I can't just hide my feelings anymore when I hear government complained about allocation from the federation account. During Governor Fashola's tenure as Lagos State governor, i'd concluded it will be difficult to see a genius like him in power anytime soon..... With the deprivation of federal allocation to all CDAs not recognised by the immediate past federal government and free ride of corrupt money flowing through power that be...Governor Fashola changed the face of Lagos in a seemingly impossible task.... The regime of another performing governor, his Excellency Governor Ambode lives one in doubt...in the face of recession and freezing of all channels of corruption and denied federal allocation to the new CDAs, the current Lagos government lives me with curiosity.... Is governance by federation allocation or brainy personality..... ?¿![]() Lagos wears a new look everyday.... Your take great nairalander. |

Irrespective of your business type, marketing and sales follows all most similar principle. In my opinion..... 1: Your product....How attractive is it... 2: Your location....How close is it yo your targets. 3: Your pricing......Does it have a competitive edge... 4: Unique selling point...Any additional value your customers will get from you... 4: ETC... I will suggest you determine your target market first. Finout their current price. Such market could be the mallam selling bread and egg, the women selling indomie and egg, the food sellers, retailers or distributors...all these will be determined by the size of your egg farm if you are farmer but if not....I think the options of retailers down the distribution chain is your best |

In growing attractive and profitable catfish, every catfish farmer must identify their area of strength...... This could be fries/fingerlings production, raising table size or raising brood stock. Each of these needs considerable technical skills and financial inputs.... *How attractive are your fingerlings in size and activeness. *How attractive is your broods in terms of eggs and milt. It is important thst catfish farmers give adequate attention to discover their best niche to get encouraging results. |
kennysympathy:The broods are more than a year old, the growouts are three months from hatching and the juveniles will be five weeks. |
Hello great intending and professional catfish farmers....I've read with great interest so many threads on catfish farming...kudos to the patriotic Catfish farmers for their invaluable contributions in helping out on so many challenges facing farmers in this sub sector. In growing attractive and profitable catfish...the following are expedient from my experience: 1. Get the right seedlings, fingerlings, juveniles from a good source with good track records. 2.Feed your fish with the right size of feeds at their first two months of stocking. 3. Maintain a clean and appropriate water quality for the fish. 4. Do sorting if not earthen pond as at when due..and check your average weight and quantity. 5. Feed your fish with quality feeds, don't compromise. 6. Maintain good pond management. 7. Do not be in haste to sell off your fish...be sure they are very ready for sales. 8. Calculate your total expenditure per fish to determine your prize margin... 9. Never give up on your first harvest if it falls short of expectation. 10. Secure your market first few months prior to harvest.... Wishing you all a profitable catfish business.
