Congrats Newmum0615. Your efforts have truly been crowned in style. Good luck with planning and the rest of the process.

New blog post alert here.

Newmum0615:
Can everyone take a seat please? It’s going to be quite a read.

It’s my turn. grin

PPR has come to the glory of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

PS: To all our newbies, please take time out to read and understand this process. When you take offense at people who ask you to read more, it gives the impression that people that did exactly that are foolish. Imagine that no one took out time to study the process, who would you have confidence to ask for guidance? Please read, read and read. It can be overwhelming, I know, but the benefits surmount every stress you might encounter in figuring where and how to start. To access even the most basic of services in our Maple Leaf country, you would need to read and understand your rights and entitlements as a PR, T&Cs of certain services and all. Why not start now and imbibe that behavior?

…Off to continue dancing! See you guys lerra.

Thank you @Newmum0615 . The post has been updated thanks to you guys. I would like to keep things neutral and balanced.

Very quickly platforms can turn into a tool with which to beat or fight the establishment. I wouldn't want to. I have a family. I love them very much grin .

Like Faux news, I will keep it fair and balanced cheesy (A few shades here and there). Thanks for your feedback. Please keep them coming.

Nice one. I noticed it too but I made a mental note to comment on it later. @Fizzywah, good job on the blog there. I still need your comment on Nigeria Air though grin

Thanks Mcstan,

It's input like this one I cherish. I will update ASAP. Seeing as it serves the purpose of entry I said temporary. Thanks.

I need all the feedback I can get and I intend to shed light on the issues that we all will benefit from.

Thanks again.

mcstan18:
Observation my Lord.An excerpt from this story reads thus:

"...Like some already say, that’s the golden email that signifies you have gotten a request to send your passport for the issuance of a temporary PR visa into Canada."

It's a one-way (entry) visa actually. Temporary PR visa is more like an oxymoron.

So following the good news on here. I have been in stealth mode but must speak up because *in lasisi's voice* something just happened right now.

PPR has landed. Total process from AOR to PPR - 37 days.

Breakdown is as follows:

ITA - 11th April, 2018 (459 points)

AOR - 30th May, 2018 (Same day almost as soon as e-APR submitted)

ADR - 9th June 2018. Requested Travel History for me and madam (Plenty Waka Waka). This got me scared as I thought the Middle Eastern countries visited would pose problems.

MEP - 10th June, 2018.

IP1 - 15th June, 2018.

IP2 - 6th July, 2018.

PPR - Hours Later. 12:08AM Already slept off. Woke up this morning to the wonderful email. So ecstatic right now.

To be honest, I never dreamed the ITA will ever come after shunning Canada when I almost got it in 2011 before express entry (I believed in Nigeria, had a sudden change of heart and didn't submit my application. Village pipo). Then 67 points was all that was needed. IELTS was N30,000. Fastfoward being 6 years older with points begging to be rescued. I am grateful to God. I read here your valuable contributions, ideas and suggestions on how to go about certain things. Una well done. Keep being superb.

I am writing this to encourage those still waiting to be strong and patient in waiting. It'll happen sooner than you expect. My lips are still filled with praises. Make una help me thank God.

Good morning everyone, I'll need candid advice and guidance from the experienced ones the house, I intend relocating to Australia with my family of four, I have the needed cash to facilitate the process but am confused on how to kick start as many people who posed to be agents that help has turned out to be fake, can I go through a visit visa, if yes what are my chances of getting a PR or a work permit.when I get there. Candid advice and linking to the right source will be highly appreciated
To get started, it would be wise to go through this thread https://www.nairaland.com/3053069/general-guide-australian-permanent-resident which is exactly where you need to be to get most of the answers you need. Iscah doesn't post information for State nomination invites. U also won't see it on the list DIPB posts.
Any information u see on those places has nothing to do with state.
However, if you have superior English, you should get invite for VIC with 70+5. I don't know about NSW tho.
I'm assuming we are talking about ICT occupations here.
Yes we are talking about ICT specifically Software Engineer. I have applied for 190 for VIC (25/12/2017) with 70+5 points, Superior English and the normal 189 on 70 points. I thought the 189 would be a breeze (Little did I know....).

I looked through your posts just to get an idea of where you stand and I can understand how dogged you are. You have tried and still manage to answer questions here. Already i'm tending towards 'getting annoyed' at this whole thing. Patience now more than ever is a virtue.

I went through this thread and I didn't see anyone with a 70 point invited. So I'm confused?
Also with the tiny number of people invited on The 3rd, I'd be surprised any 70 will be invited.
Okay just so I don't mislead. People with 70 points got ITA (70+5) for 190 for NSW for those with superior points in English.

The October date even as reported on the thread was still attributed to Iscah. So I guess that's the info making the rounds. I did not apply for NSW. Remember you encouraged my to reapply for my 190 after withdrawing it following my score update. Hoping Victoria will start giving for 70+5 as well.

