Mr. Obasanjo also accused Mr. Jonathan of placing over 1000 Nigerians on political watch list and “training snipers and other armed personnel secretly and clandestinely acquiring weapons to match for political purposes like Abacha and training them where Abacha trained his killers”.Jona is as corrupt as gen. Sani Abacha, nowonder he release major Hamza Al-mustapha from prison to execute his mission for him. May God let this country called nigeria disintegrate either bloody or bloodless come 2015. |
donphilopus: This man is a well known hocus pocus spewer! I expect him to still say the same thing in Bauchi, Jigawa, Borno, Adamawa and Yobe, and tell us the result.Even in south-east labaran Maku and insincere 9geria will tell you that, FG have commission onitsha port, work is going on 2nd niger bridge, orient oil refinery has been commission and working, anambra is now a oil producing state, they are deceiving their people. The issue of ajaokuta steel and Itakpe iron-ore company is another conduct pipe for looting. Dredging of river niger from bayalsa to baro in niger state is all ruse, the remaining portion of lokoja-abuja road contract was increase from N42 billion to N116 billion. We pray they complete it this time around. |
citizenY: Railway.... when they construct standard gauge... we shall clap... |
Perhaps they and their political sponsors ought to be educated on the etiquette for funerals. A funeral is not a place to go and shine. It is a place to go and mourn. As such, it is impossible to be snubbed at a funeral because you did not go there for yourself, you went there because of the bereaved! So jona went there to mourn a man of 95 year old, while SA are celebrating him. |
Akpati should keep quite, Tanbuwal is a leader with balls unlike the dumb who call him self a president. How would Tambuwal defend a corrupt govt when he knows every thing is not going right. Tambuwal has done is part in fighting corruption, let the retard do his own part, if he is sincere in fighting corruption. |
Mr. Abati reacted to the speaker’s statement via twitter. The presidential spokesperson, Ruben Abati, has described the criticisms by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, of President Goodluck Jonathan’s anti-corruption effort as “unfortunate.” Mr. Abati said this via his twitter handle, @abati1990, on Tuesday morning in response to criticisms by the speaker of Mr. Jonathan’s anti-corruption effort. I think it is unfortunate that a man that is occupying such a high office is talking about body language… — Reuben Abati (@abati1990) December 10, 2013 Mr. Tambuwal had spoken while responding to questions on Monday after he presented a paper titled the ‘role of the legislature in the fight against corruption in Nigeria’ at a one day roundtable to mark the international anti-corruption day organised by the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, in Abuja. “Take the subsidy probe, the pension, the SEC probe and recently the bullet proof car cases. After the House of Representatives did a diligent job by probing and exposing the cases, you now see something else when it comes to prosecution. “In some cases, you have the government setting up new committees to duplicate the job already done by the parliament. Take the bullet proof cars case, the NSA, with all the security challenges confronting the country, should not be burdened with a job that can best be handled by the anti-corruption agencies,” the speaker said while giving examples of the way the executive, led by Mr. Jonathan, addresses corruption issues. In his reaction, Mr. Abati, in a series of tweets, said, “Tambuwal should focus more on the efforts of the administration in fighting corruption, and comment on what he knows. The administration is not going to fight corruption on the basis of mere speculation, or the bad politics being played by some people. I think it is unfortunate that a man that is occupying such a high office is talking about body language” “He is certainly in a position to know the truth and defend both his party and the government. He should make the effort to know that government is investigating various matters & working on them in accordance with due process. President Jonathan will not condone any act of proven corruption. The fight against corruption is ultimately a collective responsibility,” the president’s spokesperson added. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/151226-corruption-tambuwals-criticism-jonathan-unfortunate-abati.html |
taharqa: Even Nigeria was NOT snubbed anytin. One President per Continent was choosen by d Organisers to speak on d occasion on behalf of their Continent I suppose. The Namibian President spoke on behalf of Africa, Period. And even if we wanted to use 'who contributed most to d AntiApartheid movement', did Nigeria contribute more than Namibia or any other Southern African country for that mata?... For God's sake, why shld this even be an issue? And why am I even on such a sillly thread??You see your life, after you people will say NIGERIA is the giant of Africa. Just to defend jona, you agree NAMIBIAN contribute more than NIGERIA to end Apartheid regime. Nigeria has done a lot for Africa and we deserve the respect in such occasion |

Yes APC is a party full with focus leader, leaders who can command respect, Not the ruling party that is full of retardians and moronic who lack leadership. he need to warn them and let them knw where they are, APC is a party which has discipline and unique ideology. |
Mr Everest: Its apparent that you've not taken my candid advice but I will admonish you for the umpteenth time to either make informed comments or quietly read what the technocrats are saying here. Now in lay man's parlance, let me try to explain to you what they are saying; You see all this your analysis are self-centred, why must goods get to onitsha before coming to northern part? Why can't i get it directly from lagos. And is onitsha port the only port that can decongest lagos port. Why not encourage FG to put portharcourt or calabar port into proper shape which is more closer to nitsha since they have direct access to atlantic ocean. My brother onitsha river port will remain a dream for now, because it is not viable. All the silt dredge out of the river and dump along the river channel had find their way back into the river, so you need dredging it all the time and you knw FG will always tell you they are broke. And am still reminding you that FG need to dredge all the river channel from Baro port in niger state to degema in bayelsa, you can't single out onitsha port for dredging alone if it must work. So for onitsha port to be in the news all the time is all about politics. |

