agaugust: our radar is 360 degrees all round view and the radius is the range, 407 km circle radii....you dummy.
one ATR-42 at 407 km ahead of the second, gives them total 814 km radar coverage, yes radars range is added up in numbers in air warfare based on linear flight formation.
you fake air force officer Bwahahahaha… that would be really stupidd flying one plane ahead of another. Why not apart from each other to cover wide area? However, I am still asking what range are the radii of your radar? That's one thing that really shows how stupidd a kind of military researcher you are. Secondly, ATR-42 surface search radar is 330 km, which is mounted on its belly. Do you know how difficult it is to track surface object especially snorkeling subs using search radar. As I told you before, subs can detect any radar before they can actually be detected while snorkelling especially when aircraft radar is used. The aircraft will then have to rely mostly on its visual sensors. In fact, in modern days aircrafts rely mostly on its visual sensors to detect snorkelling subs due to many things that obstruct the radar on sea surface in the case of detecting a snorkeling subs. It is really not an easy task at all. I tested you on the basis of your knowledge and ultimately found out that you are nothing other than just a fake military researcher. http://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ac/asw.htm |

iblawi: ATR's radar is 400+km and we have 2 of them. That means our radar covers about 900km at 1s.
Are you feeling the power of Nigeria? You can never add radar range like numbers dummy. I asked about the radii of your radar. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 9:06pm On Sep 20, 2015 |
agaugust: It's even more visible from aircraft...the whole submarine shape is visually clear, and the snorkel is pouring out heavy diesel engine heat attracting airborne FLIR while the sub snorkel and sub radars are reflecting clearly on airborne radar screen from many kilometers away. I beg to differ chief. How big will the radius of the radar be? |

agaugust: Big lie from fake air force officer !
Radar will detect a submarine snorkel, and worse for the submarine if it also raises it's own radar and periscope at the same time.
https://www.quora.com/Can-radar-detect-a-submarines-snorkel-or-Periscope
Also, Nigerian navy has total coverage of Nigerian coastline with 50 km range TV Cameras, we also have the new Israeli Falcon Eye 24 hour high power ocean surveillance sophisticated systems covering the entire Nigerian EEZ up to deep inside Gulf Of Guinea.
No submarine can hide in Nigerian waters unless a super power class Nuclear power engine submarine, which South Africa will never have. . That would be from another ship. |

iblawi: Any modern radar can detect your snorkeling sub. It can only go 400 nautical miles submerged, so that means lesser job to be done. You are in no way a treat to the Giant of Africa. A modern radar that can detect snorkel. A snockel is nowhere on the air madman and must only be seen by cameras else you won't see it at all. You will just only have to rely on luck |

EVarn: Good. As for being the political powerhouse,I disagree; Nigeria is the 4th biggest democracy and the biggest democratic black nation of the planet, well ahead of Brazil and the US.This makes us Africa's political powerhouse. With the recent smooth transition of power,Nigeria's democracy has grown to match that of South Africa in terms of advancement, though we operate different political systems. Yes, the 4th biggest democratic government that jails you just for being gay. Is that democracy? |

EVarn: lol,you brought stale news my friend, stale news.2005 article,so much has changed in Nigeria since 2005; population has grown, economy has tripled, infrastructure has boomed, new cities have been built, standard of living has improved,middle-class has quadrupled, education has improved etc.... Many things have changed in Africa; Gadaffi has fallen,Libya is a failed state,Egypt is a semi-failed state,Senegal is now even more entrenched in corruption, democratic instability and economic mismanagement,Kenya is practically ruled by a dynasty,Tensions has increased in East Africa between Ethiopia,Kenya,Somalia and Eritiea. Your source is stale my friend, bring me a new one. I actually want to take you back to where it all started and I will bring you to the current. |

EVarn: Yes,and the same can be said for Nigeria.President Lungu said "..South Africa is a big country.." not "..South Africa is the biggest country..",Nigeria,Egypt,Algeria and Ethiopia are also big and powerful countries. Even the US President Obama admitted that Nigeria is the most strategically important country in Africa,China's prime minister also agreed that Nigeria is Africa's powerhouse. Biggest only come when there is comparison, so there was none in President Lungus words to compare. Obama and Chinese President still said the same of South Africa. However, I agree that Nigeria is the economic powerhouse of Africa and not political powerhouse. |

