would obviously be Rh+. During child birth, once
the baby’s Rh+ comes in contact with the
woman Rh- during delivery, the antibodies are
immediately activated by the woman’s body’s
immune system.
The activated antibodies would see the new Rh+
as foreign body or a threat and consequently
they would be at alert to attack and get rid of
the foreign body. Unfortunately as such, after
this particular child birth, the woman would keep
having miscarriages because the activated
antibodies would see subsequent Rh+
pregnancies as foreign bodies and would keep
fighting and taking them off.
Women with Rh activated antibodies are said to
be Rh sensitized and once these antibodies are
activated , they can never be deactivated until
the woman dies. Rh induced antibodies are
activated in a Rh- woman by child birth, abortion,
miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy.
If a Rh– woman commits an abortion for a Rh+
man and the antibodies are activated in her
system, the woman might end up childless
throughout her life except if she later marries
another man with with the same Rh–. The
possibility of a Rh– woman finding a Rh– man is
slim as about 85% of human beings are Rh+.
This is a warning to our young girls who commits
abortions all in the name of boyfriend-girlfriend
relationships.

IMO State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, yesterday, said that he allowed monarchs in the state to elect their leader, instead of being appointed by him in order to deepen democracy in the state.

In a statement to newsmen in Owerri, by Okorocha’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha also congratulated Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, on his emergence as the state chairman of Imo traditional rulers council.
It will be recalled that Ohiri who polled 59 votes to emerge winner defeated Eze Chidume Okoro, who polled 19 votes and Eze Oliver Ohanwe who got three votes.

The governor said that he expected Ohiri to be a team player and see everybody as indispensable in running the affairs of the council.
He also urged him to embrace his challengers who lost in the election and tap from their wealth of knowledge.

According to the release, “With the peaceful manner the traditional rulers elected their delegates at the local government level and the commendable manner they conducted themselves and elected their chairman and other principal officers into the Traditional Rulers Council; it would be right to say that the traditional rulers in the state are not only the custodians of our culture and tradition but also custodians of democratic ideals.”

The founder and Spiritual Leader of INRI Evangelical and Spiritual Church, Oke Afa, Isolo, Lagos, Primate Elijah Ayodele, insists that President Muhammadu Buhari’s chances of winning the 2019 presidential poll are bright but warned him against not doing things properly. He also advised Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, whose victory ahead of his 2014 governorship election he also predicted, not to enter the presidential race because he will lose. Ayodele warned, as well, against former Vice President Abubakar Atiku’s presidential bid but saw a positive thing coming for Nigeria as far as the World Cup qualification was concerned. Ayodele spoke while explaining his 220-page revelations book, titled, ‘Warnings to the Nations (WTN), 2017/2018 edition’.

Meanwhile, Fayose, who drew closer to the Ikere-Ekiti-born Lagos-based prophet after the latter predicted his victory in the 2014 election, has turned back to now portray him as a fake prophet. This the governor did in a reaction published on page six of the New Telegraph of December 24 to the Ayodele’s 2017/2018 edition of WTN. In the reaction he termed “fake prediction from Primate Babatunde Ayodele”, Fayose, quoting the prediction, had said, “PDP will lose the forthcoming election in Ekiti if they don’t take drastic steps in getting the hearts of the people. The question is which hearts of the people is he talking about? Ekiti PDP is already in the hearts of the people.” The governor did not react when the prediction favoured him in 2014 and this is why some analysts described politicians’ arrogance and failure to partner with spiritual leaders in nation-building as a major challenge. But the Primate, who has always insisted that his prediction is not his word but as directed by God, has refused to join issues with the governor as he turned down this reporter’s request for a reaction to what some members of his church described as the vituperation of the Ekiti governor.

On Fayose and Atiku’s presidency, Ayodele had said, “The Spirit of The Lord says Governor Fayose of Ekiti State should not waste his money and energy on any presidential campaign for 2019 because he is going nowhere. God says his presidential ambition is foul. The Spirit of The Lord says it is a non-issue. I also do not foresee Abubakar Atiku becoming Nigeria’s president in 2019. And I do not see El-Rufai becoming president in 2019.”

