FamilyRe: Closing Arguments On Friendzoning And "Nice Guys Finish Last" by Feraz(m): 6:41am On Nov 24, 2014
symbian03:
But honestly, what's bad in having female friends without the so called benefits? sex is just overrated cry . I've got so many female friends and I do stuffs for them without expecting anything in return like I would for any male counterpart. Am I being a fool here? definitely not! So if I've got 50 female friends, would going intimate with all of them give me that 'smart guy' title most guys wants? undecided
Nope! The writeup isn't talking about you gaining sex from female friends and all. Friendzone is not about you having benefits from female friends, it's about loving one out of all your female friends but she not reciprocating this love. She knows you do love her and will go any length to prove this fact but instead of letting you go, she doesn't. It hurts sometimes especially when you know your intentions are genuine. Some go the extent of scuttling your chances with others just cos they want you being around them, showing them that attention they so want.
Funny thing, when you are hooked up with someone else, she becomes jealous and start showing you all the love you once wished for.

And Ihedinobi my n*gga strikes back!!! grin Where's wackyj1 to complete this? wink
FamilyRe: House Maid Beat Young Child To Near Death In Uganda (video) by Feraz(m): 10:21am On Nov 23, 2014
When I told people I won't bother having a maid, people saw it as a joke telling me when my future wife is pregnant, who will do the cleaning, the washing and all? I said I will and it sounded impossible to 'em all.

God knows I wouldn't know what I will be capable of should the above happen to me. I mean, using my child, a toddler for that matter as a training ground.

A vicious cycle of hatred it is. Being treated as below human and the person in turn, takes it out on a weaker person which in turn takes it out on a weaker person and it goes on like that.

You sir, I'm sorry to say have this mentality of what many undergraduates here in Nigeria complain about their lecturers. You among the school of people who believe whatever a professeur says is the ultimate judging from your above post. You believe a child is wrong whenever an adult speaks up. You believe the professeur being discussed here can never be wrong but the above post you quoted is wrong.

The truth is people are trying to save trees for the world to go back to being the way it was.

And Africanapple, that's a hasty generalisation. Not everyone love abbreviations when writing. I for one, hate such. I must have done it sometime back when I had my first phone but not anymore.
BusinessRe: Naira Now 172 Naira To A Dollar. Why? by Feraz(m): 6:05pm On Nov 14, 2014
jeffmyson:
The fact remains that the dollar against the naira has been artificially pegged by the CBN through its various interventions in the Money Market with our scarce reserves. I am of the opinion that the CBN should devalue the naira and allow the market forces to determine rate not speculations. The Russians tried as much as they could to defend the Ruble and finally threw in the towel some few weeks back and allowed the currency to slide! When speculators found out that there is no money to be made, they left the market and the currency is stable now but a significant depreciation.

The real price of dollar should be around N200 to N230. A weak naira is even an advantage to the economy as it will discourage imports and spur industrialization. The problem is we are an importing nation with everyone trying to join the import business even here in Nairaland you find lots of advert on imports businesses. Every clown in Nigeria wants to become an importer as that has become a toga of status 'I am an importer". A devalued currency will encourage exports and make imported commodities uncompetitive. People will have to start putting on Aba made Shoes, made in Nigeria cars will sell, made in Nigeria diapers will sell, made in Nnewi spare parts will sell, made in Lagos clothes will sell, made in Kano Fabrics will become competitive. Nigerians should learn to consume local things, its our pride.

My take is that the naira slide is caused by our incompetent economic managers since 1979, who failed to steer the economy away from resource dependence to Industrialization. GEJ is not the problem, the market is just reacting to its forces. A weaker naira is a good omen for me.
Nice input but how many Nigerians are ready to wear made in Nigeria products? Even looking at what is happening here where someone tells you he can never buy any goods made in Nigeria; how do you stop this mentality? We need re-orientation as a people to move forward.
dragon2:
Our current plight is more economic than political. As our population grows, import consumption will grow if no attempt is made at local
production.Demand for foreign currency ($)will grow as a result. If exports don't grow with population or imports don't fall, dollar demand for imports will put pressure on the Naira resulting in depreciation. Pegging the currency only drains the reserves rapidly and leads to the same
result, devaluation. The fact we are in a global community suggests only one solution. Industrialisation. We have to become like the country we
buy most of our goods from (in terms of Industrial production).

3 things come to mind we need to work on.

