Family / Re: How Do I Handle My Hyper-active Daughter, She's Barely 3years by FirstNg1: 2:07pm On Jul 02, 2023
Mister123:
Hello guys. Greetings to you. Please don't mind muy grammar, I'm not here for English classes lol.
My first child's almost 3years, trust me that girl can be playing and roaming about 24/7. As long as she's not asleep, her mum and I are always talking, don't do this, don't do that. Sometimes I lose my cool you know. I'm planing to enroll her into a conventional school by September because she seems really smart. My question here is, how do I handle her, she can't just stay in one place and our apartment is not really safe for her to be playing outside.
Parents and expert in the house please assist a brother with an idea of what to do.
Thank you

You can start by not feeding your lovely, smart daughter with any processed, manufactured or preserved foods, drinks and especially sugar, high GI, etc. Anything that doesn't come from the earth exactly as God made it; and fresh, don't feed her with it.
VERY IMPORTANT.
Also limit grains, etc

Feed her with only "THE RIGHT" FRESH ORGANIC FOODS.
You will know the right foods, etc, for her by the way she reacts after eating them; and whether or not she likes them - being conscious that not everything she likes is necessarily good for her; but just a guide.
All left-overs to be immediately refrigirated in order to keep them fresh.

What we eat and drink directly affect our hormones - which determine how every organ (including our brain) in our body functions and how we act/react.

The right ORGANIC diet and a healthy lifestyle is the solution to virtually all human health and emotional problems.

Also Google hyperactivity (and other behavioural disorders) for more information; so that you are properly equipped to identify the right medical intervention - as necessary.

Good luck.

RIP to the dead.
May God comfort and heal their families an friends.

Meanwhile, these tragic loss of lives could have been avoided.

The police should learn to de-escalate volatile situations in order to avoid needless loss of lives. It's not as if we have the power to wake up those who ha been so needlessly killed!

In this particular case, the police could have retreated, then mounted surveillance, deployed it's intelligence unit and arrest the suspect without incident - at a later date.

Unless the Police is trying to impress someone or group of persons, the sheer display of force ought to be minimised , in every situation - in favour of intelligence gathering an non-violent operational tactics - except in deliberate armed confrontations of course.

Police should stop acting as if they are at war with the Nigerian people because there is a limit to what people can take before they resort to self-defence; if the police inadvertently show themselves as the enemy, rather than an independent arbiter and the friend and protector of the people.

It's time for the police to become The Police Service rather than the Police Force.

Nigeria cannot afford yet another theatre of conflict. We have far too many already; and the arned forces are already stretched too thin, killing our own people - for one reason or another.

Religion / Re: Concerning Tithes, Offerings, Firstfruits & Partnerships - Giving The Right Way by FirstNg1: 9:39am On Nov 10, 2019
unstoppable51:
In recent time, the subject and practice of “giving” has raised so much dust to prove that “giving is a very fundamental practice to the Christian faith.”

From tithes to offerings, to firstfruits and partnerships, the Bible never leaves us in the dark concerning how to go about giving in order to honour and glorify God with our resources and as well curb excesses or abuse.

What does the Bible especially the New Testament teach concerning Tithes, Offerings, Partnership etc? Is it still right to practice these things as believers in Christ?

In a bid to fight against manipulations on pulpits, most people have come out to say it is not right to practice one type of giving or the other in the New Testament. While it is true that the New Testament is not loud or is completely silent on different kinds of giving like Tithes, Firstfruits, etc, it is also true that there is no where the New Testament or the whole Bible expressly spoke against them.

What the authors of the New Testament actually took time to address in the epistles, is the motives behind everything we do today as believers - including giving.

“.…..whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31b

If you give whether Tithes, Offerings, Firstfruits, Seeds or even Partnerships because a preacher promised you an overnight multiplication of finances, you have just been scammed. You will get nothing out of it, seeing that you never really gave it to honour the Lord and to see His work prosper. You gave it out of greed to have your money doubled overnight. And God is no money doubler.

If you give to be seen and praised of men, have your name engraved on church walls and seats, that’s the only reward you will get out of it. Regardless of how much you gave. You must never give to impress any man.

Always be alert against manipulators on suits who use fear and threats to force you to give. They may come to you saying things like “if you don’t give you won’t get blessed. Your business will be cursed, your health attacked and you will go to hell.” Such are the messengers of Satan who are only after their own belly. Never give in to their threats.

