agaugust: My source is not a blog, it's military factory website and world respected as a military data source. Even Jane's defence does not publish the drone max ceiling.
Your Wikipedia is an unreliable source, anybody can edit it.
Now you landed two sources that disagree with each other, one says 4km another says 6km, so which one is right? Mumu
Sorry your source is garbage....loser . Generally you hardly find drones that can fly over 8000m in altitude. Such drones are very scares bra. |

Msauza: I truly agree that SANDF must at least get a budget worth over $12 billion to curtail its challenges. Yes, Msauza my man, that's what the defense review recommended and it seems as if it attracted majority support at the National Assembly in particularly from DA, but the problem will be on how the money will be spend. You must take note of the fact that our defense department was once hit by a serious corruption scandal and this time around there should be special anti corruption unit that will be established to defeat all elements of corruption from within. |

iblawi: Nigerians will never leave Nigeria to South Africa to become cleaners. Cos they can make far more at home.
Every Nigerian leave Nigeria for a purpose best known to them.
Do you know how much it cost to get Visa, flight ticket, and BTA. It is more than enough to start a good business. That's what you think, some are even washing corpses at morgues and some are cutting hair cut on the streets. |

iblawi: Big Lie
$10 per day to $2 million.
And they still flex your babes with the $10 your local Zulu can't provide.
They flex your clubs with $10.
They survive your cities with $10 that your Zulu can't provide. And even run your street with $10.
Keep lying. It sound too amazing to be true but it is the truth. Foreigners cannot be hired on permanent bases and company pay them out of their petty cash for doing job that could have paid much more than that. Remember, cleaning of factories' thrash is a daunting task and some include hazadous chemicals that are threat to health. Now companies hire trucks and pick up some few foreigners, sometimes they know where to get them and utilise their services for $10 per day, everyday, every month and every year. |

lezz: @ bold. Please black south Africans are dirt - poor. One of the poorest in all of Africa. And yes the do run spaza shops but like with their women foreigners dominated them out. Here is a research by your own bureau of market statistics that conducted a research on why local south African spaza shops just don't fly. Your barefaced lies is beginning to burden me with a heavy sense of shame since you don't know what the word means.
The township spaza shop competition is tough, and the subject of foreign-owned spazas is a thorny one for many local spaza shop owners.
A Cape Town based non-profit organisation, the Sustainable Livelihoods Foundation (SLF), conducted a two-year in-depth study to understand the current characteristics of ownership, the scope of employment within the business and trading practices of spaza shops in the Western Cape and Gauteng townships.
Spaza shops are micro-convenience stores which operate in township residential areas, selling groceries, bread, cool drinks, prepaid airtime, sweets and cigarettes.
The findings
The study surveyed over 6000 micro-enterprises in nine localities, covering an estimated 50,000 households.
One of the most striking findings documented in the SLF's report, The Informal Economy of Township Spaza Shops, is that South African owned spaza shops are less competitive than foreign-run spazas.
The reasons given by the study - why foreign shopkeepers enjoy success than South Africans - are attributed to the strength of their social networks, which provide them with access to labour and capital, and thus enable them collective purchasing and market domination Locals are not interested in tuck shops anymore since many townships in SA have their own shopping malls with Shoprite, Spar, Checkers, OK grocer, Super seven, etc. |

shizzy7: . We also have those cleaning companies here and companies who can afford them go for them, nobody complains,, you cant tell those companies not to cut cost when they have an alternative to some expenses incurred, its something most companies strive on Less expenses, more revenue..
so INDIRECTLY your citizens also do those odd jobs just that that theirs is behind cleaning company services.. It just amuses me how you people are always saying we do Odd jobs like there is NOT EVEN ONE Nigerian who is a professional.. You should complain more to your government to make necessary/alternative provisions for them ,you complain that they're thieves and you're also angry that they do Menial Jobs.Tell your govt. to quit hiding behind diplomatic-relations-pretence and Deport them, your citizens already gave them the green light by being xenophobic, at Most other countries will talk & cry foul but you get your satisfaction of not wanting foreigners who take your odd jobs, are thieves, rapists, fake pastors and all You seem not to know the situation in SA. We all know how much those huge corporation make by selling their products locally and abroad, and some sell their products with fixed prices but they do not want to create jobs for small companies for the economy to grow. Do you know how much bonuses their bosses get paid. They always sneak around and look out for foreigners whom they pay $10 a day for a project that could have caused them $2 million and pocket all the money to their own pockets. What do you call that? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by FighterPilot(m): 4:31am On Sep 10, 2015*. Modified: 5:11am On Sep 10, 2015 |
shizzy7: hahahah BUT on the other hand some Your citizens said Nigerians/foreigners are taking their Jobs,,, seems your citizens are interested in Those "odd jobs". You are confusing the whole things. It is not about odd jobs being taken away, it has to do more with how foreigners are being misused. For instance in the past before the influx of foreigners most companies would outsource, areas such as cleaning and refuse removal from their firms in the form of tenders and pay huge sum of money for that, but today they just only pick up some few foreigners on the street to do all that for them for a bargain, saving company a lot of money for a project that they have always tendered for by following necessary legal directives. Now factories go the short cut by avoiding advertising and procurement costs. That's why the economy is not doing well because everyone is not getting what he used to get. It affects newspapers from the profit they used to make in advertising of these tenders causing them to retrench staff. It affects the survivability of these cleaning services companies. There are many companies which were established specially for that purpose of cleaning and removing or disposing refuse from these factories. Most of these companies are registered as BEE compliant to empower the previously disadvantaged community. |

