As much as no parent will wish to have any of their children becomes househelp, live is sometimes hard such that parents are left with no choice to trade their children for survival. Many out of cunning information and promises, let go their children with the hope of a better life for them outside their abject poverty. Recently, I under took a research in my immediate neighbourhood of such children(househelp), the result turned out that a particular tribe will on most cases, registered such househelp into a school to recieve formal education where on return from school, such a child helps the boss in all home and business affairs with fair welfarism. Unlike the other tribe...who never cares about the househelp education, makes such househelp to work from morning till night and forcing such to take the bible as the companion....lol.... 1. Would you for any reason take a child as an househelp.... 2. If yes, how well will you treat such...... 3. Which of tribe do you think takes care of their househelp in Nigeria..... Thanks for your reactions |

Times have really changed, gone are the days when graduates only best shot is a corporate employment......today employment is by divine luck, connection and skills. The later(skill), has become the hope of every graduates, unfortunately the wall of the University rarely equip us with such skill hence, the need for internship as a graduate. As a graduate of Agric, I will advise you to discover your strength and limitations (weakness), should you want to start a related business in agriculture, what are your chances, analyse your chances, if above pass mark....go for it...but if below....seek alternative...... |

Scholar212:I read your post but will like to just summarise here....@Ttalk has spoken well.....indeed their are chances of bad seeds but no professional farm will sell out runt deliberately cos customers satisfaction is KEY....NOTE....professional farmers not quacks all over...... Secondly, your management techniques....who manages your dad's own...possibly someone managed better, trust me..... Always do your deligence to research more....agric business is capital intensive as such, it is expected of anyone coming into it to understand some basics.....but we often time ignore this advise Your pricing should largely depend on your cost of production...we farmers do not have a union, hence different pricing but the market/bulk buyers do have a strong union.... 1kg fish with the current price of feed is not less than #750....melange goes for #600-#650..... You must must equally research your target market....... |
aragon4realz:It could be as a result of infection or an attack......ensure your water is clean and feed your fish to satiation. Do regular sorting to prevent further attacks.... All the best. |
maco1:Not all earthen pond really needs treatment.....I stand to be corrected. ?..cos the question is what are you treating...I wonder most times when I read thread on such....are you treating water or soil, or microbes, etc. The composition and topography of your proposed site should determine such. Secondly, how experience are you in managing earthen pond, how well is your earthen pond secured Organic fertilizer....hmmmmm....sometimes we boost fish appetites and end up starving them cos of consumption rate...if you manage your pond well, your fish will grow well and healthy..... Best of luck |

Many thanks to the op I must acknowledge but my worries still bothers on the youths sincerity in actually seeking for job. Going through the thread, ii still beats my imagination why our youths will not take advantage of numerous alternatives today to use what they have to get what they want......many sound qualifications above...that can turned to self employment. No crime to seek for salary paid job in the agric sectors but in reality, how many farms can afford a monthly salaries which the worth is good enough for a certificate holder... ![]() Hence, the collapse of most farms due to lack of direct labours......My candid advise to job seekers interested in agric job is to ascertain their conviction....get hands on training from a reliable farm, such experiences will afford you funding opportunities.... Year 2018 is a promising year for funding, as application will soon be opened for youths between the ages of 18-40years. @AgroWealth Network, we offer opportunities to interested aspiring agropreneurs both in farming and grant application. And such for now must be a resident in Lagos. Interested to know more.....contact....agrowealth001@gmail.com Merry Christmas and a Happy new year. |

danbike:First, you need to find out what your target market demands.....I have customers who prefers non-degutted while many others prefers degutted. Need more info...08153701613....... All the best Removing gills and intestines otherwise known as degutted is simply to give more shelf life if well processed. But it has its disadvantage..it makes your fish smaller in size and may reduce value except you understand sales. Also, its more cumbersome and stressful if you must degut in tons. First, I advice you learn from experience fish processor...dont avoid such....it pays you eventually when compared with your first experience losses. You are expected to place your fish back downward and ventral upward....it depends on processor. |
