Do u really need a new passport now? I may be wrong but you can apply with your current passport, and when it expires, get a new one and apply for transfer of visa label to the new one. Your visa is still valid even when the passport expires. U just need a valid passport to make international travel out of where u stay. Although I have seen cases where embassy could not issue visa beyond the passport validity. Instead of 1yr, I think they gave the guy 10 months or so but why not check with the country’s immigration first and ask same question. |
It’s not even that expensive...... |
Read what I just included in my previous post.....If what u wanna discuss is not something very confidential, I would advise u ask here for others to learn. But if it’s confidential send me a comprehensive email in ur PM and I will reply as soon as I can witgig: |
witgig:The visa category you’ve mentioned is a very good one to come to NZ with. It’s an open work visa which means u can work anywhere in NZ and no restrictions on the number of hours u can work, even though ur student partner can only work 20hrs/w The choice of which city to stay will depend on your personal research. Dunedin is down the South Island, very cold and jobs might be hard to get. I personally would advise North island. But if u choose to stay in Dunedin, working on a farm or hospitality might be something to consider. I haven’t been to Dunedin but I believe students of Otago University are those who majorly come to NZ to live there. When u run out of extension, if ur employer is accredited, then they can sponsor u for another 2-3 yrs essential skill visa. P.S; remember u have to live with your student partner to qualify for an extension..... if extension is not possible, then it’s not worth it. Also your situation in Nigeria is something to consider, do u have a good job? What do u stand to loose if u risk leaving? Is it worth it?? When I say good job, I mean a job paying u 400k upward |
ugsams:Welcome to NZ bro.... ur contributions are welcome |

Ok iwanvisityankee: |
byod:So have you talk to your agent and what did he say? The kind of visa described to u is called ‘Essential skill visa’ which is granted when employer couldn’t find people to do their job locally or among people who have legal right to work. However the letter sent to u is seriously doubtful. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility of it being genuine but 99% scam. If u have ur application and passport number, I can share a link here where u can check ur immigration status. It will show approval and date if it’s real |
byod:Is this a letter in the email or an email? If it’s an email, can u pm me sender address. But th English in the letter is not NZ English and not INZ letter format. Most of the words in the letter are not in correlation with INZ letter template. |
What kind of visa did u apply for? |
Too bad of such a blessed country.....what kind of late hour borrowing is that..... why embark on a stupid project one month to election.... the intention is crystal clear

NPF is the greatest problem in Naija not politicians. What do u expect when criminals and murderers are the law enforcers. |
Yes I am. cascas: |

While the world is still waiting for 2019, let’s share some photos from those of us who are already in the new year. FIY NZ is 12 hours ahead of Nigeria at the moment. Which makes it the second fastest time in the world with Samoa leading with just one Hour. Pictures taken at the Auckland sky tower

That’s a good deal mate, u don’t need a transit visa for Honk kong and they’ve got a very good Airline to NZ davodyguy: |
davodyguy:lol.... ur post cracked me up bro..... all good, better stick to ur ewedu o >: ![]() |
davodyguy:ok I gat that now..... bros u no try o...... so u can’t do without Naija food for one week...Lol I haven’t taste Naija food since I moved here.... u can buy a whole box of the coke and keep in ur fridge. Might only cost around $10 and will save u heaps. Always buy ur stuff in bulk from big stores. For instance a Box of 15 bottles of Heineken cost me $30 at west liquor yesterday but each bottle will cost me around 7-8$ each at the pub. NZL is expensive, may be because it’s the second safest country in the world I don’t have any idea |
I think your airfare is too high. How many stops? your miscellaneous abit low for 6 days as you will be buying foods or do u plan to make your food..... Even small bottle of beer can cost upto $8 or more depending on the pub davodyguy: |
davodyguy:They have VAC all around the world but decided to shut down most of them last year due to staff exploitation and maltreatment in some of the VACs. Also the fact that they see your data page doesn’t mean it’s a legitimate passport. They have the right to request for the real passport if they have concerns or needs to verify. If you are onshore, it might be different because you can take a copy for certification by a Justice of Peace available at most Citizen’s advice bureau. |
No, on what ground would u qualify for a resident visa.......your friend can only sponsor his immediate family like his spouse or kids.....apart from his spouse and dependent kids, no other person can’t get a resident visa through him. For the spouse to qualify, they don’t even have to be married, but must have been living together for a minimum of 12 months with solid evidence of partnership and public recognition of them as couple iwanvisityankee:he can also sponsor a close relative like siblings for visit visa and if they meet the requirements of a bonafide visitor. And have a very genuine reason to wanna visit. Still that doesn’t guarantee d visa |
Sponsor u for what exactly? iwanvisityankee: |
lantrenzo:yeap wait for the email it might not come in until mid or late January as some part of INZ is closed for Xmas. When did u apply and has ur account been debited with d visa fee yet? |
People who have applied online should contribute please. When I did mine,it was a paper application so I sent everything to Pretoria including my passport via FedEx express and also UPS at some point.... If your passport was not requested for in the email, I don’t think you have to. when ur application is approved, and they need to see ur pp, it might show “approved in principle” and then they will request for the real pp and any other documents before issuing d visa. I haven’t done any online application before as I prefer to send all hard copy of my documents. And I’m wondering, if the Pretoria office is still open. According to the local news I read, I thought it’s been closed. lantrenzo:p.s if your pp is needed, you will be notify and be given a deadline. I believe that’s how it works. Cheers |
