Yes, competition is very high in Play store compare to BB world and app discovery is Google Play is worst than BB world mainly because of the huge amount of apps in Play Store.

Just like @lordZOUGA said, right now in Google Play you app has to be extra-ordinary before it can rank and get downloads very well.

One thing I don't like in Play Store (Personally) is that big companies use huge advertisement money to make sure that their apps are retained in top ranking position. Some buy up to 10,000 installs every day. This is a disadvantage to indie developers

This is the wisest comment I've seen here seriously because you helped me make my points clearer. The kinda money you need to spend on advertisement on Playstore or the attention alone is somehow. And the thing is that, the more you app gets downloaded, the more it gets seen.

Nollyj, you have really studied Playstore well.

My single paid app is a download manager for BlackBerry OS(OS 5+ that's the real dead BlackBerrys). But yet, I have over 20k downloads with 300+ reviews for all time and the app is $1.99 dollars. This is the app http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/32356893/

Note: This particular application is only for BBOS(OS 5+) which is dead and gone but I still get that much purchase. I can only imagine if it was also available on BB10

Sorry but your points doesn't give any real reason for developing for Blackberry.

I will use my experience on Play Store as an example. I once created simple utility app and put it up on Play Store.

After about 2 weeks of putting that app up on Play Store, It started getting an average of 600 downloads daily. Sometimes it peaks up to 800 downloads but after that week, the lowest download count it ever got was 385 downloads per day.

No ad campaign was ran for this app, the only place I shared it was on this Nairaland with my other moniker. The application was on Play Store for about 6 months before I unpublished it and it got 83,000 downloads within that time. This is definitely in direct contrast with your story about having an app that has 1000+ downloads after 2 years on Play Store.

I am pretty sure there are other developers that have seen better stats than the one I got on that app on this Nairaland.

If you are saying that you prefer appworld over Play Store because Play Store is too competitive then you are telling me that the appworld is filled with developers that doesn't like being challenged. Only mediocre developers don't like challenges.

Please, if your app is bad, fix it. Do not make excuses.

I replied to this so that some unsuspecting developer will not be mislead by your incorrect assumptions in that post.

Do you have an app on BlackBerry World ? If No, then I can't argue with you. That your app that was great enough to get that much downloads in Playstore would probably be 2 - 3 times better in BlackBerry World. Trust me, I have other multiplatform developer friends.

About challenges, well I have no idea of what you are talking about. What I know is I want my app to be easily seen. If that's what you want, BlackBerry World is the best

This quote is somewhat untrue Seun; my brother did something similiar to things, he made heat out of the battery, and also, he somehow made the heat charge the same battery. That statement about the heat powering up the source of the heat is hard to believe. With that principle, a rechargeable battery can be connected to itself and charge itself. This is where the principle of "energy cannot be created or destroyed but can be transformed from one form to the other" comes in.

Basically if the heat can charge the battery producing it, then it cannot be used to power any other thing apart from the battery since the heat energy from the coil would be exactly the same level required to charge the same battery.

To me your own is FAAAR BETTER. I wrote SSCE up to 7 times. Imagine how I lost hope because I could not even practice my desires (Programming). Mine was very bad because without SSCE you cannot do anything, you can't do Direct entry. Even all foreign universities required SSCE.

But if you have SSCE, there are different programs you can do that would get you to a university without writing JAMB self. Even that popular togo university does not require JAMB so don't feel too bad at all. Cheer up

It depends on what you want to learn. Basically you really can's give a particular time because new web technologies come up everyday. What I prefer is to learn the basics to a stage that you would understand other things on your own

This is exactly the kind of post I was looking for, because I need to develop a large Android App but I'm not an Android developer and I really dislike that OS. The personal app I built for android used JQuery mobile and was really poor so I just assumed HTML5 apps on mobile renders slowly.

So please guys suggest to me, what framework do you suggest that can solve that tap delay very well and easily implement Google's material design rules.

See what I would do.

I will return all images under that friend zone inside a div class named something like .pimg.

so the html will look like:

then my css will look something like:

width:140px;

}

This will make sure the images are all the same height though that of the girl for example will be 'cut' off after 120px. You wont get all the details in most pictures but at least your pictures will be aligned properly.

oh, then just layouts.... like a jamb registration page using just html and css

Mehn, it might not be the house there that's expensive but the land. A survey expert told me Lekki was all water before and it took years for them to fill it up and create land out of it. That's the reason Lands there are so expensive

The blog was saturated with several ads and banners that made reading it's blog post next to imposible. C'mon, did I actually visit the blog to click on a Google Ad?

I want to read valuable content: posts that offers help, impacts knowledge and end my worries.

I know... I know, as a blogger, you would love to make money from Adsense and other monetization strategies to sustain your website. But, most bloggers get this all wrong.

Most readers actually visit your blog to read your content and not to click on a Google advertisement and they can easily identify an ad when they see one (especially "smart" ones). So, if you've been welcoming your readers with several banners and ads - you have to align this ad into your content which will attract clicks and not create a poor user experience for your readers.

Desperation really kills your blog, if you ask me.

Here are just few tips that will help your readers stick to your blog and turn to your raving fan:

1. Create mind-blowing content that wows your readers. if your content suck or you adopt the copy-paste style, most readers would have no reasons to stay long on your blog, since you didn't give any reason to.

2. Use a reliable web host that decreases your page load time. You can imagine your website for as long as 10 seconds, most readers can wait that long. So, figure that out ASAP!

3. Avoid the use of aggressive pop-ups (especially those that are not tested for mobiles)that creates headache for readers who love to read your posts.

4. Format your text creatively, leaving lots of white spaces. It makes easy for readers and scanners. (This you notice a lot of white spaces on this thread? )

1. The website is online - so check your dns maybe it was down at that time

2. There is a directive not to crawl it - did you recently make any changes to your robots.txt file?
