to fire.

Omg.... Are you serious bro? Jesus
yes nothing like a year visitor visa.... if u have a visa waiver passport, then u will be granted a year visitor pass at the border but u can’t stay more than 3 month in NZ within that one year. And 6 months maximum if you’re from the UK.

General visitor visa is 3 months which can be extended to a maximum stay of 9 month if u have a good reason for extension e.g relationship.

But INZ often grant a straight 9 months visitor visa depending on your circumstances and it’s usually a multiple entry visa which means u can travel in and out of NZ within a year and half (18 months) for a maximum stay of 9 months.

Like, coming with a family of 5.

Father earns around $2k monthly - online business.

Would they be able to survive and what other information
can you give?

SHALOM

What's it like for self employed people down

Life as a self employed isn’t bad, in fact it’s the best anywhere in the world as long as u understand your market.

For a family of 5, you’re most likely to need a 3 bedroom apartment. In West Auckland specifically, such apartments ranges btw 450-700 NZD/Week but I will put the average at $470 depending on suburb and house standard.

Groceries will be around $150/week if u buy from big stores.
Power around $200/ month, Wi fi is about $80. You may have to pay water bill if it’s not included in the rent.

The above calculations amount to about 3k-3.2k NZD/ month. So if the 2k u earn is USD then u should be alright as I believe your partner will also have to get a job at some point to support the family.

P.S : Those figures are just rough estimate and not fact, could be more or less depending on individual lifestyle.

Firstly u do not need a driver license to get a job.

Having a car in any Western country is a necessity and not luxury. What is the essence of having a DL when u don’t have a car to drive. However most agencies or employer want someone who is guaranteed to turn in for work everyday and right on time. That’s why some insist u have your own reliable transport to get to work. Most especially jobs that require early start or late finish this is because most public buses and train only run between 6am till maybe 11 or 12 pm.

There were times I personally started work 4am and also I sometimes finish around 1am. These falls outside the public transportation service hours. So someone like my employer will insist u have ur own transport.

So without a license, u only need to look for job either close to train or bus station and also work within the public transportation hours. Nobody will deny U a job if u can guarantee to turn in early.

If u have a Nigeria driver license, you can drive with it legally for a maximum period of 1 year. And it will save you a lot of stress and money as u wouldn’t need to go through Learners license stage. Once u sit for the theory road code test and pass, u will be given a restricted license.

Do u really need a new passport now? I may be wrong but you can apply with your current passport, and when it expires, get a new one and apply for transfer of visa label to the new one. Your visa is still valid even when the passport expires. U just need a valid passport to make international travel out of where u stay.

Although I have seen cases where embassy could not issue visa beyond the passport validity. Instead of 1yr, I think they gave the guy 10 months or so but why not check with the country’s immigration first and ask same question.

Hello. I need your inputs. I am in a bit of dilemma. - should I go or should I not??,

With student partner work visa : 8 months for a start with possible 1 year extension

I want to know how easy can one get a job in North Dunedin - could be anywhere in country really buy my preference is Dunedin for personal reasons .

Must one hold a driver's license?

Because I'm not sure if my skills will be acceptavle in NZ or not please, like how much can one make with 'any' job. Need some money to further education.

Cc femijck

The visa category you’ve mentioned is a very good one to come to NZ with. It’s an open work visa which means u can work anywhere in NZ and no restrictions on the number of hours u can work, even though ur student partner can only work 20hrs/w

The choice of which city to stay will depend on your personal research. Dunedin is down the South Island, very cold and jobs might be hard to get. I personally would advise North island.

But if u choose to stay in Dunedin, working on a farm or hospitality might be something to consider. I haven’t been to Dunedin but I believe students of Otago University are those who majorly come to NZ to live there.

When u run out of extension, if ur employer is accredited, then they can sponsor u for another 2-3 yrs essential skill visa.

P.S; remember u have to live with your student partner to qualify for an extension..... if extension is not possible, then it’s not worth it.

Also your situation in Nigeria is something to consider, do u have a good job? What do u stand to loose if u risk leaving? Is it worth it??
When I say good job, I mean a job paying u 400k upward

The letter in a mail was send to me by the agent thru whatapps message .so I can't get the sender mail id.
So have you talk to your agent and what did he say? The kind of visa described to u is called ‘Essential skill visa’ which is granted when employer couldn’t find people to do their job locally or among people who have legal right to work. However the letter sent to u is seriously doubtful. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of it being genuine but 99% scam.

If u have ur application and passport number, I can share a link here where u can check ur immigration status. It will show approval and date if it’s real

I applied thru an agent and the package states that they will get us a farm job plus feeding and accommodation.
The agent said an invitation letter will be send by the company for the processing of the visa .later he said the type of visa he will do for us is visiting and that after 3 months the company will process our work permit.

I will forward the letter sent by NZ immigration later .
Is this a letter in the email or an email? If it’s an email, can u pm me sender address. But th English in the letter is not NZ English and not INZ letter format. Most of the words in the letter are not in correlation with INZ letter template.