Logistics: It has to be easy to move huge volumes of goods from the North to our ports and evacuate it rapidly. This means ALL ports must be
in full use. We need rail.lots and lots of it. The North is poor because of education, but also logistics. North of Nigeria is desert and
poverty. To sell goods we need rail connecting the North to the ports not just lagos (too congested). We need to dredge the Niger and benue.
(chai God bless us with two North/South and East/West going rivers).Connect rail from the towns to the rivers and with river ports to the sea ports.
The rail system does not have to be expensive high speed rail, we need capacity and capability first. Some rails don't even need to be standard gauge if it is too costly. We need rails built by civil service, what we build is to get the poor out of poverty not to look like the rich. Two iron rails with wooden sleeper and local stone ballast is a start, no need for concrete.
Rail to Ecowas will help Nigeria, rail to cameroon will help commercial activity in the East.and rail to Niger and chad, the North. All these connected to river ports along the Niger/Benue.

Electricity: All Finished goods almost Universally have electricity applied or required in the finishing process. No Electricity,no
industry,no exports = poverty.Electricity gives birth to Industry and Industry is the reward for education. No Industry,no drive for education. If education and hard work is not rewarded with wealth, corruption rises to astronomical levels.

Agriculture:
We have no business importing food.Period! Farmers ran away from Agriculture early-on because their seed could not yield as much as
the new varieties being developed in the west. This forced down the prices of imported food. Also, we just didn't help farmers mechanise.
Things are changing though,we are beginning to apply science into Agric. We need as a major industrial priority more Agic processing and storage
chains along future rail-lines to bring farms to processors and storage units. We can't be losing food year in year out to poor storage. Food
should be produced based on future contracts backed by insurance so that farmers know they will be paid. This means that both farmer and
processors can expand their business.

Note. The entire cotton farms in Nigeria collapsed when the textile industry collapsed. These industries collapsed because we abandoned
rail, and stopped expanding electricity production. That is the effect of electricity and logistics on Agric.
We have to be as or near as logistically efficient as most of western europe is if we want to dramatically reduce imports and raise local production; and we have two rivers to help. wink wink
I wish the politics being played in Nigeria is clean and not bitter. How many regions will agree with what you have put up there?
Electricity is the driving factor here. We really need to get this up and running otherwise cost of production will continue to be on the high side.

@Graviton and Feraz haven't seen any of your art lately see mine
Men, I have exams at hand. So drawing will be a little awkward on my part.

Infinite tsukuyomi dispelled. They all happy that the war was won. To think Sasuke was pardoned by the villages makes it cool. Did not really envision it ending like that.

Naruto and Hinata finally! grin Guess Kishi saw/read our threats. hehehe!! Firestar, are they twins or is Bolt older? Naruto looks so cool as the hokage. Fast also like his dad. Bolt has Naruto's face, hair colour and hair shape, also has Hinata's eyes, hair shape also.

Shikamaru and Temari - their son took after Shika's looks but has Temari's eyes.

Chouji and Karui, weird combination. To think Anko became fat, yuck!!!

Sai and Ino, hmmm. Kid looks weird.

Who is that chick Kiba married? They be combining pets. Akamaru is so old.

Kiba became a sensei.

Temari into sales of weapons.

The mizukage did not marry a man of her choice, aged and fat! angry I fear Tsunade oh!!!

Sasuke and Sakura - weird kid. Has Sasuke's hair and eyes, Sakura's facial geometry, wears Karin's kinda glasses. which begs the question - did Sasuke happen by chance to do Karin and used some ninjutsu on Sakura? grin grin Guess Sakura finally got what she wanted.

Who noticed Naruto and Sasuke, Madara and Hashirama, Hizuren and Danzo played similar roles? One is the hokage protecting the village in the light while the other protects from the shadows?

And why is Salada stalking Bolt? Love? Admiration?
CareerRe: The Nigerian Engineer And The Oil/Gas Career Mentality by Feraz(op):
Tiimmy:

I totally disagree with you here sir. If you think Engineers in the Oil & Gas industry do absolutely nothing and yet get paid ridiculous amount of money then you really need to have a re-think.