“For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.” (Rom 16:18)

The man in Christ is an already blessed being. He does not need to give in order to keep curses, destroyers and satanic attacks away from him. The blessings of God already bestowed on him ensures that.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” (Eph 1:3)

The man in Christ is to give as God has prospered him, bearing in mind that his giving or not giving will go a long way to affect the work of the Gospel, since it takes money to acquire and maintain things like public address systems, church buildings etc.

“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work” (2Co 9:7-cool

A believer can purpose in his heart to give 10, 20, 30 or 90 percent of his resources on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly basis. He has not sinned in any way regardless of the name that kind of giving is called in his local church in line with the Word. If it is done cheerfully without any form of manipulation, to honour the Lord and support His work, then there is a reward for it which the Lord Himself will give us.

So can believers still practice the giving of Tithes, Offerings, Partnerships etc in church today?
As long as the motives for such is in line with the scriptures(to honour the Lord, support ministers and fellow believers in the work of ministry) , there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

In our local church (Grace Word Assembly), we are perfectly fine with just the regular offerings and ministry partnerships that we give in our church branches. But that does not make us any better than other churches where people give more than that. Neither does this mean that if any member decides of his or her own will to give more than what we regularly give in church, we will reject it. No we won’t. As long as they have properly understood what the Bible truly teaches concerning giving, it is all good.

I hope this blesses you. Say “I choose to honour the Lord, with my resources. Through my giving, the work of the Gospel will prosper in my locality and all over the world. Glory to God!”

This just another attempt to deceive people to keep giving to the Church!

How come you conveniently omitted the most important aspect of giving - which is giving to, and helping the poor and the needy - without ANY EXPECTATION OF REWARD?

You keep giving to the church and the poor and the unemployed continue to increase - until Nigeria has become the poverty capital of the world!

Jesus and all the Apostles served and glorified God by helping the poor and the needy.
They healed them, fed them, raised their dead, etc - without demanding or expecting any material compensation in return under the guise of tithe, offerings, covenants, etc.

Jesus held crusades without teaching or taking offerings, tithes etc. Instead, he not only fed the congregation, he gave them take-aways!

Jesus specifically told Peter three (3) times: FEED AND TEND MY SHEEP!
He also gave the parable of the good Samaritan, and then told the rich young man to sell all that he had acquired and give to the poor BEFORE he can follow Christ - all in order to teach us to help the needy - without expectation of reward; and not to make prosperity the main reason for living.

In the First Church in Act Chapters 2 and 4, the disciples applied 100% of all the voluntary contributions to caring for the poor and the needy.
Also, they did not lead as Masters or Bosses. THEY SERVED.

Jesus also said "He who will lead among you, let him be the servant of all" and that LOVE IS THE IDENTITY OF A DISCIPLES. We a disciples of Jesus Christ because we love in obedience to the commandment of Christ.

Is it that Jesus does not want us to be blessed? NO. IT IS BECAUSE WE ARE ALREADY BLESSED WITH EVERYTHING, THROUGH THE FINISHED WORK OF JESUS CHRIST.
We are co-heirs with Christ so everything that God has belong to us. We have been restored to dominion over God's creation (except other people of course) and HAVE NOW BEEN PREPARED FOR GOOD WORKS. WE ONLY NEED TO WALK ON IT!
So every disciple of Jesus Christ will get every blessing whenever he/she is physically and spiritually matured, and disciplined/KNOWLEDGEABLE enough to handle/manage it - without harming himself and others.
GOD DOES NOT REQUIRE PAYMENT FOR ANY BLESSING, that is diminishing God, the Almighty, to a pedestrian human product-salesman level; OR JUST AN ATTEMPT TO CREATE A GOD WHOM YOU CAN CONTROL!!!

AS A DESCIPLE OF JESUS CHRIST, YOU SERVE AND GLORIFIED GOD BY LOVING AND SERVING/HELPING PEOPLE - ESPECIALLY THE POOR AND THE NEEDY, not some businessman running a church business!
That is the example set by Jesus and the Apostles as clearly recorded in the New Testament.

Jesus directed his disciples to:
"Go ye into all the world, AND TEACH WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU".
Jesus NEVER said teach the Old Testament or other doctrines and dogma!

