Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Monthly Net Salary Of Federal Government Ministries, departaments, Agencies And P by Fiestafetta: 4:06pm On Mar 17, 2023 |
Please I want to ask the house if it is possible for a teacher in a state government school (primary) to transfer/move to ministry (State/federal). My sister got a teaching job, despite advertising position for Bsc and Msc/Med only for her to be employed with Med i.e. her name came out with Med against her name but placed on grade level 8 Step2, coupled with meagre pay, now she is depressed and confused. She can't even be able to save money for her PhD program again which she is planning to embark next year. Anyone that have gone through or know someone through similar experience before or have ideas in what she can do to remedy this situation?. Thanks for your anticipated assistance. |

pansophist: If you will study, then four million is not enough unfortunately. 4M naira is about 6k euros, it won't pay for your school fees even. You need at least 8-10k euros for that.
I mean, its a huge money, but naira have fallen so badly that when converted to euros, it becomes so small. If you can increase it, then try. It worth working hard for.
Or you go for bachelor degree programs. They are usually cheaper. Lapland university of applied sciences have the cheapest degree program. At about 4k a year, even better if they give you a scholarship.
I can't recommend any course for you. But go to studyinfo. fi, and search for courses that you like, also use the filter botton to search better. But I'll give you a possibility of relocating without spending much.
Lab university of applied sciences just started a four year engineering bachelor program called sustainable solutions engineering. So you study the first 60 credits (out of 240 credits) online, if you perform well, then from the second year, you can study in Finland for free.
The university will assist you to come to Finland, and tuition fee will be free. The country needs people in that field, so they exempt that program from tuition payment.
You won't find the link to the program on their website (I don't know why), but drop your email and I'll send it to you, so you can apply. I got it through their newsletter, since I applied there long time ago when I was like you, trying to japa.
Goodluck mate. May God bless your hustle. Please I'm also interested. fiestafetta@gmail.com |

Jobs/Vacancies › How To Transfer From State Government Teaching To Ministry by Fiestafetta(op): 1:46pm On Feb 11, 2023 |
Good day my fellow nairalanders, please I want to know if it is possible for someone teaching in state government school (primary school) to transfer his/her service to state/federal government ministry.
My sister secured a teaching job in one of the Eastern state of the country, she has bachelor degree and master's degree but unfortunately for her, after all the rigorous process of the recruitment exercise she was placed on Grade level 8 Step2 of the state universal basic education board, not even in secondary School. Presently, she wants to know if it is possible for her to transfer to the ministry most especially ministry of health since she has her master's degree in health related course and possibly placed on appropriate grade level.
Has any one gone through similar issues before or anyone have any vital information that may be of help? Thanks so much for your anticipate responses. |

If you want your relatives back home to believe you, relocate back to Nigeria, with that you don't need to much stress convincing them... Forget CNN, just leave UK and let them replace you there |

emmas2k570: Please house, i have an issue. I need your advise
I just got my COS now and trying to apply for VISA, in the guideline i was sent i saw this statement, "Planned travel information: You need to enter your planned arrival date to the UK (This needs to be roughly a week before the start date on the COS unless otherwise stated on your previous email)"
Now my Start date on my COS is 24th of Jan, long before the COS came I plan on doing my registry before leaving on Jan 20th which the date has been fixed already which means if i want to go by this statement, my arrival date should be 1 week before 24th of Jan that is my start date.
Now my question is Can i just pick a tentative date which will be 1 week before the start date or Should i pick a date like 21st of Jan as my arrival date which is 3 days before the start date
Please i will appreciate our responses as this is getting my confused. Thank you Please what type of job do you get? Is it nursing? |

Business › Re: Exploitative Outrageous Duty Charges By Nigerian Customs by Fiestafetta: 11:08pm On Dec 01, 2021 |
Dandy1: I couldn't find a suitable sub-forum for this topic, so I used the general. Kindly patiently read through, if there's anyone that can help - please kindly reach out.
I'm going to be apt and sincere here. So I ordered a musical studio equipment on the Aliexpress 11:11 sales day. The total sum I paid for the item at checkout was $280(114k naira). Free shipping was part of the deal, so it was mouth watering. Normally, I would have used the service of Nairaland trusted shipping agents like Justi4jesu, but she doesn't do Aliexpress the last time I checked.
Fast forward to today, I was called to come pick up my parcel at the local post office. The item was stated on the listing to be shipped through 'Aliexpress standard shipping', I don't know how it ended up in the care of EMS. I reached there, and some sort of invoice was brought out. The attending agent looked at the papers for a moment and told me I would be paying about 39,600 for the clearance. What!!!
I couldn't believe my ears, so I told her to please pass me the document for observation. I saw the estimated value of the item was put at #202,000 naira. How come? It stated on the paper that the custom duty was 10%,which is #20,000. Plus all other trumped up charges, it summed up to #39,600. Plus 1k5 for shipping from Lagos, over 40k. That's about $100, using the current official exchange rate.
I bought a $280 dollar item and I'm being charged $100 for collection? That's like 43% of the value. Even if I am stinkingly rich, which I am not; it's insane to pay such amount. It's like buying a 1milli worth car and paying 430k to clear it. I am an obedient citizen and all, but inflating the price of the item I bought just to cash out big through tariff screams corruption to me. I am very sure just a fraction of the amount will be remitted to government coffers.
Please if there's anybody who has an idea how to go about beating down this obviously outrageous charges, kindly help out. I can print out the issued invoice on the bought item as proof of price if there's a need. Thanks.
Lalasticlala and other mods, I will be glad if this can make front page for more awareness of this unjust situation. Thanks Please sir, how were you able to make a purchase to the seller/company from Nigeria at the official dollar rates? I want to make a payment but find it difficult to do so at official dollar rates. Do I need to use my naira account or what? |

I'm working on leaving too, but since she's a health care worker It could be easier. And she's very much interested.