On Buhari, Primate Ayodele saw him winning the 2019 presidential election saying, “The Spirit of The Lord says power will be retained by the North in 2019. The next President will shock Nigerians. The second term bid of President Buhari will be dicey. If the APC fields Buhari for a second term in 2019, he will win. The Lord says no candidate will beat him. Unless he does not contest again, which I foresee is dicey.

“I foresee changes in the government of Buhari, as he will be disappointed by those he is trusting. Aso Rock needs spiritual cleansing. Nigeria needs spiritual cleansing. I see progress and prosperity for the Nation if it is spiritually cleansed.”

The Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Governors’ Forum, Rochas Okorocha, has said that the governors elected on the platform of the party, have unanimously agreed that President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term in office and have therefore asked him to declare to run in the next election.

Okorocha gave the hint while fielding questions from journalists at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, on his arrival from Abuja on Friday.

He stated that the President had justified his first term mandate and should have his mandate renewed.

He also revealed that the APC governors had unanimously endorsed the reappointment of the former Governor of Rivers State, who is currently the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, as the Director-General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation.

He said that Amaechi did well as the Director-General of the campaign outfit in 2015 and therefore should be allowed to repeat such a good work.


Okorocha said, “We were in Abuja for three days, holding meetings of the Progressive Governors with the APC leadership. We deliberated on so many issues. First among the very important issues that we discussed, was the issue of Mr. President’s second term bid and it has the endorsement of all the governors of the APC.

“There is the need for him to complete his second term as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and he should go ahead to declare (to run for reelection).”

“We also deliberated and a unanimous decision was reached that we liaise with the campaign team, to be headed by the Minister of Transportation, Amaechi, as the Director-General.

“The governors also endorsed his (Amaechi’s) reappointment as the Director-General of the campaign team due to his track record ahead of the last election.

“Four years are not enough to show what the President can offer. We believe that another four years will bring out the best in him. The first four years are a very difficult period, and we believe that as things are stabilising, he will take Nigeria to the next level.


“The governors have serious responsibilities. All the governors were asked to put up a team as the campaign council.”

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru said 4501 petrol trucks were simply untraceable, vanishing from the Nigerian radar, during the biting fuel supply crisis.

“Due to massive diversion, hoarding, panic buying and smuggling, coupled with the information that three Direct Sales Direct Purchase Consortia had rejected October cargoes, there was insinuation of a supply gap,” he said Thursday at an investigative public hearing by a Joint Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Petroleum Downstream, at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.

Baru disclosed that during the period, NNPC could not track the movement of 4,501 trucks representing the quantity of the disappeared products.

According to him, the nation lost about 148,533,000 million litres of fuel to the suspected diversion during the December fuel crisis.

The NNPC GMD listed some of the key factors which were responsible for the crisis to include insufficient reserve, clearance speed, supply gap, diversion, hoarding, panic buying and smuggling.
He noted that prior to the crises, NNPC had 1.9 billion litres strategic reserve of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), which would have lasted for 53 days but that due to panic buying, diversion and hoarding, the Corporation was unable to cope with the daily nation consumption of 37 million litres of PMS, which led to the presence of long queues at petrol stations across the country.

He however said that NNPC took some urgent steps to resolve the scarcity which included but not limited to the immediate activation of war room, additional imports to increase days sufficiency, 24-hour operations in all NNPC Depots and mega stations; sustained media and stakeholders engagements; increased monitoring, surveillance and sanctions as well as production at Kaduna and Port Harcourt refineries put at 3 million daily.

Baru also used the opportunity to call on the Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) to review the pricing template and landing cost.

He also asked the National Assembly to approve outstanding subsidy payments and debts to marketers.

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Thursday declared that the Anambra Central Senatorial District rerun election must hold as scheduled on January 13.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state , Dr . Nkwachkwu Orji, who made the declaration in a telephone interview with our correspondent, said the commission had commenced the training of ad hoc personnel towards the election.