Have you asked yourself why many churches-goers and Church leaders are the opposite of the above?

Jesus and the Apostles NEVER built a church structure or asked anyone to.

The first church was built 325 years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, by King/Emperor Constantine who quickly realised that it was a cheaper and more effective way to DOMINATE AND CONTROL PEOPLE AND THEIR ASSETS - than force of weapons, the law, etc.
Others have followed his examples ever since - manipulating things and people to varying degrees - for their own gain - either money, power, control or relevance.

Trust Nigerians to over-sabi, as long as there is a promise that some mystical power will handle all their life issues, rather than using their brains to create - just like most other races.

For example, ships were travelling the seas far and wide even at the time of King Solomon and Apostle Paul travelled widely by ship but we still can't construct a basic Nigerian ship to travel a short distance from Marina to Apapa, Lagos, in 2019!
Similarly, I'm yet to hear of a church who can produce a single microphone or drum, which they constantly use your money to buy from foreign countries - enriching those countries and pauperising you, while thousands of Engineers fill their churches!!!

Nigerians, THINK!!!

The earlier you free yourself from the captivity of church doctrines, the healthier your relationship with God, man and yourself will be.

Shalom

Al BHAGDADI
"The tithe is his, and the only thing you can do with it is to take it to his house, nowhere else."

In line with your submission in the above quote then, the house (temple of God) of God is the body of the believer and not a structure made by human hands.

Therefore, by your own argument, I can use my tithe on my person as I desire: and also on others - which is in line with what God clearly states in the book of Deuteronomy.

Jesus's Great Commission is for His followers to "go ye into all the world, making disciples of all; AND TEACHING THEM ALL THAT I HAVE COMMANDED YOU" The summary of all the commandments of Jesus is to:
1) love God
2) Love your neighbour to the same standard as you love yourself
3) Treat all, as you would like to be treated. (- in the best manner within your capacity)

Do today's Church ever mention these? I doubt it - except perhaps for the Catholic Church (im Pentecostals, not Catholic).

Clear examples of the first Church are recorded in the book Acts Chapters 2 and 4, where collections were TOTALLY VOLONTARY and 100% applied to the care of the poor and the needy; with the Apostles declining to handle any but choosing to devote themselves to prayer and the ministry.
Which church does that today

Also in the entire ministry of Jesus Christ, He NEVER once collected tithes or offering, neither did he preach them. Instead, he would not only feed the people who attended his crusades but give them take-away meals.

Today, the poor are not only manipulated and exhorted to pay tithes and offering in order to feed the Pastors, they are also scammed and coerced into funding and labouring for free, at their busineses and funding their obscene lifestyle, luxuries and hugh amounts of cash stored away in 'safe heavens' and other tax-evasion schemes.

It was a deliberate thing that Jesus NEVER bought or even rented a boat, Ass a or Camel. Same with the Apostles. As widely travelled as Apostle Paul was, he never bought any either. He paid like any other paying passenger.

That was to set an example for future disciples to follow but trust our people who never fail to take advantage of the vulnerable and plunder them into desolation!
They just have to imitate their Obas, Igwes, Ezes, Emirs and Military dictators, running their own Empires, justifying and securing them by any means necessary!
IMITATING JESUS AND THE APOSTLES IS JUST TOO BORING AND UNPROFITABLE FOR TODAY'S CHURCH BUSINESSES!

Every MOG is preaching the gospel that suits his pocket and his delusions of an Empire.

Those who fail to study the Bible for themselves, especially the NEW TESTAMENT, the miracle chasers, those looking for short-cuts; and the death of their enemies (who are mere stepping stones to goodness and greatness - for the informed and the knowledgeable) are in for a very long thing!

GOD SAID:
1) GET KNOWLEDGE.

2) WHATEVER IT COSTS YOU, GET UNDERSTANDING.

3) TO THOSE WHO HAVE REJECTED KNOWLEDGE L, I, THE LORD, HAVE ALSO REJECTED YOU AND YOUR GENERATION!
(Kindly note that both knowledge and ignorance are generational that is, they can be passed from one generation to the next, etc).

You have made yourselves mince-meat in the hands of MOG aka GOM!!!

