Nwannediutor: Hello guys!
I applied for my Study permit on the 16th of June and didn't get any update on my application until I ordered for my GCMS notes 15 days ago.
I just received the notes now to discover that I FAILED the eligibility review done on the 17th of July, 2020.
Part of the reasons include for the denial includes ; no travel history and inadequate funds, weak family ties.
I acknowledge that I do not have any travel history and was single when I did the application (married now though). I will defer my admission and use the next 6 months to get travel experience and increase my POF and then reapply again. Unfortunately, my course can only be started in the fall term, so I will be defering to Fall 2021.
I am pained but not discouraged. We will do this once again.
I am grateful to everyone for the knowledge I have gotten from this forum. So sorry for the delay, The Lord is your strength. I said something about these people not updating us all on the latest on our App. I feel most of the decisions have already been made but they just don’t want to let it out yet so people wouldn’t rush to apply again and then they will be having more backlogs. |

I really wish that everyone who applied for Fall 2020 gets an update .. hopefully in AIP instead of refusal. I would suggest we all order GCMS note at least 25 days before your refund deadline,That’s for the people who haven’t gotten AIP yet. There's a chance that refusals will come in after first week of September.. Since applicants can resubmit another application for Fall2020 thinking they might be eligible for AIP/2-step process if they submit it before Sept 15th. That means VO may have to process same application twice whereas .. they could have spent time to finalize another one. ( someone actually said this and I kinda agreed to it ). Everyone who passes eligibility regardless of full application will get AIP no matter what IRCC says. VOs are not rolling out final decisions, at least not before Sept 15. All final decision will start to roll out at least from second week of September. They are not wasting time and resources to finalize application while there are travel restrictions and embassies are closed regardless of VAC.. |

OluwaFavored: Hi House,
To the experience gurus here,
my SP was denied on 21 July with a single reason "I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
I applied for a judicial review through a lawyer I was introduced to, but I didn't know judicial review take long time to conclude.
Now, I'm thinking re-applying but not sure if I can do that while the judicial review appeal is ongoing and not concluded yet.
Please, what do you think?
1. Wait for the review appeal to conclude? but this may not be against this fall 2020 according to the lawyer and my program does not have a Spring/Winter start, it also cannot be differed. I will have to reapply against Fall 2021. Its a very competitive program.
2. Withdraw the review request and reapply afresh for SP with maybe an affidavits that I will be returning home after my program since the only concern is my leaving Canada after my program. Again, get a certificate of enrollment from my school to add.
3. Lastly, do everything in #2 above but without withdrawing the review request.
Please, advise, so that I can take the steps before it is late. What are the documents you submitted? |

Luckymama: AIP update. Received AIP yesterday. From the letter I received I would feel that AIP is truly almost 70 to 80% guarantee of a positive result.
Nevertheless I still plan to defer my admission if I don’t get a complete approval before Sept 15. For me, my school will not give me a refund if I start the program and eventually do not get the study permit.
TIMELINE: 2nd application. Date: June 27. Biometrics already done. Upfront medical updated to pass on the 7th of July. AIP received on 18th of August. Congrats Luckymama. |

Lekiboboe: Yes it doesn't, this content was a general mail from the international dept.
Sure Okay you should let them know about the AIP you received, they can contact IRCC on your behalf and then let you know what to do. I recently got an mail from the school addressed to IRCC on my behalf. |

Lekiboboe: Would love the house to clarify this
It seems as per travel restrictions, only those who got Approval before March 18th and their program has on-campus learning are allowed to come to Canada presently together with their Travel support letter from the school
I got a mail from my Int'l director as regards resumption for Fall 2020 students that have Paid their tuition,
So one of his paragraph captured my attention
He said:
If you have applied for the Visa and have not received any decision as yet, you need to wait till September 15 for AIP (Stage One Visa Approval) to be issued. If you receive an AIP by September 15, you need to then register immediately and start your program online as we are expecting IRCC to ask you for a proof of registration for September 2020 program before they issue Stage Two Final Visa Approval. If you DO NOT receive any decision by September 15, you need to defer your intake to January 2021.
Though my program is a strictly On-Campus program and has only a FALL Intake.
Does that mean that a proof of registration is a Criteria to get the Stage 2 final VISA approval?
Am also thinking, whether IRCC have told told all schools about the AIP and steps to take as regards that (reason is cos AIP is not assurance of getting approved)
&
He said We are expecting IRCC to ask you for a proof of registration for September 2020 program before they issue State Two Final Visa Approval Cos this seem like an assumption to me (We are EXPECTING)
What's your take on this?
THANKS!!! I thought you said your course doesn’t have Jan 2021 intake? I thought your course is hybrid and cannot be done online? Why don’t you let them know about the AIP you received and see how they response to that. |

Slayyy001: Based on their policy to stop TRV application intake by September 30, does that mean I can apply online after September 30 for student visa or it means I can’t ? Not sure I have heard of any policies, you can apply anytime I guess. I might be wrong tho. Or do you mean paper applications? |

Just make sure you make plans for them as much as you’re making plans for yourself. BTW : they can serve as good home ties for you here and you get them there as soon as you get your TRV. |

Osemigho: Reject or change it! You will not get PGWP with a course that can be completed online. You don’t need and can’t get a study permit for a course that can be completed online! I hope you didn’t ask for it. So, Reject it or Change your course immediately. Be nice about the rejection though. Nope I didn’t ask for it and it wouldn’t be completed online. It’s stated in the letter that It is anticipated that in-person classes for this program may resume as early as January 2021 and I will be expected to attend classes on campus to meet curriculum learning requirements. |