I assume you do not work currently in the Oil & Gas industry, thats probably why its so easy to jump into unrealistic conclusions. There is a great deal of brain work involved here sir, and working conditions (depending on where one is posted) is'nt as "conducive" as you stated. Health risks is also involved in this line of duty (hence the high salary in most cases).
It's funny how you just concluded that I think the Engineers in the oil/gas industry just sit there doing nothing. Did you see where I made reference to the mentality of undergraduates who posses this flawed thinking? But in your bid to point out my flaw, you left the first part of how the write-up was started.
Tiimmy:
It will surprise you to know sir, that in terms of number, there are actually more Mechanical Engineers in the oil & gas industry than any other field of Engineering. As a matter of fact sir, there are actually more Elect-Elect Engineers than Petroleum Engineers in the industry. Try and do some research on this...
Of course, there may be; I have no idea. All I wanted to do in this write-up was to point out the various fields we Engineers in the country can work on instead of many waiting to work in the oil/gas industry.
Tiimmy:
I happen to be a Mechanical Engineer too sir (with relevant working experience in different sectors - oil & gas included), and its really sad to see that a fellow Mechanical Engineer knows very little about this wonderful field. That being said, the focus on oil & gas in Nigeria has little to do with indigenous Engineers or Investors for that matter; its more of a governmental issue. The Agricultural Industry and many more noble industries are suffering same fate as we speak. The light issue is more than enough reason for Investors to think twice. Oil & Gas industries on the other hand wouldn't mind spending to power their industries, as the excesses would be transferred to the prices of oil in the market.
I never said I had the knowledge to all that happens in the oil/gas industry. I even alluded to my ignorance about the field in the original write-up. About the government issue, you are right on that but what efforts have we as Engineers made to make the government realize this problem facing us as a nation?
Tiimmy:
Very surprising statement sir, especially with the "local content" act taking full effect. More indigenous Engineers are getting jobs for this singular act. Are you aware that "Saipem" was banned for violation of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGID) Act Research harder bro. If you do not know, simply ask. Are they performing superbly?? NO, but they are not as insignificant/usless as you make them seem.

Generally I think the OP is just a year 3rd or year 4th student (might not be an Engineering student), with deluded ideas about things he knows very little about. Or a recent graduate frustrated by his inability to hold down a job.. No offence meant here bro, but as Enlightening as you think this post is, it is very much flawed with absurd assumptions.
Another flawed assumptions on your part sir, making the same mistake you accused me of. Before I put this write-up, I went through the site for contents of both organisations to see if there was anything new but I was disappointed. No matter how little, they should keep their members informed. Of course, the ideas might be deluded in a country like Nigeria but people who want something different from the norm will agree with me. That being said, is anything wrong if a 3rd or 4th year undergraduate puts up the above because it sounds like no matter what they notice happening around them, they should suck it up; if someone who is frustrated with getting a job puts the above also, is anything wrong? At least, when we stop focusing on one particular commodity and diversify, I believe jobs will be created directly and indirectly and the person will barely have a reason to complain of lack of job.

Then again sir, did you read it till the end? If you did, you'd have seen this part -
Also, for anything I am ignorant about in the above write-up, please, do correct me as I am still acquiring knowledge. Then again, I am not generalizing in the above write-up neither am I saying one should not work in the oil/gas sector because every branch of Engineering is needed in the sector.
I made mention of my ignorance here, even Naijababe who works in the oil/gas industry and others saw where I alluded to it. You also hinted that I think only Petroleum Engineers are in the oil/gas industry when I also mentioned that other branches are needed as seen in the phrase bolded; if you didn't read to the end, it is sad that you did not hence your response.

I never said I know it all, neither am I insulting or making a snide remark on any profession. My aim is to help us rethink our priorities as Engineers, see the vast opportunities that abound in the profession and create a common front to achieve this. Thank you also for your numerous corrections. smiley

Have you considered how Sakura is toward Sasuke whom she loves? What's the difference between that and Hinata's attitude toward Naruto? Or do you think Sakura's behavior toward Naruto right now is love? smiley Should NaruSaku ever happen Sakura will change.

Sakura risks her life for Naruto as often as she does because they're on the same military unit and do their missions together. It's a professional obligation except that in the military professional obligations tend to become emotional as well. Hinata's own risking of her life is far more epic because she is supposed to have weaker ties to Naruto than Sakura does. Do you see how far Sakura went for Sasuke? Now, that's what Hinata would have done for Naruto if she was on the very same team as him.

Again, if Naruto rejects Hinata, he will have created a whole new meaning for mõron.
EPIC!!!! LMAO!!!!!

She never even liked the dude despite all he's done for her. He's in the eternal friendzone with Sakura. Like I said before, should NarutoHinata not happen, I'm going on a business trip to Japan.
