Hi, it is better to start the FBI PCC processing now, as long as you know you would not be visiting the US anytime soon. It remains valid. I did mine last year June. Took almost 3 months. Unfortunately, I visited the US again and it became invalid. Now I have ITA and waiting for FBI PCC which I submitted early this June. And FBI is still processing April submissions.
It is better to start it now.

Bro, I know I'm new here but I think we all need to chill on this gift deed matter. I am a member on Canadavisa forum and I have been through over 400 pages on Reasons for Rejection, not once was the gift deed mentioned as a reason for rejection.

If the person that brought it up can provide evidence, then we can start worrying but till then let us just calm down. A lot of people got their PPR using the gift deed and people are still using it.

I will advice that we get all our gift deeds notarize. It could like 2K or 3K. And try to provide evidence of the transfer into your account.

Pls I have a question. I intend to use a get funds from my sibling who resides in Uk and use a gift deed. Does the gift deed need to be prepared by a lawyer in UK? Will I also need to sign it?

Yes oh - Using gift deed opens your documents to more scrutiny. They know that 99% of gift deeds are actual loans, but with legal documents supporting the gift, there is nothing they can do. Rather they would review your documents very well with the view of finding errors and not completeness. In cases where slight errors can be ignored, they would hold it against the applicant.

These are not my views, but from someone who just got COPR.

My view - I will advise anyone who intends to use gift deed to avoid it at last minute. If your lender can spare the money for 6 months, use another account to collect the money and buy Treasury bills for 6 months or agree with your lender to credit your account with narration - PURCHASE PAYMENT OF ASSETS/CAR/LAND. Then go and get documents to support sales. If you still want to use gift deed - ensure your documents are over complete without errors.

I hope the Visa officers are not reading this comment sha.

Please if I havent been in Nigeria for a number of years while schooling, but I am presently back in Nigeria, how do I show that I had any asset which I sold for the money?

Please let's try as much as possible to avoid gift deed when gathering our funds. This gift deed issue is well known to Indians and the VOs know how to tackle it. The reason for this is to avoid tension whenever Nigeria applications come through - so that those who come after us can also be successful without we ruining their chances.

In India, CIC agents visit organisations to confirm if an applicant actually works there because of many fake applications. Once the trend for Gift deeds increases in Nigeria, it will begin to raise suspicion. Nigerians are not known for gift deeds. There are ways to manoeuvre POF.

A similar case to this, was the change in supervisor signing on a plain sheet of paper. It wasn't the case previously in Nigeria. Supervisors could sign on branded letterhead and include his contact details. However, CIC was getting negative confirmation from these reference letters because rather than call your supervisor, they will call your HR and HR will deny ever issuing such reference. Also, if you think CIC agents can't visit, think again. CIC agents/lawyers visit Alagbon to confirm from the criminal registry if you have any criminal case. They can run the same template too, but the problem is the delay in time to process each Nigerian application.

Also, please confirm the occupation and address on your marriage certificate, for those who are married, before you submit. Your marriage certificate should not indicate a different work occupation and your reference letter and employment letter stating a different thing. This will result to delay and if you cannot convince them - rejection. Again, if this is someone's issue and he now uses a gift deed - AHA! This person would work harder to convince them otherwise.

I received ITA on the 31st of May. I had been back to school obtaining a medical degree and thus out of work for a long while. I was planning on using a gift deed. Please what others ways are there to avoid using it, as stated above?

Any additional Post ITA info and help would be appreciated too. In fact I don't mind physical help from those who have submitted e-APRs before.

If you are in Lagos, you can go to Alagbon. Otherwise you can be like me - follow the instructions on how to fingerprint, buy a good stamp pad and do it in the comfort of your home. To be on the safe side, you can fingerprint on up to 5 copies of the form. Then mail your application packet to FBI. I did that and got mine in 7 weeks.

Hello. Pls what paper type did you print the FD- 258 form on? The website says standard white paper stock. Can I get that at regular business centres?

I recently did the US PCC and I heard it takes forever 12- 14 weeks. Go to the FBI portal for instructions.
