Canadianfly: People should really read the CIC website concerning this PR process. All the information you need is on there. It's actually scary that anyone would be winging it and taking everything on NL as fact. Always go back to CIC to verify any info you pick up on here please. Let's stop this lazy attitude. Hi Canadianfly, gotten your FBI PCC yet? |

vcole: In Alberta you do not need the frsc letter. Same for Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Thus far I've only heard of thefrsc letter for people resident in Ontario. In Alberta you only need your current or expired drivers license. The issue date is enough to enable them calculate if you have up to 2yrs driving experience. That would waive the wait time and you can then opt to go for the advanced road test. That's great! Thank you Vcole |

yimiton: Hello Teecann,
Yes, I heard too that with this letter, you won't need to wait 2 years before taking the driving test but without it, you might be made to wait.
Some people say they didn't wait, they simply presented their driver's license and were allowed to take the test. I always prefer to be over prepared than to be under prepared, so, I'm trying to get it. Here's how it works. It varies by province. For example in Ontario, everyone takes the G1 test to get a G1 license. Now without the letter showing you have 2 years or more previous driving experience, you will need to wait 1 year before taking the G2 test. However if you have more than a years experience, you go straight to G2 test without any wait time. If experience is less than a year, you wait the number of months needed to make up a full year before moving to G2 test. G2 test also has a 1 year wait time, so if you had less than a year driving experience, you will use the G2 for a full year before taking the G test. However, with experience greater than 1 but less than 2 years, you only hold G2 license for the months needed for your experience to make up two years. For those with the letter showing greater than 2 years experience, after the G1 test, they go straight to take the G test (for the G license which is the full license) without any wait time. But failure to pass that test, takes you back to G2. In Alberta, the full license is called Class 5 license. So everyone takes the knowledge test. With two years letter of experience you get an exemption from Class 5 GDL ( graduate driver's license) and take the test for a full license straight. However in the absence of the letter, you will hold the class 5 GDL for 2 full years before being able to take the advanced road test to get the full class 5 license. I am not sure if any driving experience under two years will be deducted from the 2 years of holding class 5 GDL. A number of other provinces have theirs similar to Alberta's. |

Virt: Hi all,
Please how does past visa refusal from any country affect the timeline of processing one's PR application. A survey was done on some applicants that are delayed at the NA2 stage and most of them had one visa refusal or the other and indicated same in their application. Some of them have been on the same stage for 2 to 4 weeks and counting while their counterparts and those who applied after them have long received PPR. Their applications are still at CIO, Sydney and not yet assigned to any local visa office.
Please any experience of those who successfully got PPR with a visa refusal which they indicated in their application and what was their timeline like?
I appreciate your responses. I had 3 US visa denials, went from IP1 to IP2. No NA2, 4 PCCs. VO was Ottawa |

Beblessedbaba: Oboy this US PCC na wa o.. 12 - 16 weeks ... Permit me to ask what date will be on the US PCC. I doubt if one can apply if one is currently in the US but coming back to Nigeria in few months.... In essence if the US FBI PCC is dated 20th November 2017 and you are still in the country at that time but left 25th November 2017... I understand it willl be rejected by CIC. ..Please if you ever gotten US FBI PCC if kindly shed light on the date featured on your US FBI PCC... so an informed decision can be made. My fingerprints got to FBI June 7 and I received the report September 16, over 14 weeks after. However, the date on it was September 8. The date on your report must be after the last time you were in the country. |

Saintp: Happy Sunday to you all.
I get confused about 6 months average bank balance. For example, I need to have a 6 months bank balance of 6m. Does it mean that I must have 6m in Oct 31st, Nov 30, Dec 31 like that till March 31st?
What if by virtue of my transactions I always have 6m at the end of any month but within the month I may not have up to 1m?
For example, I have 6m on Oct 31st as balance but by Nov 10, I have a balance of 100k but by Nov 30, my inflows increases and it get to 6m again. The same thing happens other months. If this happens like that my account balance every month end will show a balance of 6m but within the months, it may not be so, is it something to worry about? Do they mean that you must have that 6m sitting in your account all through 6 months? Somebody help me ooo. Here is how mine was calculated: Assume letter is requested for on 13th of October 2017. Bank starts counting the six months prior from the day before. Balance as at May 12 Balance as at June 12 Balance as at July 12 Balance as at August 12 Balance as at September 12 Balance as at October 12 All these are added together and the sum total is divided by 6. That is the Average balance for the last 6 months If the money was dumped in as a lump sum in less than 6 months it will show. You will have 3.6 million in your account and average balance will be like 800,000 grin. If the amount has been there for the last six months, the difference in closing balance and average balance won't be a lot. |