Plz I need help, Dont even mind my Grammar please I have to summarise this. My husband of 5yrs now behaves so strange in our home since we got Married. I didn't really date him, because it was a distant relationship before we finally says Yes"

He is a nice Man, I mean kind in nature, but I noticed he is not moved at all no matter how hot I am, this has been bordering me since. I have been the one initiating Sex since our marriage. God has been on my side we have two kids now, I have tried all I could, all abortive.

Most of his friends are just small boys, I have even caught him with one particular one, that nearly sent me home.... is all About this Guy then, he even spent months in same room with him, till i saw one hell chat from the small boy, that he should try and shave his Penis. That one really got me Mad, I have to pursue that one. I can say he is no longer in the picture again, but am still not convinced because he like keeping to himself.

I know he is an Introvert to the extreme, but he don't behave like a real Alpha Male, I have to force him in even sharing same Bed with me, am really disturbed now because am really tired of this.

There was a time I had to Involve his family I noticed that his immediate elder bro knew about it, that was when I sent that particular guy away, I have been hoping he will change am not sure of that..

Please help me.

Dear OP
My earlier post refers.

Please be sure to avoid any entitlement mentality or condemning your husband; because if your actions or attitude make him feel like he is the devil, you will be shocked ar how quickly your hitherto kind and nice husband (who has not reacted negatively to your actions to date) will morph into a devil that you cannot control!

While I do not condone his marrying you without full disclosure, this a problem created by our judgemental and hypocritical society; AND YOU ARE BOTH VICTIMS!

Cleverly weave the Philippines President Rodriguez Dueterte's confession video of being a converted gay, into calm gist/conversation with your husband and at the same time, forward the video to his phone. If he us able or willing to try and change into a heterosexual like Dueterte did, stand by him. If not, let him be and pursue the next best option - not just for you alone; but also for him and your children.

Whatever you do and decide, TREAT YOUR HUSBAND WITH RESPECT AND KINDNESS AT ALL TIMES - FOR YOUR OWN SAKE - and in order to avoid "stories that touch". A word, they say, is enough for the wise.

Good luck.

The current president of the Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte, said at a public forum, that he used to be gay but that his current wife converted him from being gay to a regular heterosexual male; and as a result of their relationship, he is no longer attracted to men but rather, is now very much attracted to his wife - because of the great love and strong bond that they share.

Op, you should google the speech please. It should be available on YouTube.

It thus seem that a gay can change - if he really wants to; especially if he is in a relationship with the right (or non-judgmental), loving and knowledgeable woman.

I feel your pain but if you really want a solution, don't make this all about you because your husband is in pain too; and already feel condemned by society.

If a were you, I would aim for a win-win solution - that is in the best interest of all concerned.

I sincerely hope and pray that you find the right answers and make the decisions that are right for your family as a whole.

sad Even though I'm a born again Christian, I'm terribly ashamed of the way we Christians conduct ourselves and handle depression. Unlike our Muslim brothers who would rather make lemonade when life throws them lemons, we Christians will rather commit suicide out of cowardice. We indeed have a lot of lessons to learn from our Muslim counterparts sad

That's because Moslems and Catholics offer real help and support to others - especially in time of trouble, while the typical born-again will even exthort whatever little you have left and leave you desolate - just like most of their Pastors and G.O's do!

That's why many born-again who have faced major challenges in life, either leave the Church, set up their own or end up committing suicide!

Typical non-orthodox born-again people today are among the world's most self-centred and cruel people in the world - totally lacking in conscience, understanding, compassion, emphaty and other qualities that make us human!
Rather, they seem totally consumed by the need to subjugate other people so that they can control them and their possessions for personal gain and glory - just like many of their G. O's!

And before born-again people go up I arms, I've been born-again for about 40 years, been Deacon and Pastor, before retreating to my own lane with God. I found the born-again movement to be with even lower standard (if any) than when I was in the 'world'!

Travel / Poverty In The Uk by FirstNg1: 8:16am On May 22, 2019
Poverty in the UK is 'systematic' and 'tragic', says UN special rapporteur.

The UK's social safety net has been "deliberately removed and replaced with a harsh and uncaring ethos", a report commissioned by the UN has said.
Special rapporteur on extreme poverty Philip Alston said "ideological" cuts to public services since 2010 have led to "tragic consequences".