The Anambra Central Senatorial District had been without a senator since 2015 when a Court of Appeal , Enugu Division , sacked the occupant of the position , Mrs . Uche Ekwunife .

The court asked INEC to conduct a rerun in the district within 90 days while disqualifying Ekwunife and her political party , the Peoples Democratic Party , from participating in the rerun.

The PDP challenged its exclusion in the rerun at the Federal High Court , Abuja , which granted judgment in its favour .
The candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, Chief Victor Umeh , appealed against the judgment .

On Monday , November 20 , 2017, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja delivered judgment in favour of Umeh , ordering INEC to conduct the rerun election within 90 days of the judgment, excluding the PDP from contesting in the rerun .
Following this , INEC fixed the rerun for January 13, 2018 .

But on December 13, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja declared Obiora Okonkwo of the PDP as the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District in a judgment delivered by Justice John Tsoho .

Tsoho asked INEC to issue Okonkwo a certificate of return , just as it ordered the Senate President to swear in the PDP candidate immediately.
Speaking with our correspondent on Thursday , the Anambra REC said its legal department had studied the judgments and asked it to go ahead with the election as ordered by the court of appeal as against the Tsoho Federal High Court judgment .

The REC said , “ We are going ahead with the election as scheduled. We have started training ad hoc personnel in that respect .

“ Our legal department has asked us to go ahead and obey the Court of Appeal order against the Federal High court judgment . So , we are going ahead to conduct the election on January 13. ”

The Federal Government has urged the Community Court of Justice of the Economic Community of West African States not to accept a June 10, 2016 report of global human rights organisation , Amnesty International , tendered by the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra , Nnamdi Kanu .

The ECOWAS Court ’ s three- man panel , led by Justice Hameye Mahalmadane , had, on November 21, 2017 , adjourned until February 7 , 2018 for hearing of pending applications , including one through which Kanu sought to tender the AI ’ s report and other documents in support of his main suit .

Kanu had, on March 3 , 2016 , filed his fundamental human rights enforcement suit before the regional court , demanding $ 800 m as compensation from the Nigerian government for his alleged unlawful arrest in 2015 and detention.

The IPOB leader has been declared missing by his family members and legal team after soldiers allegedly invaded his home during the military action codenamed
‘ Operation Python Dance ’ in Umuahia , Abia State , in September 2017 .

But an application by his legal team had sought to file the Amnesty International ’ s report as an additional exhibit because it was said to have been issued by the organisation after the suit was instituted.

The report sought to be tendered was not made available to our correspondent but Kanu ’ s lead counsel , Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor , stated in the application that the AI ’ s report was issued on June 10 , 2016 and titled , ‘ Killing of unnamed Pro -Biafran Supporters by Military must be urgently investigated . ’

Ejiofor stated that the report indicated that “ at least , 150 peaceful pro - Biafran activists” were killed in “ a chilling crackdown . ”

Other documents , which the plaintiff sought to be tendered alongside the AI ’ s report were , “ photographs of the slain members of the Indigenous People of Biafra by the Nigeria security personnel;

Daily Trust publication of December 2015 , wherein President Muhammadu Buhari , (Nigeria President ) declared that Nnamdi Kanu cannot be released ; and the Certified True Copy of the ruling delivered by Hon. Justice B . F. M . Nyako on February 28 , 2017. ”

But the Federal Government , through its lawyer in the Federal Ministry of Justice , Mrs . Maimuna Shiru, urged the court to dismiss Kanu ’ s application.

A Litigation Clerk in the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Thomas Etah, who deposed to the Federal Government ’ s counter - affidavit , opposing Kanu ’ s motion , stated that the AI ’ s report , sought to be tendered as exhibits, had no relevance to the suit .

He added that the picture annexure, also sought to be tendered , only showed people lying down with injuries “ with no link at all to the substantive suit before this honourable court . ”

The counter - affidavit read in part, “ That the plaintiff /applicant filed a motion on notice dated April 13, 2017 seeking leave of this honourable court to extend time within which the plaintiff /applicant may file additional documents to support his case .

