Hello. May I kindly ask what the bond here is called? And do banks offer these?

ositadima1:

On a serious note, for people in the diaspora, wouldn't it be better to invest in these 17-18% bonds that last for years? You could simply repatriate $40,000 to $50,000, put it in one of those bonds, and use the returns to handle all those requests (wahala...) from your Nigerian family and relatives back home.

You could give out 1 million naira at random to any lucky family or friend every month, and they would love you for it without any further expenses on your part. Your initial $50,000 investment would still be there, though it might fall in value over time. But what do you care? It's just $50,000, right? And you can keep giving for years. shocked

Thanks for your prompt response.

If I may ask, can a Temporal Nigerian Licence (3 months validity) be considered invalid, even if the owner has fully satisfied all requirements needed by the authority and his/her information registered in the database of FRSC?

You need the permanent one, not temporary one.

I am new here, wish I came across this site sooner, I have an issue and I need advise on the best action to take,I putting my application for PR on the 5th of December 2017, I got my PR through the CEC on the 18th of February 2018 but before that, I went back to Nigeria and I did a court wedding Dec 26, 2017 thinking after application, status change won't matter and I can sponsor my wife (grave mistake)whenever I get my PR. Got PPR request on the 3rd and out of fear of what might happen, I did not declare my status has changed (dumb move) .

Now I am thinking of sponsoring my wife to come but I am skeptical cos of the date on the marriage certificate (Dec 26) wont tally with my status as at when I got my PR (Feb 18), so am thinking if its a good idea to go ahead and sponsor her without minding the date or see if she can get in with student visa or if there is another way to change the date at the registry in Nigeria, bottom line is I need advise on whats best for me cos its giving me sleepless nights. I should have declared when I had the chance but that's past now I just need a solution, please help a brother out...

Have you landed? If you have not, it is better to inform them now that you are married. They will take back your COPR and cancel your immigrant visa, then ask for supporting documents for your spouse and updated POF. What I am not sure of is the penalty for not declaring it when submitting passport after PPR.

Nevertheless, as long as you have not landed in Canada, there is hope. The best time to inform CIC is now.

You have to link your PR application as soon as you land before you receive PR card.

Active assist subsidy is for residents of Ontario to enjoy recreational facilities like swimming etc, Brampton gives $275 credit per person * the No's of family members per year. Program differs by city. You can get information on it from the city's website

PR card doesn't have to be linked immediately you land. I know some who did not link and got their cards. I linked mine 7 weeks after landing and got my PR card one week after; exactly 8 weeks after landing.

Landed seniors help I need your guidance! Thanks

You need to have a valid license. If it is less than one year, prepare yourself for the G1 license. Also for those not able to get the FRSC letter before travelling, you can get a letter from the Nigerian High Commission in Ottawa for $50. Stress free.

Hello e-fam, Please how possible is it to change address after sending PCC FBI? Its not up to a month that I sent through DHL. If possible, how can one go about it? My Spouse sister that I used her address just informed me that she will be relocating to another state with her family cos her husband got a new job.

I'm kinda dazed and want to seek advise here.

Thanks Fam.

It’s very possible. Just call the FBI identity and history summary customer care number and it will be changed for you.

Good evening fam.

Quick question pls.

Im currently in the stage of uploading docs. And i have 3 items on the checklists that require the EXACT SAME documents. I just needed to verify if its ok to submit all the documents as the 3 indicated or what. I was thinking it was a glitch but i guess its not.

Thanks alot in advance for your advice.
I had the same placeholders in my application. Here is what I did:
1. Sibling’s PR card(front and back) if a PR, or siblings Passport data page.
2. A recent utility bill with a Canadian address and siblings name
3. Your birth certificate, siblings birth certificate and parents marriage certificate.

That’s what I did! Hope it helps!