The report comes after Prof Alston visited UK towns and cities and made preliminary findings last November.
The government said his final report was "barely believable".

The £95bn spent on welfare and the maintenance of the state pension showed the government took tackling poverty "extremely seriously", a spokesman for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) said.

Prof Alston is an independent expert in human rights law and was appointed to the unpaid role by the UN Human Rights Council in June 2014.
He spent nearly two weeks travelling in Britain and Northern Ireland and received more than 300 written submissions for his report.

He concluded: "The bottom line is that much of the glue that has held British society together since the Second World War has been deliberately removed and replaced with a harsh and uncaring ethos."

The Australian professor, who is based at New York University, said government policies had led to the "systematic immiseration" of a significant part of the UK population, meaning they had continually put people further into poverty.

'Our school, the fourth emergency service'

Inequality driving 'deaths of despair'

Poverty 'tightens grip on poorest children'

Some observers might conclude that the DWP had been tasked with "designing a digital and sanitised version of the 19th Century workhouse, made infamous by Charles Dickens", he said.

The report cites independent experts saying that 14 million people in the UK - a fifth of the population - live in poverty, according to a new measure that takes into account costs such as housing and childcare.

In 2017, 1.5 million people experienced destitution, meaning they had less than £10 a day after housing costs, or they had to go without at least two essentials such as shelter, food, heat, light, clothing or toiletries during a one-month period.

Despite official denials, Prof Alston said he had heard accounts of people choosing between heating their homes or eating, children turning up to school with empty stomachs, increased homelessness and food bank use, and "story after story" of people who had considered or attempted suicide.

He said the cause was the government's "ideological" decision to dismantle the social safety net and focus on work as the solution to poverty.

"UK standards of well-being have descended precipitately in a remarkably short period of time, as a result of deliberate policy choices made when many other options were available," said Prof Alston.

Analysis: 'Life has become a lot harder'
By Michael Buchanan, BBC social affairs correspondent
To anyone familiar with the shifting landscape of Britain's poorest communities since 2010, there is nothing factually new in these findings.

By highlighting them in one short, 20-page report, however, Philip Alston raises a fundamental question - is the government, and the country, comfortable with the society that we've become?

He outlines the normalisation of food banks, rising levels of homelessness and child poverty, steep cuts to benefits and policing, and severe restrictions on legal aid.

In Professor Alston's view, these are the unequivocal consequences of deliberate, calculated political decisions.

Ministers have long argued they had no choice but to cut public spending. Whatever the motivation, life has become a lot harder in recent years for millions of people in the UK.

The DWP said that the UN's own data put the UK 15th on the list of the happiest places to live.
"This is a barely believable documentation of Britain, based on a tiny period of time spent here.
It paints a completely inaccurate picture of our approach to tackling poverty," a spokesman said.

"All the evidence shows that full-time work is the best way to boost your income and quality of life," the spokesman added.

Prof Alston praised the "resilience, strength and generosity" of British people, as well as the compassion of local officials and volunteers.
Food bank supplies help record numbers

The 20-year promise that proved impossible
In-work poverty hits 2.9 million children.

And he said there had been some positive developments, with increases in the Universal Credit work allowances expected to lift 200,000 people out of poverty, and plans to introduce a consistent measure of poverty.

But he said the "massive disinvestment" in the social safety net continued, making the changes seem like "window dressing to minimise political fall-out".

Despite the government's focus on work and record levels of employment, about 60% of people in poverty are in families where someone works, Prof Alston said.

He said this, along with welfare cuts, created a "highly combustible situation that will have dire consequences" in an extended economic downturn.

My concern and answers I need are:

(1)
What was the PURPOSE of the tea drinking visit by God?

The God we know is a God of purpose and there is purpose in everything He does.
Even alll the angelic visitations in the Bible, including where they eat were for specific purposes.

It is very important that the handlers of Pst Adeboye's twitter handle let us know God's purpose for the tea drinking visit and it's relevance to us and why we are being informed. For example,

A) Did God give Pst Adeboye a new message or idea that will solve any of the numerous problems in Nigeria or the world?

(B)
If not, did Pst Adeboye use the opportunity to ask God:

B1) How the senseless killings in Nigeria, including the killing of Christians can stopped - particularly under a government that has his visible endorsement through VP Osinbajo and Pst Oluremi Tinubu, wife of the governing APC leader, who are people he endorsed as his prominent pastors?

