For many years I have been trying to understand how to pay tithe. I read many books, listened to bible jurists, but I have never been blessed with the sort of understanding I received from reading your message. I know and have faith that at the end of this month I will pay my tithe, I will have my testimony. God bless you Sir and give you the grace to continue your good work. |
Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, dead. RIP. |
CoolUsername:!!! It's such a brilliantly written book. |
soludo93:I wonder what the bible means by that. |
A lot of people pray a lot of the time. Sometimes their desire comes true, other times it doesn't. This is not different from any of the other quintillion times a prayer has been seemingly answered or unanswered. It certainly has no bearing on whether God exists or not, especially given the mundane subject of the prayer. And look at Christians jumping on this one happily. Tomorrow they will tell you that if you pray without faith God will never answer your prayer. |
CoolUsername:Hopefully. |
Ask FOLYKAZE or macof, they can help you with that. By the way, have you considered being unaffiliated? ![]() |
johnydon22:Indeed. It's fortunate that there are so many who need a only little push. Engaging one who is neck deep in it just leaves me with a headache, like this person I know that insists on saving my soul from hell even though she admits that she does not and will probably never have any answers to the questions I ask. According to her I need to suspend logic in matters concerning God but when I say God will bless those who deny him she says that is not logical. One only has so much energy. |
johnydon22:I was alarmed the first time I heard this. While it follows the usual pattern of people claiming divine inspiration/authority for their preferences, sometimes the extent it goes to catches you off guard. This OP doesn't like one set of songs so they are claiming that Allah hates all songs, and of course unlike any well adjusted person Allah settles differences in musical preferences with earthquakes and ulcers. The small-mindedness of the claim should tell anyone with half a brain that it could not have come from any God worth talking about, and yet look at where we are. |
First pictures, now this. Someone doesn't like art. |
I don't like that Campbell fellow. I hope Giroud and Walcott start instead. |
What you are doing at home is also Sunday service. |
. |
This would be cheaper than cosmetic surgery if you don't have to give any money to the church. |
Looks like they are now fighting. I heard the army is engaging the sect. People are reporting gunfire and explosions in Zaria, around the house of the sect's leader. |
akuracy:Give us their names. We need to clean up our ranks. |
What about famous people (atheists) who are not known for their atheism? |
It just follows. Since God makes us good, one without God is bad. If the atheist can be good without God then God appears weaker and this is undesirable. So the atheist must give way for God. |
sonOfLucifer:Lol. Strange book, eh? |
I don't concur with much of your OP but at least you agree that it is rational to consider the possibility that God does not exist. I don't think you would agree that it is rational to consider for example the possibility that the thing we call our Sun does not exist. I think this tells us something about the nature of the so called God. |
Lol. An omnipotent being wanted to "extend his government". An omniscient being felt that the best way to extend his government was to create human beings with free will who refuse to take instruction from him. I wonder what goes on in your head when you form thoughts like these. I've seen religious people come up with all sorts of purposes for why God created man. Until you are correct about what God's purpose for man is, you are not different from a person who goes and finds a purpose for himself without reference to God. |
johnydon22:Well we could notice an alternate universe although we will likely not be able to test and confirm. The particles which pop in and out of existence are observed. If a universe were to fluctuate into existence, we'd notice that something has popped into existence. We'd also notice that it hasn't disappeared right back. But how could we tell that it's a universe? I suppose that's where the wormhole comes in handy. |
Yes. I know this girl who's so fine it borders on blasphemy. People say she is mami water when they see her. Others say she's a succubus after they conveniently imagine she visited them in their sleep. Heaven is within arm's reach when we're together. I know in my heart that she is an angel, a real angel. Not an "angel". She craves flesh like a carnivore. |
johnydon22:True. There was something before the big bang, except that science can't say what it is due to the singularity. I guess the physicists have to find a way to reconcile that singularity with this quantum vacuum which has so far not managed to pop out another universe (to our notice). |
johnydon22:I don't think it affirms that. How does it do that? A quantum vacuum is also part of the universe we have to explain anyway, so I doubt you can call it "before the universe". We are making giant steps though. |
johnydon22:But you say the slight temporal change in energy level causes the particles to emerge. I think the quantum vacuum is sometimes referred to to show that nothingness is physically possible and that the world could have been a quantum vacuum at one point. The problem is that a quantum vacuum is arguably not the same as nothingness. |
BETATRON:You are mixing some ideas up, making some unnecessary assumptions. The prime mover is said to exist because we have not observed any effect without a cause but we don't expect that the world exists as a result of an endless chain of causes and effects. This Is more of an expectation, really. The intelligent designer is said to exist because we see apparent design in the things which exist and design implies a designer. It does not follow that the designer is self existent, or in other words the prime mover. Also, why do you think that your uncaused effect should also be intelligent? Keep in mind that you don't like to hear that intelligence did not come from intelligence. I did not say unintelligence begat anything. |
If we are to take your position further we have to say that an intelligence which is capable of making a kidney must be even more wonderful and complex than the kidney. Since we infer the existence of this intelligence because we find the kidney too wonderful to have been made by anything other than an intelligence, this our wonderful intelligence must rely on another more wonderful intelligence for its existence which in turn relies on an even more wonderful intelligence which in turn relies on another more wonderful intelligence, and so on. The moral of the story is either that intelligence begets kidneys or it does not. |
You need to make up your mind about whether God can or cannot be seen. |
An omniscient being cannot think since it already knows what it was going to think about. So, no. |
