Kyase:The capital. |
You don't understand God's ways either since his ways are mysterious. You are over rating the value of understanding God. |
Here in Kaduna state, we were buying fuel from the black market at N1000 (USD3) per gallon. This week, following a proper ban on the sale of fuel in jerry cans, fuel is scarce at the black market too. We now buy the gallon at N1500 - N2000. So that's 375 - 500 per litre. If you tried to fill up an 80 litre tank at this rate, youd spend N40, 000. People have taken to parking cars in queues at filling stations, pending when the station gets fuel to sell. The roads are much freer. Transport fares have tripled, as most of the commercial cars are either off the roads or buying petrol at the new price. There is now a sea of people walking to their destinations or waiting for the fewer available commercial cars. I can no longer drive as I see fit, it's mostly home to office now. Of course there's still the light problem, so the gen is on a very tight timetable for some of us. It's off for most. The blackouts are very black now. We are quite fxcked here. This is my humble complaint. |
You'll scare yourself to death soon. |
barbaricman:I didn't count them personally, but they were counted. You will be happy to know that I was wrong, there are now more Christians in Nigeria. Read here: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_Nigeria. Which other topic I dey bring? Just tell me why majority Muslim countries like UAE and KSA are progressing financially since you claim that majority Muslim states don't record progress. The islamization we are talking about is in Kaduna state. Stay on track, fowl. |
asalimpo:If the story is true I'm not being sarcastic. |
barbaricman:Please explain exactly how you think this Islamization will proceed. Over 50% of Nigerians are Muslim. If it's financial progress you are referring to, how will you account for the progress Nigeria has been making? How about the UAE or KSA? See as you just open mouth dey bleat like goat. |
You might not have realised the significance of the parable of the young boy who could not get the bicycle he wanted despite praying fervently for it. This poor young boy then permanently took another person's bicycle and prayed for forgiveness from God. Reflect on this parable and you might find the guidance you seek. Shalom. |
I just hate dogs so much. Thanks for asking. |
There have been threads like this one. Here's the most recent one I can recall: https://www.nairaland.com/1855866/why-atheist My post on that thread: finofaya:Edit: I realised posting that link alone does not exactly serve the purpose of your thread, so here's my tuppence. |
ogechieku:Has an atheist damaged you personally? |
So God can now manufacture phone components. Maybe in a few more years he will be advanced enough to manufacture the entire phone. Then you can tap thin air three times and have a phone drop into your lap. |
He has a fixation with aircraft. |
UyiIredia:A self existent thing should be the explanation for its own existence. Such a thing does require explanation, with the qualification that it should explain itself. It is not explained by any other thing. If you say God is self existent and requires no explanation then you don't have a concrete grasp of the concept of self existence. There are in fact many explanations for a self existent God and they are rejected by atheists. When you say that God is self existent you are making two claims; that there is something which is self existent and that this thing is a deity. The latter does not follow from the former so it is hardly an open and shut matter to say that God is self existent. |
ogechieku:Why do you think people choose to become atheists? |
Kaykaymil:If you have information you would have used it in the OP. Your Facebook analogy misses the mark entirely. The point it addresses does not even favour you, since I can equally ask you how God could have came into being in a different manner from Facebook. Tell me, if you believe that Facebook did not evolve but was created, how can you believe that God was not created but evolved? Are you trying to say that something can come from nothing? The mistake you're making is thinking that the problem of how anything came into existence can be explained away by calling on God. Arguing for the existence of God on the ground that anything which exists must have been created by God is a self defeating argument, since God is also a thing which exists and must therefore have been created by God. It also begs the question; why must anything which exists be created by God? The answer to that question is also self defeating, as sonofLucifer has explained. That matter of words and opposites in your OP is a joke. I hope you don't take it seriously. So you now have a rough idea of where to start from next time you want to address the concerns of atheists |
ogechieku:What are you trying to say? Should the mind of an atheist be a strong, cowardly mind? |
OP how can you be this uninformed about an issue and still claim to have an opinion? You are a spectator of this topic of atheism for now. Stop running into the field. |
ogechieku:You were saying that my mind is too soft for atheism. |
ogechieku:My dear, you are not understandable. Can you shed more light on the type of mind an atheist should have? |
ogechieku:You're so mysterious. |
ogechieku:Lol. All theists are brave and intelligent. Especially you. |
I hate to say this |
Strange camo on that jet. How is it supposed to blend? |
We didn't defend parts 1 & 2 but you still gave us part 3. Do you promise to withhold parts 4, 5 & 6 until some atheist has defended this part? What can we do to prevent parts 4, 5 & 6? I know that you're a nice and agreeable person and we can work together in harmony. |
You didn't witness the collision. You most likely don't know if it was the driver's fault or not. If it was not his fault you have nothing to feel guilty about. Even if it was his fault, I think you made the right decision in the circumstances considering that he would probably now be dead if you had ID'd him. |
Looks like LARP to me |
I think we can safely say that he is not Allah since there are pictures of him. Another benefit of Islam is that people with appearance cannot just wake up and claim to be your deity. |
She has been replaced. We will miss her. |
Who didn't know that there are demons involved in porn? Porn is still a sin, last I checked. |
You meant actual legal right. With respect to a supernatural deity. Oh well. |
asalimpo:But if holiness has any moral value, it is an arbitrary value. God can decide to be evil and still be right, as you say. This means that being either holy or unholy have the same moral value or at best arbitrarily different moral values. God can be good even if he is full of sin, because what is good is merely provisionally good. That's why I said it doesn't make any difference to God's goodness if he is full of sin. Your position is actually one that rules out objective good and evil since, firstly, one same action can be good or bad depending on whether it was carried out by God or man and next, an act is only bad if God says it is bad. An objectively bad thing is bad no matter who does it or decrees it. That's why I said we have come back to your starting point of addressing the supposed goodness of God. I suppose you are now comparing laptops to human beings. God sees us as laptops, abi? Our having consciousness does not make us entitled to better treatment than laptops, does it? God is only interested in how much mightier than us he is. Since issues of legality are not appropriate to a supernatural deity I'm assuming you mean moral justification. I have to disagree that one person is morally justified in treating another person anyhow they please, even torturing and killing said person, just because one is in a position of power over the other. That is a rather psychopathic justification for bad conduct and I should be surprised that you're willing to excuse your deity with it but I know better. You're either a psychopath yourself or you're in so much fear of Yahweh, who you say is love, that all you can manage is sycophancy. |