(B2) How the Christian virgin innocent girls of Chibok, Leah, Sharibu who risked her life to honour Jesus where even some Pastors would have failed, and the vast number of known and unknown victims of injustice in Nigeria could be saved?

(B3)
Etc

(C)
What is the purpose of informing us about this tea drinking visit by God?
-What does Pst Adeboye hope we should learn from it or do because of it - other than to further coerce people to do whatever he wants done, which is mainly to continue giving ever-increasing money and assets to his Church, instead of using the resources to directly and individually help the poor and the needy, like Jesus commanded?

In addition, Jesus told His disciples who had been with Him for long, that He had many more things to tell them but would not because they could not understand.

So why is Pst Adeboye telling us things which we cannot understand and can even lead others into sin - without any explanations as to its purpose or relevance to us?

If it has no relevance to us, and Pst Adeboye did not sieze the opportunity of the tea-drinking visit by God, to get any practical solutions to any of our numerous and critical problems in Nigeria, then it's a private matter that we don't need to be informed about!

Now that you have chosen to tell us what we cannot understand, you have a responsibility to at least make so effort to help us understand!

Nigeria is virtually sinking and bleeding from every angle and this what Pst Adeboye can give Nigeria at such a highly critical time?!!!

Can't fault this article anywhere. Seems to dwell on facts - without bias, emotion or agenda.

Apart from note 6 being the latest version, what is the difference between

Redmi note 5AI (4/64gb)---62k

and

Redmi note 6 pro (4/64gb)---73k?

Which one would you recommend and most importantly, WHY?

Answer here please, (rather than refer me to your number) so that others can also contribute their experiences.

Family / HOMELESSNESS IS: Living In The USA On $1,000 (n360,000 @N360/$1) Per Month by FirstNg1: 3:06pm On Jan 24, 2019
RE: HOMELESSNESS IS: LIVING ON $1,000 PER MONTH IN THE USA

AN INCREDIBLE BUT TRUE STORY!

What standard of living does $1,000 a month give you in the US?

I'm living on a bit less than that, and have been doing so for over six years now. So here it is, right from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

I don't currently receive food stamp benefits. When I do receive food stamp benefits, the amount I receive is $16 a month. The reason I receive so little is because I am single and I do have an income of over $800 a month. People who receive higher amounts of food stamp benefit have lower income, or more dependents.

Yes, it is possible (though difficult) to get a place for $500 a month. However, what none of the other answers have mentioned is that in order to get into that $500 a month apartment requires $1500 up front before you can sign a lease and move in. That's first month's rent, last month's rent, and a security deposit. Even with an income of $1000 a month, you will never get into housing.

Furthermore, there's some kind of financial formula in use here which states that no one can afford to pay over 30% of their income on housing. $500 a month is 50% of your $1,000 a month income. You cannot get approved for housing that costs 50% of your income. So your options are limited to homelessness or roommate situations. Neither is a very reliable way to live. I'm certain somewhere here on Quora there are questions about the worst roommate nightmare you've ever experienced and hundreds of horror stories in response. I could tell a few myself, but that would be beside the point.

So, I am homeless. My food budget is less than $20 a week. I work hard, I skimp and cut corners in ways that seem bizarre to affluent folks. A few months ago I acquired a camper, complete with kitchen and bathroom. These simple luxuries are something I simply did without for more than 6 years. They aren't strictly necessary (shower, toilet, refrigerator, stove), because I've been surviving without these things for all these years. That's why I call it a luxury instead of a need. However, they do make things significantly cheaper as well as more comfortable. I can shower in my camper for free, provided I have the water with which to do so. Without this simple luxury, one must either pay $15 to take a shower at a truck stop, or over $40 a month for a gym membership to have access to showering. With a gym membership, you can shower as often as you like, so that is by far the cheapest option if you are homeless. If you're in an area that has no gym, you can't afford to shower every day at $15 per shower. So you go without, often for longer periods of time than society deems acceptable. You have no idea how much money you save when you have your own shower, or how fantastic it feels to have finally earned the ability to shower as often as you like, anytime you want, with no waiting.

