Without mincing words, I want to learn programming but I dont even have a clue on where to begin. Unlike the three wise men the stars led to the manger, my efforts on learning programming online by myself is proving to lead to a dead end, maybe to Herod's domot. But nah, like John Cena, Herod no dey see me.

Even when i go hunting online, things usually get complicated cos stuffs there look too professional for a starter. I am an amateur when it comes to programming Or do i say novice, cos maybe amateur sounds 'professional'? And i even heard it has languages #drops_dead

Helping in your own little way could go a long way. You could give me links to tap into online where stuffs had been or is being explained in bits. I hope this grabs a wider audience.

Please webmasters, I'm having a strange issue with a phonegap app. I have an advert I want to fix permanently to the bottom of the page but it doesn't work on any of the devices I tried it with. It only works on a computer browser

Hope one of the following would help

Try disabling your wireless adapter, then re enabling it

Try updating your WiFi driver. It is very possible that an old driver won't detect more recent/updated wireless hotspot devices

Try creating a new user account. This usually solves a lot of problems for me

Downgrade your OS. Windows 10 is just not for everyone. I've heard of several cases were it disabled their Network Adapters

Create a second table called "rules" with the following structure

table: rules
fields: id, symptoms, sickness

the "id" field is an auto increment field. The "symptoms" field is a varchar field that will hold a json string of all the symptoms making up one sickness, the "sickness" field will hold the name of the sickness.

So, an example of one of the data records in this new table will be:
id: 1
symptoms: ["1", "2", "5"]
sickness: malaria

You can have as many rulesets as you want like the one above with different set of symptoms and disease.

Now the processing.
On the first page, display all the symptoms as you have said with checkboxes. For reference purpose let us name your checkboxes "symptoms[]"

On the form processor, the page that handles the user request and tells the user what sickness they have... it should have this kind of flow:

//get the list of "checked" symptoms from the symptoms[] array that has come in through the form's POST data.
//now you have an array of all the checked symptoms, let's call it $user_symptoms
//do a database query of your rules table "select * from rules"

I hope you get the logic, others may have a better logic but do not take the option of deciding the sickness with decision constructs as opposed to creating a "rules" table. If you use decision constructs, for each sickness you want to profile you will need to write a new set if if/elseif/else block. But with my suggested method above, you just write this code once and add new sicknesses to your database without needing to write any new code.

It will lag at some point, especially on mobile, When it comes to gaming, infact it's not recommended to do Gaming in java on Android talkless of HTML5, C++ is the best option, i mean you have access to raw power and some API look clean. e.g Cocoa2dx sadly i don't know how to draw.

Seriously, that's why I mentioned simple games like Flappy birds. The game I'm talking about is brick breaker but with cool smooth animations.... maybe I'll record my screen, upload it and post the link here.

There are powerful game libraries that would do the job well for mobile especially simple games like flappy birds, pacman etc. If you use BlackBerry, there's one game they created with HTML5. Till now I still think BlackBerry lied about it but then check the src files

Don't sound so ignorant about the recharge card payment method. People actually use recharge card more and there's no sign of any crashing of business. My app has the 2 methods, but people prefer the recharge card option.

Using Shortcode is too expensive to me. Also, check Okadabooks and Spinlet apps. They also use this method. So I think you should do more research on what we are talking about

That's very correct. I was wondering why the first comment on this thread sounded like I was trying to mislead developers. I'm only saying from my point of view. However the 3rd reason in the article is the one I want to use to encourage developers.

Another reason I didn't mention in the article is the fact that it took a lot of time for me to learn BBOS development so I cannot just dump it. This proves that most of my reasons are personal and not an argument. But point 3 is an advise.