agaugust: South African navy has about 25 active vessels of all sizes, at 50% operational capacity, you have ONLY 12 vessels sailing. Nigeria has 75 vessels and at 50% capacity we have about 35 sailing, that is still more than 3 times the entire South African navy. Yes Nigeria has about 75 major vessels of sizes 24 metre to 140 metre, that is from Shaldag interceptor to NNS Thunder sizes. All the 300 gunboats of 10 metre to 20 metre sizes purchased in 2008 by President Yar Adua for Niger Delta war are not counted in the number, e.g. the dozens of Stealth combat catamarans are not counted because they are just about 12 metre patrol boats. "Between 2001 and 2008, the Nigerian Armed Forces entered into contractual agreements and/or taken delivery of the following: FOUR Balsam-class 61m logistics ships TWO stealth offshore patrol craft British-made supply vessels Many dozens of Chinese, US and Singapore-built fast response boats, troop landing craft and gunboats in the 10-25m configs." http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/nigeria/navy-modernization.htm Yes Nigerian navy fleet is by numbers, as large as those of Russia and America, and we have a superior IPV force better than any super power in the world today. Even now 2015 Nigerian navy just bought another 30 new gunboats brand new http://www.african-defense.com/?p=1903 50% of Nigerian navy fleet is almost 200 vessels of ALL SIZES. South Africa will never achieve that in this century Provide the source and I will gladly give you the source that guarantees over 50% of your 75 vessels down to ashes. http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=40477:fifty-per-cent-of-nigerian-navy-vessels-broken-down-says-naval-chief-of-staff&catid=51:Sea&Itemid=106Nigerian Navy has only small boats with zero missiles. Such number even when they were 200, could be cleared in ten minutes by only two South African frigates.NIGERIAN NAVY HAS NO MORE THAN 75 VESSELS. |

agaugust: We have about 400 vessels of all sizes in Nigerian navy, 50% down means about 200 vessels available to sail, no African country has that much.
Yes there is downtime for ships all over the world, South African SAS Drakensberg had been down dead in dry dock for almost 2 years and you guys have been posting photos of it in action to deceive us on this forum, you biggest warship was dead since 2013 and you were claiming here that it is patrolling Mozambique channel and Angola area, and that it will refuel your Valour frigates at sea in Gulf of Guinea, yet the SAS Drakensberg was dead in dry dock inoperable, and nice photos of it were being posted here every week saying "Great South African Navy".....while you complained that NNS Aradu was inactive, yet your biggest ship was dead until now they just refitted the Drakensberg and it has not even been cleared to return to sea after the refit.
See how you tell lies here and claim false capabilities? I am sure over 70% of South African navy vessels are still dead and inoperable, that includes your German navy donated second hand rust bucket minesweeper ships.
SAN is 70% dead, and only one single Super Lynx anti-submarine helicopter can fight war at sea, the rest have no sea going pilot . Only America, Russia and China can have vessels to that number and not poor Sub-saharan countries. Nigeria used to have only about 24 vessels until recently when they bought up to 30 small gun boats. You clearly only have no more than 75 vessels in your inventory majority which are not in operation. Fact…facts…facts |

ViceAdmiral: Below is Helmoed Heitman's thoughts on the whole Beleaguered SAAF apparently reaching out to SAA for assistance thing....interestingly he mentions that perhaps its time to get an army air corp, fleet air arm and a dedicated Special Operations structure. Wondering how my South African neighbors from down south on this thread think about that...I mean it would make sense in theory based on his reasoning.... Where does he imply that SAAF is reaching out to SAA for help or are you just making it up on your head? |

Nigeria has 36 state and the Nigerian airforce with above 12 bases. Do u of expect to find all their fighter jets and pilots in one place. I guess you guys put all your Gripens and hawk in 1 place? Who will NAF ever defeat with their only three functional F7s, I mean not even Djibouti would allow it. They would rather outshine Boko Haram and not a fully fleshed military.
Tell me, do they think they will defeat SAAF with such few outdated equipments? Three F7s which has always been seen ever since.