“ That the substantive suit before this honourable court is for the determination of allegations of violation of fundamental human rights of Mr. Nnamdi Kanu and not the Indigenous People of Biafra .

“ That Indigenous People of Biafra are not parties in this suit .

“ That Annexure 12(a ) & (b), which contains a report by Amnesty International on issues relating to Indigenous People of Biafra are irrelevant to the substantive suit of the plaintiff /applicant .

“ That I know as a fact that the photographs annexed as annexure 13- 32 only shows people lying down with injuries with no link at all to the substantive suit before this honourable court . ”

Attacking other exhibits sought to be tendered , the counter - affidavit denied that President Muhammadu Buhari , during a presidential media chat of December 30, 2017 , said Kanu , who was then in detention , could not be released .

Contrary to the claim in the application, the counter - affidavit stated “ the President of Nigeria only stated that there is a case of treasonable felony against the plaintiff /applicant and that he hopes the court will listen to the case . ”

Oil marketers on Wednesday agreed with the Federal Government to allow the pump price of petrol to remain at N 145 per litre, reversing their previous stance on the pricing of the commodity.

On Tuesday , the Chairman , Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association , Dapo Abiodun , had stated that the marketers could no longer import petrol at a controlled price of N 145 per litre.

But it was gathered in Abuja on Wednesday that the marketers reversed their stance at the meeting of the ad hoc committee set up by the Presidency to get the oil marketers to restart the importation of refined petroleum products .

Sources at the meeting told our correspondent that a communique on the resolutions reached at the meeting would be made public soon , but noted that the marketers also appealed to the Federal Government to grant them tax holidays and other incentives that would help cut their costs when they resumed fuel importation .
It was learnt that four sub -committees were constituted at the meeting , which was chaired by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources , Ibe Kachikwu , at the ministry ’ s headquarters in Abuja .

“ Four sub - committees were inaugurated by the minister and we agreed on a price that is good for Nigerians , which of course , is the current price. All these and more will be in the communique that will be released soon , ” a source who spoke to our correspondent in confidence, said .

Another source stated that the committees included those on logistics and business conduct, adding that the agreements reached at the meeting would be relayed to the Presidency before the communique would be made public .
It was also learnt that heads of some parastatals under the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources were members of some of the committees .

Meanwhile , the Senate has denied an alleged claim by the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari , that the National Assembly is responsible for the delay in the payment of the debt owed oil marketers by the Federal Government .

The lawmakers denied any pending request to approve a loan for the payment of the debt by the Presidency .

The upper chamber of the National Assembly stated this on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Chairman , Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs , Senator Aliyu Sabi - Abdullahi.

The statement read in part, “ The attention of the Senate has been drawn to a claim said to have been made by the Chief of Staff to the President , Mallam Abba Kyari , during a meeting with stakeholders in the oil industry on the perennial fuel scarcity in the country to the effect that the payment of debts owed oil marketers was being delayed because the National Assembly has not approved request presented to the legislature for a loan meant for that purpose .

“ The Senate will want members of the public to know that no such request has been made to it specifically requesting for a loan meant for payment to oil marketers . The Senate is aware that subsidy on petrol had been cancelled by this administration, so we wonder which payment we are talking about now .

“ Senators have been inundated with calls from oil marketers who were present at the meeting with the Chief of Staff to the President on the issue and thus , we call on Mallam Kyari to either prove his claim or retract it . ”

He added , “ It should be noted that a similar claim was made by the Minister of Finance on the foreign loan at a time the Presidency had not forwarded the request . The letter requesting for the foreign loan was submitted long after she was confronted with the fact . ”

Nigerians woke up this New Year to listen to President Muhammadu Buhari’s New Year address to the nation in which he made many promises and undertakings.

One of the things he said is as follows:

“My address to fellow Nigerians this morning is devoted mainly to informing you about the intense efforts this Administration is putting to address our country’s huge infrastructural deficit.

We are going to make significant in-roads in advancing road, rail and power projects across the country.”

Muhammadu Buhari has been President for over two and a half years. He has less than one and a half years to go.