Jonathan is not relenting, Akpabio is not loosing hope on the five rebel governor. That mean pdp leaders are having sleepless night over those governors who defected to APC and their children are here jumping around on NL |
Gov. Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State on Monday said that the five governors who defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC, had resolved to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for good. Mr. Wamakko announced their position while addressing State House correspondents after a seven-hour meeting of some PDP governors, including three of the G-7 governors, with President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that five members of the G-7 PDP governors defected to the APC while Governors Babangida Aliyu of Niger and Sule Lamido of Jigawa said they were still in the PDP. NAN observed that only Governors Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State, Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State and Babangida Aliyu of Niger of the G-7 attended the meeting with President Jonathan. The meeting, which started at about 8.45 p.m on Sunday night at the First Lady’s conference room, Presidential Villa, ended around 3.09 a.m. on Monday. Mr. Wamakko, however, said he attended the meeting following a presidential invitation extended to him and his other colleagues. He said that the meeting afforded him the opportunity to brief President Jonathan that the G-5 Governors who defected were no longer in the PDP because they had since moved to another party. ”Well, the meeting went on very well because some of us came here as governors to discuss PDP matter and our position has been known. ”On behalf of the five of us, I have already briefed Mr. President on our position as G-5 that we are no longer in the PDP mainstream and that we are already in another party. ”But as a president of this country, if he calls us, we will come and listen to him and respect him as a leader of our country, otherwise what we had there was mainly a PDP affair,” he said. Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, who also spoke on the outcome of the meeting, said it was part of President Jonathan’s efforts to ensure harmony and peace in the PDP. ”Mr president is not relenting. He is very serious about consulting with all strata and all bigwigs in the party, particularly the governors who are aggrieved, with a view to bringing everybody on board and ensuring harmony and unity of the party and the governors,” he added. He refuted the insinuation that the meeting with the president was unfruitful as the aggrieved governors maintained their position of leaving the PDP. ”How can all hope be lost? The party is very robust, large and as much as possible we are interested in keeping our leaders together. That is why we as governors are all here. ”We will continue to dialogue; this is not going to be the end. We have narrowed down few issues which we are taking up with Mr president and the governors are also going to discuss,” he said. NAN reports that both President Jonathan and his vice, Namadi Sambo, left the venue of the meeting at about 2.00 a.m. while the governors continued their meeting till later in the morning. Boko-haram sponsors has left jona govt, they are now international. Confusion for every where yepa! |
Speaking at a memorial service in honour of late Mandela at the Aso Rock Chapel in Abuja on Sunday, Mr. Jonathan said contrary to Mr. Mandela who was filled with humility, forgiving spirit and the ability to unite and reunite people, past Nigerian rulers played repressive roles during their reigns.Jona is now towing the part of failure also, one day some body will accused him of entrench corruption and nepotism in nigeria |
Mr Everest: This part alone renders your article useless, please pick up an atlas and know where Lokoja port is located viz a viz Onitsha port, until you do that please don't comment again, thank you!Which atlas, it's your brother who said onitsha port will server middle-belt and north-east with their market. I don't know how onitsha port will function if all the river channel on these axis are not dredge properly. I just hope FG is sincere with that project, because those river channel needs another dredging after last year flooding. That is why i say onitsha port will remain a mirage. |
Yakubu Gawon is a minority from middle-belt, he face a lot of challenge more than this, from the hands of biafran. I will read the rest later. |
KenGali: Guy na wah you. Why will Onitsha port not function if the the large stock of traders patronise it. The other ports you mention have there own peculiar challenges. They are not major commercial centers. While I wish them well, I see no reason to York them to Onitsha. There respective states can come up with ideas and make effort for their development. Further, success of our ideas for Onitsha, will make it easy to extended shipping to these places in the future.I know most ibo import through lagos from atlantic ocean and onitsha importers has to load it into barges for onward delivery to ontsha port, but it has to go through koko port in benin and lokoja port before getting to onitsha. So if those two port are not functioning how will onitsha port function? Also how would you supply the north-east you claim onitsha market do supply, if baro port in niger state is not function. All this port are link together through the plan of FG and onitsha port can't be single out. I think, one thing standing against those river port is the maintenance of the river channel, which FG can never sustain, so i see onitsha port as a mirage. I stand to be corrected sha. |
KenGali: those are serving a different purpose. There is an economic or rather commercial hub around and about Onitsha. It is pretty big, infact companies like SCOA, were trading there before the war. There is a huge price advantage to be gained when we can deliver goods directly cheaply over water. It is also not just the price gain, but the possibility of recapturing from Lagos some of the markets it Onitsha use to serve, especially those around the North East and the Middle Belt. Onitsha still supplies the majority of goods for Benue and Adammawa axisAnd you think only onitsha port is close to north-east and middle belt. What about baro port in niger state, lokoja port in kogi state they are all in the same categories. My dear onitsha port is always in the news because of politics, onitsha port can not function without Baro port and lokoja not put into proper shape. |
geeez: Destroying factories ke?A booming factory, which one can invest in and it less capital intensive . Believe me this business can increase the IGR of the state and compete with any oil producing state including lagos withing the shortest period if allowed. #Afam with due respect ignore my post# |
