See all the bolded
"I intend" and "I can"
means you are not sure yet.

Your brother in real estate shows he has no liquid funds and we all know how long it takes to sell a property, especially in ABK
The property points of Nigeria are Lagos, Abj, and PHC even at that you would not even sell it off with the snap of a finger. it tells them that you might be stranded at some point and would have to look for other means to survive.

"Politician" is not a profession.
Thanks bruh

Please ooo what did you guys suggest for me to do I can still defer my admission to spring so I can get funds but with This three transcript what did you see so I can work on or I should go to complete my hnd and apply for Masters? Thanks so much
TravelRe: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Femotech123: 1:05am On May 20, 2022
UmmZayd:
1. Just as the VO said, it's not cheap. None of the two(23k and 49k)
2. If DSO said funding will be decided by end of May, why didn't you wait for decision before going for the interview?
3. How was your 1st and 2nd interview was it same school??
1. Okay. I should haven’t mentioned that first. Learn my mistakes.
2. It’s Lagos embassy I try to reschedule it’s 2024 i am seeing, no EA again expect i switch to Abj.
3. My first and second was same school same course
But third one is another school and another course.
Thanks for your opinion and time. Looking forward to your response about this also

You are are 25 going for a bachelor's degree. Strike one.
You got into an argument with the Consular Officer about whether it was inexpensive or not. Strike two.
Your brother who is in politics is funding you, so where is his money coming from? The assumption is corruption. Strike three.
.
Thanks for your opinion but his money is legit, apart he is a politician he has his own personal business that is running. So the money is not from politics.

Moshkom:
Oh! Sorry for the denial bro.

I won’t lie, You failed in preparation. I doubt you did proper mock(s) before the interview.

You really have to act up towards your next application.

Maybe;

- Change school to one with low Cost of Attendance.
Check out TRUMAN STATE UNI, they automatically gives 10k to international students and their COA is ‘just’ 28k. Minus the 10k, your sponsor would now have ‘just’ 18k to cover has deficit

- Do proper prep talks, mock and know-how before you next visa interview, with someone that is more knowledgeable in this field.

- Your Parent should be your best sponsor in the Undergraduate path. If they can’t in this ‘primary level’ of yours, then try to convince the VO why your uncle is taking their position.

PS: In MOSHKOM’s words “Dem no dey rush go embassy oh”.
Because this one you are already calculating your SEVIS payment expiring date against your next possible interview date ehn, calm down oh.

- Don’t forget NOT to apply to COMMUNITY COLLEGE.
- Don’t forget to apply at the right age range.

Good luck Young Champ!!!
Okay sir thank you so much. I’m not rushing just asking about the sevis only.

I dont really get your question,,but from your transcript you have attended visa interview bfo right and submitted ds 160 for that right?

They see changes in your ds once they open your info, yes. They will see that you filled this course the ist time and now changed to another .

So get ready to explain why the change of course if you re asked.
Okay bro thanks. Now I understand

My input is that you should have wait to secure funding ist, yea. It will greatly help you this time and changing course is a very big red flag.

I wish you luck
Oh is that real ? Another red flag but will they still have someone course of study still? Since we aren’t mentioned it in our ds 160 or any application just on our i20 only

So to my knowledge, when the VO asks "why you chose this university" most people think its about stating facts about the school is the answer lol, that can be gotten from the internet , you gotta look for something that actually makes sense, for instance you said its "cheap enough for you", that right there is good enough. Stating google fact doesnt necessary give a personal reason why that uni. for instance you can even go ahead and say oh I choose this school
cos its cheap and I also heard it snows in that area
during the winter and im really excited to see the snow as I have never experienced it before (my statement is just to make it more personalized to you) you dnt necessary have to state facts about the school that u read on the website. just my opinion
Thanks brother I really appreciate please check your mail okay

Bigsecret:
This does not sound convincing enough for me.

Reword your “why course” and why school? Give me something more aside from ranking. They are ranked the largest, so, what does that do for you? How did that ranking help you choose the school.

Your answers are a little bit too generic, I will need you to dig deeper and provide more personalized answers

I know it’s a lot on your part, and I wish you all the best as you navigate this phase!
Okay brother thanks

Hello guys…. just got an admission my COA is 23k I use my brother SOA to collect my i20 but they indicate the exact amount of his SOA on my i20 which is 49k after they have converted it in their own rate. They haven’t made my funding decision yet but have also save over the years toward this step and it’s about 1m+ Don’t know the amount in USA if they convert it again but hopefully maybe it will be 2-3k. Hope it won’t be a red flag for me at the embassy if they see I have a personal funding of that amount. It will be indicated on my i20 because i am about to send my personal SOA.
Kindly advise pls.

Getting funding after starting your program is easier than getting funding as a fresh student.
Also, you'll be open to a lot of other funding options like working in the diner, or photocopier centre or the library.

Let's connect on the EIU level
Let connect also I applied to EIU but I haven’t heard anything from them yet. How many days did you wait for admission decision.

VISA APPROVED✅✅
First of all, I’m very grateful to everyone who posts on this forum. I’ve been an avid reader of every transcript posted here and I vowed to join and post mine when I get my visa as this forum helped me a lot!
Visa approved Tuesday 07/12/2021 Abuja consulate
Appointment time was 9:15am I got there 8:15am but was interviewed around 12:15pm because there was only 1 VO, the bald white man…he was nice.
VO: Good morning please pass your I-20 passport, DS 160 confirmation and visa fee receipt
Me: Passes documents
VO: So where are you going to in the United States?
Me: I’m going to northern Illinois University dekalb Illinois.
VO: What are you going there to do
Me: I’m going for my master’s in public health
VO: Why public health?
Me: Public health is in continuation with what I studied as an undergrad which is medicine and surgery. While I was in medical school and even as a practicing doctor I realized one of the problems that plagued patients was lack of access to healthcare. Public health will give me the knowledge I need to work with the federal ministry of health and key stakeholders in the health sector to develop and implement policies that improve patient’s access to healthcare.
VO: Have you traveled out of the country before?
Me: Yes I have, I’ve been to the United Kingdom
VO: Oh really what did you go there to do?
Me: I’ve gone for different reasons- went on vacation a couple of times, went for a fashion show and went to present one of my publications in a medical conference
VO: What do you do here in Nigeria?
Me: I work as a research assistant at bleep teaching hospital. Prior to that, I was a practicing medical doctor for a year.
VO: What plans do you have after the public health?
Me: I’ll come back to Nigeria to work hand in hand with the federal ministry of health and health maintenance organizations to improve on those policies I mentioned earlier that will improve patient’s access to healthcare. I will also return to my Alma mater where I’m currently working as a research assistant to lecture
VO: Who will be sponsoring your education?
Me: My parents
VO: What do they do?
Me: My mom is a corporate lawyer. She’s a senior manager at bleep in Abuja and my dad is a barrister and solicitor, he represents clients in court. I also received a merit based partial tuition waiver
VO: Oh nice and how much is the waiver?
Me: About 7,000 dollars. I noticed the VO was looking for the waiver on my I-20 so I quickly informed him that the waiver came in after I had received my I-20. I tried emailing the school to send an updated I-20 but they refused and said the letter stating the tuition waiver should suffice and I should present it along with my financials if I’m asked for proof.
VO: Okay your application sounds good, I will be approving your visa. So I’ll keep your passport, you can pick it up in about a week. You’ll need your I-20 at the port of entry keep it with you at all times. This white paper will give you information on how to pick up your passport.
Me: Thank you very much, have a good day!
NB: No documents were asked for, nothing not even bank statements
Congrats to you