If by now he is still talking about “we are going to” shouldn’t alarm bells ring in your mind?
The man has spent more than half his term and he is not able to tell us what he has done in tangible terms. Instead, he is still telling us what he plans to do.

To paraphrase the Yoruba adage, if you have used two and a half years to prepare for madness, how long would the madness now last?

Then the President characteristically threatened oil marketers and again characteristically, blamed them for the fuel scarcity that occurred during the Yuletide.

Said the President:

“I am determined to get to the root of this collective blackmail of all Nigerians and ensure that whichever groups are behind this manipulated hardship will be prevented from doing so again.”

This is so typical of Muhammadu Buhari. Failure to take responsibility. The man is the minister of petroleum. The buck should stop at his table.
Nigerians will notice how he failed to address the revelations that he, who had spent years discrediting fuel subsidy and alleging that Jonathan and his government used that policy to scam Nigerians, had been secretly and illegally paying fuel subsidy, currently at ₦26.40 per liter.
The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Maikanti Baru, told newsmen that he was instructed by the President to subsidize the cost of petrol. There were no provisions for subsidy in the 2016 and 2017 budgets. So where has the money been coming from?

The other day, the minister of state for petroleum resources, Ibe Kachikwu, exposed that Baru had awarded $25 billion worth of contracts without due process. Did the money come from there?
And now the man who should address this unconstitutional appropriation of Nigeria’s resources is now threatening marketers. The same marketers who have revealed that the NNPC is owing them $1 billion and that under the current policy they can’t make a profit!

Are they meant to stay in business to make a loss?

And then the man goes on to lie that power generation has ramped up to 7,000 megawatts (MW) forgetting that previous administrations before him set up the Nigerian Electricity System Operator which is statutorily required to publish the verifiable amount of power generated in Nigeria.

Now, according to the Nigerian Electricity System Operator, the amount of power generated in Nigeria is 4,108MW. I deal in facts and I have an unimpeachable reputation for the facts. If any member of the Buhari administration can contradict the data from their own government agency, Nigerian Electricity System Operator, I make a public vow to apologize to President Buhari in a full page advertisement in a nationally read newspaper.

The fact is that President Muhammadu Buhari lied!

But the greatest insult from President Muhammadu Buhari’s New Year address was when he said “The government is slowly stabilizing the economy.”

Really? No other administration has destabilized Nigeria’s economy as the Buhari administration.
Under Buhari the nation’s currency shed 75% of its value and moved from ₦199 to $1 on the day he took over to ₦365 to $1 today. We had the unenviable record of being named the fourth worst performing currency in the world by Bloomberg in 2017.

Inflation, which was at single digit rate on the unfortunate day Buhari was sworn in on May 29, 2015 is now at 15.91%.

According to Debt Management Office, the total external debt of the federal and states governments on the day Buhari was sworn in stood at $9.464 billion. In two years time, the Buhari administration has increased that debt by 50% to $15.047 billion as at September of 2017. And if the 2018 budget is anything to go by, then this amount will double this year.

Taking everything he said during the broadcast, the least you could say is that the President engaged in lying on a mass scale. Lying and responsibility avoidance.

The conclusion is that Nigeria is going to see the same old same old under Buhari in 2018. If problems arise, he will look for who to blame rather than look for a solution.

The best thing this nation can do is to pray that this nightmare comes to an end in 2019 and the President can go and tend to his 150 cows that somehow never increase in number. At least they have fared better than the Nigerian economy under Buhari.

Have you heard of euphemism? Euphemism is a mild, indirect, or vague expression for words or expressions thought to be offensive, harsh, or blunt. For example,  “To pass away” is a euphemism for “to die.”

Restroom, washroom, and bathroom are euphemisms to disguise the fact that you want to 'poo' or 'piss'. In public places, these rooms do not have baths, so we say restroom or washroom.

Another euphemism for the toilets could be 'ladies' or 'gents'. Actually, at a time, rooms were dedicated for ladies to adjust their corsets in public places, hence they were called restrooms.


So, now you know the reasons toilets are called restrooms..... EUPHEMISM!
