@ Booqee dear, up till now eh, am still wondering. Truout my journey and even in Lagos, I didn't feel nauseous at all. I ate so well eh. In weeks now I haven't enjoyed food at all but tru out my stay I rily ate well. Now on my way back just as we entered Benin, nausea started again. From yesterday evening till now am back to d usual pre-travel state. Wen I see pple eating eh, I will just be saying in my mind Iet 1st trimester pass quick o!

Please which fruits are good for pregnant women? A friend told me its not all fruits that are ok so I wanted to confirm.

except that mine is also coupled with excess salivating.. I use to scoff my nose at preg women who spat anyhow.. I just understand how they felt..

I tried putting bitterkola in my mouth, without actually chewing.. and it actually worked..but for only a week..
now it doesn't even work.. as a matter of fact I'm salivating more than ever before.. and nausea is tiring, irritating and annoying!

My dear u can say that again. Dont worry, God nor dey give person cross wey e nor go fit carry. It can only get better. Doh!

Happy Sunday to all the expectant mothers in the house. Please help inform me, I don't know if my condition is normal or not. I am a first timer mother. Got my result last week but the rate at which I feel nausea is alarming, funny enough I don't vomit but the feeling to is so severe. It has given a great discomfort and I feel as if life is slowly choking out from me.


I met with a doctor who said nothing could be done about the symptoms until after the first trimester. I have googled and ask for different opinions but nothing seem to be relieving it. I have added prayer to it. It just get worse everyday, I lose apetite as each day passes. I have been on folic acid, Vit. B complex, multivitamins and felruse(Red blood tonic capsule), add ginger to my drinks and water. Nothing is helping.

Please what am I doing wrong? Senior Colleagues please help coz I can't bear this for 3months.

Firstly congrats dear. Sorry about the nausea but just be strong. I feel exactly the same way. I dont vomit either. Just try to be strong and pay attention to ur body and with time, u will find out out things that trigger it and make it worse and things that help to reduce it. I just noticed that if i brush my teeth before eating, it triggers it. I cant take ordinary water, it has to be warm, etc. Dont worry it gets better as time passes (it might not even be up to 3 months). Sending E-hugs

First of all, i wanto give thanks to Almighty God for this priviledge to be parents to this great gift.
On Thursday evening, i was having this reoccuring lower back ache so dh and i tot to time it to see if it could be contractions. Lo and behold it was coming more frequently but i insisted we stayed at home and go to the hospital on friday morning. Dh was not having all that as they got more serious so at some mins to 12am we left the house to the hospital.
The doctor on duty(not so nice man) did that VE on me (not painful tho, once the hand gets to where its going) and said i was 5cm gone, i was happy and knew we would meet our bundle of joy early that morning.
We were admitted and the contractions got more intense but i was still laughing tru it. DH was with me so i had someone to put all the pressure from contractions on.
At 7.40 am with strong and mad contractions, the Doctor checked me again and said i was 8cm gone, i was a bit relieved that soon just soon baby boy will arrive.
Fast forward to 11.30 am the MD gangan came to check on me, did the VE and said i was just 8cm gone that the other Doctor was just being generous but he will say the exact thing as it is. At this point i was terribly disappointed and frustrated. Like how can i be 8cm since 12am? With this mad contractions that seemed like i was gonna give up. I said all sorts of nasty stuff to Dh cuz my body was no longer mine, but i kept declaring positive words to my baby and begged him to yield to them.
After the MD(ohh such a godly man) did the VE, he broke my water and said they should administer Oxytocin to hasten the whol process, hmmm that was when i knew real labour.
My sisters that thing is out of this world, i had wicked and strong contractions that were so consistent, my body was no longer mine, i thought i was gone, DH was trying to console me but i told him not to touch me, i wont wish that thing on my enemy cuz it is hell.
When they hit me, i would scream the nurses would say i was pushing but i kept saying "i'm not pushing this baby is pushing me". Ohh the nurses too were angels, such young ladies with a good heart, they were with me all the way, encouraging me and praying with me. They kept saying u're doing great, just try some more. God bless them.
At some minutes past 1pm, MD came in and said i should push intensely when i had the contractions and ohh i was happy that we were almost there. I pushed with all my strength and might, and after about the 4th push and a big cut, at 1.40pm, my hunny bunny popped out with such loud cry, he was placed on my tummy and he was soo warm. I just started thanking God, praying for the Doctor, Nurses everyone around. I bursted into tears, same with DH he could contain his excitement.
All the while, our phones were off cuz we didnt want family members to suspect anything, my mum had called my mil and everyone was worried sick but thank God it ended in praise.
I still sit think about all that labour pains and wonder about how i survived mehnn it was just God. I dont know how soon i wanna take in again cuz i just cant forget all that pain yet but my mum says God has a way of making a woman forget all that and soon again i would start to think of having another child. Well, we shall see how it goes.

The answer lies within u tho. If u feel u can handle the job test and interview ish, then u shd go ahead. If u gat the fund to travel by air, do so in order to avoid the bumpy rides and inconveniences involved traveling via road. Hope d job is worth the stress tho? So dt u won't start thinking of resigning few months after all d travel wahala.

@ sassyangel1, yes it's worth it else I wouldn't have bothered especially with the way am feeling. Tanks dear.

you can (I did) but try to get water and light foods/snacks in your bag and other things that can help you manage the nausea.

Sis, You can do that comfortably... In this pregnancy, I drove from Lagos to my hubby 's villa in East at 6 weeks not knowing I was pregnant. I was in the villa and tested and it was positive...Since i was not having MS, i drove myself back after three days...I am currently 15 weeks gone and baby is hale and hearty. The former ones we judiciously monitored and hubby even employed a driver to be driving me to work never stayed... My take is that any baby that wants to stay will stay no matter what - But that does not means you go wake up dey carry lift sha ooo.

My dear, u r so right o! Na d one Wey wan stay go stay against all odds. Am ready for this journey now. U av all strengthen me. Thank u.

FexCathy- for the nauseous part, get orbit gum or throw bitter kola into ur mouth and be nibbling on it little by little. For the journey, I don't really know, sabi mamas are on the way to properly guide you.

To every person here, both mamas and papas, please let's try to be sensitive to people's plight, your kind or harsh word can make or mar a person/decision. Remember, we are one big family.

Good evening my people. May God see all of us through this journey. Please I have 2 questions to ask. 1. Am currently 6 weeks gone and need to travel to Lagos from Warri to write a job test. Can I make this journey by road? 2. Is there anything i can take or be eating to reduce nausea? I am always nauseous without actually vomitting. If vomit manage come out na only large amounts of spit but food or anything dosent settle well with me without having that contant feeling of throwing up. Thank you in advance for your answers.

Please is there any Warri based Peggy mama here using Central hospital?

Folic acid and ferrous sulfate, one tab each daily. Ferrous sulfate is for blood building I think

With my first, I started medications late because I didn't realize I was pregnant on time. So I wanna get it right this time. Wat medications are my supposed to be taking now? I hate that hospital cos my mum had me there and they made her fetch water to bath herself immediately after delivery cos there was no one there with her. She even showed me the wicked nurse that did it.

@ Chanbaby, my dear u can say that again. I was a victim too. Infact I suffer nor be small. Was already 8cm with a strong urge to push but was yet to even be placed on a bed. I thank God all turned out well.