The kitchen also saves a ton of money because it allows you to have groceries. Without a kitchen you are limited to prepackaged foods that require no refrigeration and no preparation. And those things add up quick. Very pricey. Impossible to survive on a mere $20 a week when restricted to those kinds of food items. But ten bucks will buy a pound of good lunchmeat and a pound of cheese. Bread can be purchased quite cheaply. Applesauce and a gallon of milk are each more expensive than bread, but that's the complete grocery list for the week. Then you have to ration yourself so that you don't eat it all up in less than a week. This might mean only 2 or 3 sandwiches each day. When you're really hungry and having a sandwich, it is often extremely difficult to stop at just one sandwich. You have to learn to be content with being less hungry, instead of wanting to be full.

When you get the opportunity to use a public restroom, you'll unspool as much toilet paper off the roll as you can fit in your pockets. If you go to a convenience store or gas station, you'll pocket some little packets of sugar or ketchup or some plastic spoons or forks. You scavenge for empty trash bags (many gas station employees leave a roll of trash bags out at the pumps). Sure, it isn't grand theft auto, nothing felony level, but you feel like a thief and you try to console yourself by telling yourself you're not a thief, you're just a scavenger, it's a matter of survival, only temporary, and you'll find a way out of this somehow, eventually.

You discover that society judges your humanity based solely upon the amount of money you have, the stuff you possess, the resources available to you. At first it is shocking to discover that no one looks at you, that their eyes slide by and they ignore you if you speak or smile, like you're not even there, like you don't even exist. You are SHUNNED, and within the first two weeks the emotional and psychological impact of the shunning is devastating. It only grows more profound the longer it continues.

Those who don't shun are more inclined to abuse than to be kind. It is quite common, particularly during cold weather, that a housed person will throw a cold drink at a homeless person, soaking them. This person will simultaneously begin to scream “GET A (BLEEP) JOB YOU LAZY WORTHLESS (BLEEP)” and sometimes continues on in this vein at length, growing bleepier and purple-faced and spitting the longer it goes on. It is not just one guy. People are doing this all over the place.

It is also not uncommon for a homeless person to be beaten. Those doing the beating are as likely to be housed as to be homeless.

It is also not uncommon for people posing as kind to offer a sandwich or a bottle of water to a homeless person, when in reality they have poisoned that food or that water and they walk away from your murder before you even know you've been poisoned.

A homeless man was attacked by a large group of housed folks while he slept in his tent. They fell on the tent and beat him severely while he was trapped inside. Then they urinated on him. Then they poured gasoline on him. Then they set him on fire. Somehow, he survived. Your news channels rarely mention this sort of thing. Why would they? News is for stuff people care about.

These aren't isolated incidents. This is what it's like to be that poor in this country.

The lack of human contact drives us crazy. Many will eventually rescue a stray cat or dog. Why, when we can barely feed ourselves and have no shelter, would we obligate ourselves to take on the responsibility of an animal companion? This is one aspect of homelessness that has always perplexed the housed. So let me tell you why. That animal looks at us and sees us. No one else does, aside from the other homeless outcasts, many of whom have become predatory over the years, or the hateful abusers who seek to do violence against us. Furthermore, that animal loves us! Even though we can provide no stable home, even though we may have to root through garbage cans to find something to feed our animal, they bond with us. They know that we will feed them even if doing so means that we ourselves must be hungrier longer. They cuddle up against us and share their body heat. And they want us to touch them. Reach out to shake someone's hand and see them recoil from you. Reach out to pet a dog and see the touch not only welcomed but rejoiced in. Ecstatic pleasure just because you reached out and touched, when the undeniable message you receive from everyone else is that you are lowly, lazy, unworthy, untouchable. You have no idea what that feels like.