Again 17th January is the date on everyone's lips as the day for the 2nd round for the month. Let's hope it gets better.

Iscah used the word "unofficial" Jan 3rd result....meaning its specualtive at most...
only Homeaffairs releases authentic result and that's what i posted here.
So till Home affairs releases Jan 3rd result... whatever you see online is just speculation and to be taken with a pinch of salt.

No ITA yet...
Yeah I'm not challenging your post but besides the speculative nature of Iscah's post on invitation rounds I follow the thread on Expat Forum where applicants like you and I received ITA's for Jan 3rd on 70 points with a DOE before October 30th.

Whatever happens we will be patient it's just things aren't as clear as before.

See the thread link with testimonies from real applicants with their time lines as signatures.

@Alphadoor what's your DOE?

I was hoping you would have received an ITA by now. Correct me if I'm wrong.

aussy4life:
Hi everyone. Please landed seniors, the tap water in Australia is it good enough for drinking or do you need additional purifying.
Got the following from Melbourne Water Corporation. Could be similar for other major cities in Australia.

Melbourne has some of the world’s best drinking water, which we test regularly to ensure it meets strict water quality requirements — as well as checking aesthetics like colour, taste and smell.
What we test water for:

- clarity (turbidity)
- minerals and natural substances like iron and manganese
- colour
- pH
- bacteria, such as E. coli
- chlorine and fluoride levels
- contaminants like fuel and pesticides

Standards for water quality

All the water we supply, no matter where it comes from, must meet strict water quality requirements. We follow several laws and guidelines:

- Safe Drinking Water Act 2003 and Safe Drinking Water Regulations 2005, set and administered by the Department of Health and Human Services
- Australian Drinking Water Guidelines 2011, developed by the National Health and Medical Research Council
water quality standards set in our bulk water supply agreements with the retail water companies
- We use independently-certified systems to manage water quality, including ISO 9001 and the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) system. Both are used in food and pharmaceutical industries worldwide.

Those already there please confirm, deny or expatiate.

Dear All,

Kindly assist. ACS assessed my BSC in Electronics/Computer Engineering LASU (5 Year course) as associate degree major in computing. I thought 5 years courses are always reviewed as Degree and not associate.

Has anyone that has studied this course being assessed by ACS?
If it helps I studied Computer Engineering and was assessed by ACS. Got 15 points for education and in my assessment feedback this was the part of the summary by ACS:

Your Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering from school has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Bachelor degree with a Major in Computing.

Why did you withdraw your 190 application?
You never know, that ITA might come first. @fizzywah
Oh really!!! Just felt it would be best to avoid getting tied down to a particular state for 2 years going the 190 route.

But if there is any reason I may not be aware of please let me know. Honestly having made up my mind already about this movement the ITA should've come like last week. Kindly advise.

stepo707:
How was your result?
Hi Stepo07,

My result was okay. Before the test I was worried I hadn't done any mock tests and wasn't sure what to expect. The most difficult parts for me which came as a shock / rude awakening were the re-tell lecture and describe image areas of the test. I employed Jay's (E2 Language) method of Title + x-axis (for Describe image) however some mixed charts caused me to just talk (fluency) whilst not properly interpreting the right data on the chart. As a result of just wanting to apply proven methods my vocabulary was poor, got lowest marks there. The others were pretty okay (Read Aloud, Fill in the blanks, etc). Essay was standard.

This was on the 19th of December. Left the center feeling down due to the few mistakes in my speaking. Hesitated once and the mic got cut off after 3 seconds. On another occasion I used up the time and was also cut off.

As I read earlier here I expected my results in two to three days but was shocked to see an email telling me my score report was ready less than 24 hours after my test. Long tori short see my result below:

Listening - 84
Reading - 90
Speaking- 79
Writing - 90

Seeing the result above, I now realize how lucky I was to have escaped with a 79 in speaking and run away with "Superior English".
I quickly logged in to SkillSelect, withdrew my Visa 190 application, and then updated my 189 points which stood at 60. At the end of the update, the new score changed to show 70 points.

Came back here on the forum to find out that I just missed out on an invitation round and that the next will be on the 3rd of January. I can't wait.

Breaking down the process so far:

Age: 33 - 45.
Work Experience: 8 years +
ACS - Positive Assessment in October (Acknowledged 6 years, swallowed 2)
IELTS: LRSW - 8.0, 8.5, 7.5, 7.5 (should have remarked but didn't have a clue I could do so with these scores)
PTE: December 19th, Got superior English
Total points - 70.

My advice like many here have given for the PTE is to keep practicing with Jay from E2 Language especially on the speaking part which a lot of folks have problems with ( I know I did). If you have the time to do practice or mock tests (which I didn't have due to a crazy work schedule) then by all means please do so. 79 on speaking was me pushing it. Could have gone terribly wrong.

All in all I thank God and am now waiting for the ITA. Also a big thanks to everyone here that has shared stories on the platform to help others. God bless all of una.