EVarn: What does that have to do with continental alliance?,Dangote is currently colonizing the zambian economy and thoroughly thrashing France's lafarge holcim out of the market. Zambia has chosen to ally itself with the true continental powerhouse, even though it is a SADC country. Zambian SFs are trained in Russia. How can anyone ever colonise economy by just manufacturing cement. Economy of any country is so diversified that it cannot in anyway be colonised by simple cement investment. |

China manufacturer has confirmed my claim of speed and effective range.
Lies are told more in South Africa more than anywhere else on earth, you deceived the whole of Nairaland with fake Super Lynx ASW helciopter for 5 years, you are the real liars not China . Nope they said the range is 20km not 22km or 35 km as you claimed. |

One thing about Chinese is that their Mach is not the same as Mach that we know. Their Nike that they manufacture themselves apart from those designed under licence from Europe is something else. Their adidas is called abibas. That's how those guys are like, not so honest in making business. |

patches689: Did I specify how it would be detected?
No?
Ok.
So, since you cannot validate your statements, I am going to take it that you were talking sh1t about the ATR-42 detecting a snorkel, just like you were talking sh1t about the service ceiling of your drone. As usual, you were making things up in an attempt to tell us how your navy would stand a snowballs chance in hell against the SAN
My work here is done
Goodnight
I leave you with this picture of our 2 submarines operational during exercise young eagle - just to add a touch of salt to those wounds Agaugist knows very well that his brown water navy will no way stand a chance against SAN. That's a fact, it just won't stop SAN. |

agaugust: 1. Your own photo shows submarine radar is on the conning tower. # Suicide Comment
2. Show me a citation that your Super Lynx radar can detect objects on the sea
3. For what? Combat simulation?
If your submarine dares to use radar, it moves closer to the surface and becomes more vulnerable, it also begins to emit radar waves and it reveals it's exact position to enemy aircraft radar from 407 km away, the ATR-42 in PASSIVE MODE ESM will analyse your radar emissions and even jam it, our passive mode won't let your submarine know the ATR-42 is wrecking your radar operation ! Suicide move !
When my MPA/ISR aircraft finds your submarine snorkel, I will call in my missile drones or jets and helicopters to destroy your submarine, your sub is desperate for oxygen, that is why it is snorkelling for survival, that will be written in the autopsy report of it's untimely death . Can you even understand that garbage you wrote. Subs will always be given fire support mainly by frigate when it will have to breath. |

agaugust: OPV will not wait for a submarine, it will move to harbour in there is threat. Unless you fight war without declaring war first, there are international laws of war, you don't just attack a sovereign state or UN will turn against you.
SAN has manpower to fully operate ONLY one submarine at a time. I Your sub can only survive 4 days under water, it will part surface to snorkel and NAF will sink it. Our navy has over 15000 manpower and can even operate 20 submarine at the same time. |

agaugust: Umhkonto missile speed is slow at 2,500 km/h.
PL-9C missile speed is about double that of Umkhonto, PL-9C speed is about 4,300 km/h confirmed from China.
PL-9 IR-guided missile was first developed in the late 80s based on PL-8/Python-3 technology and is for export only. It has an all-aspect InSb seeker and a radio fuse. Its range is 500m minimum and 16km maximum. Speed is Mach 3.5 and load is 40g. Its forward control fins look similar to those of AIM-9L (double delta). The latest variant of PL-9 is called PL-9C with improved multi-band IR seeker and a new programmable digital processor giving it a greater IRCCM capability and higher killing probability. Its range is also increased to 20km. Here two PL-9C AAMs are seen being carried by a F-7PG fighter to be delivered to PAF. However PAF eventually decided to procure AIM-9Ls for its F-7PG fleet instead. PL-9C is expected to be the standard air-to-air weapon for the new F-7NI/BG/NM series exported to Nigeria, Bangladesh and Namibia.

Umkhonto is a freaking weak missile. I think we equally have to agree with your reliable source that its range on maximum is a mere 16 km. You trusting BLOGS too much over reliable sources |