If you can manage to come up with an RV before your $1,000 a month limit kicks in, you'll be able to do all right. A spot in an RV park may add up to $500 a month or more, but you can camp for free for two weeks at a time in any national forest. And if you aren't paying rent, you can afford insurance and the gas necessary to get you from one national forest to the next when your two weeks expire. If you have any marketable skills, you can plan your trips around a variety of opportunities to earn some small amount of additional income as you travel from forest to forest, but it is never guaranteed and frequently fails to go according to plan. It's still your best bet for doing America on a thousand bucks a month. You get to see more of the country and have a variety of unique experiences that most of our citizens don't even know exist. A sleeping bag in a forest, cradled by moonlight and caressed by coyote songs. A bald eagle soaring overhead, clutching long clumps of wild grasses to soften the nest where the eggs will soon be laid. The incredible fortitude and determination of your fellow travellers whom you will encounter along the way. Many are far more poor than $1,000 a month, and have been so for far longer. They have remarkable stories to share, and songs, and jokes, and talents. The world of the poor can be surprisingly rich, if you take the time to try to look for it. No, it isn't easy. Anyone who really is lazy and unwilling to work does not survive homelessness long. This is because surviving homelessness IS a lot of work, it's really hard (both physically and mentally) and extremely time consuming. So many hours a day spent hunting a place to sleep, hunting for something to eat, walking for miles to get to a soup kitchen or a food pantry or an appointment with social services. They don't have time for a traditional employment positon because they're already working more than 16 hours a day, working harder than you can imagine at the simple task of staying alive. Things that never have to cross your mind. Over half of all homeless actually do have jobs. Many of these are indistinguishable to the casual observer from their appropriately housed counterparts. They don't look or smell homeless. They work. They seem like everybody else. But they live in their car and get a gym membership so they can shower as well as have the option of being indoors out of the weather while being treated exactly the same as every other paying customer. They go to the laundromat to wash and iron their work clothes. Some of them are even working more than one job, further reducing the number of hours spent on the street. But they can't make enough to get a place to live. They might get a week or two of hotel room once in a while.

I remember when I was one of the housed, before I first experienced homelessness. I remember what was normal to me then, when my income was nearly ten times what it is now. Yes, I used to be one of you. Most of us did. Does that surprise you? More surprising, it can happen to you, too, and much quicker than you might believe possible. AND I remember what I thought regarding the homeless. There is nothing I can do or say to ever apologize or make amends for having had those thoughts. I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm crying right now and that's making this harder to get through. I AM deeply sorry that there was a time when I did not understand. A time when I freely distributed $20 bills to friends who were short on the rent or a car payment or repair or to buy birthday gifts and throw parties…all the while ignoring the homeless, the truly needy, shunning them, refusing to look at them, recoiling from them. That's what I'm ashamed of, and all the sorry in the world won't fix it. But I am. I get it, now. I understand things that I could never have previously imagined, nor would I have wanted to.

That's what it's like in this country on a thousand bucks a month. Welcome to America.

Okay,so i don't know the right place to post this
My question, what can I take in Nigeria to reduce weight and fat.
I don't want any processed and packaged product
I mean a drink I can prepare my self with plants in nigeria
Please,I'd appreciate it if you're replying from experience

Try a mixture of ginger, turmeric, and garlic - either fresh or power. Add hot water, let stand for a while and drink morning and evening. You can also add fresh lemon - both juice and rind; or drink own its on - 2-3 daily.
I've also read that guava leaves help but yet to try it.

Add exercise or better still weightlifting (research/google it first). Also plenty green and cacifrrous vegetables and healthy oils (research/google it)

Avoid processed foods and drinks. Minimise stress and chemicals - including medications/drugs.

Share your results.
Good luck.
Romance / Re: Help Me Please, How Can I Handle My Wife Incessant Anger by FirstNg1: 6:49pm On Dec 01, 2018
SamJT:
we have been married for one year with a baby, but the problem i have with my wife is that she always get angry at any slightest provocation, sometime when am advising her or correct her after doing something wrong, she thinks am abusing her, infact she does not like being corrected, pls what can i do to help the situation because i feel helpless

This is the time for you and your wife to get to know each other better; and also to love and accept each other 'warts and all'. What you call 'correction', she interpretes as criticism; and nobody likes to be constantly criticised or corrected. It is your job to train your child, not your wife! You are to learn to love and support your wife, not train/correct her. She got married for love and support, not constant correction - which will end up making her feel inadequate, unloved and unappreciated, thus generating anger.
Try not correcting or criticising her for 1-3 months; instead, only praise her and you will be a happy man.
If you want to be happy and successful in marriage, go out of your way to make your wife happy and feel appreciated. But if not, or you want a shortened life-span, keep acting the know-it-all big boss and 'correcting' your wife!
It is possible that you are the controlling type - in which case, you are the problem and may need to see a professional Therapist or Marriage Counsellor to learn how to control yourself and your emotions, instead of controlling your wife and others.
Goodluck.
