Laca ahead of Aubu? Guy hope not be arsenal cause this see finish for Aubu Sha?
I'm an Arsenal fan and I'll tell you what most Arsenal fans feel about Auba which is the fact..
Auba seems to be another ozil,he isn't hard working, no airel threat,he's a ball to feet or space striker,i.e most of his goals are tap ins..he hasn't showed up in big games.

Laca on the other hand is an all round striker even with his short height and little pace, he still pose threat better than Auba,he's stronger on the ball, uses both feet, scores from any angle and doesn't hide in big games..

He's scored against Man utd,Liverpool, Atlectico,mancity.Auba hasn't.

At Dortmund,he had Shurlle,Reus, dembele, mhichky, kagawa et al, all Creating chances for him.

Maybe he could score far more in those big teams you stated, because sallah is the only one who's scored more than him in England since his arrival, but he seems to have dropped in general performance.

An Arsenal fan opined that...

"Lyon v Man City should be an eye opener to EPL coaches. City seemed to be invisible in EPL.
Coaches should watch videos of how Lyon played them (home and away) in UCL to find out City’s weaknesses. The obvious tactics I noticed from Lyon is high pressing with pace".

Even pep himself admitted the following:
"We are so delighted and so happy," he told BT Sport.
"They're one of the toughest teams I have ever faced. They're physical, they're strong and their counterattacking is incredible.
"People say the French league is just PSG, but they are so wrong."

That's why I'm always agitating for strength, physicality, power and pace. 90% of our boyz don't boast of the listed traits.

It takes a different mentality to win trophies than play good football.

Why I rate Pep is because he won the title with ease just as we all expected him to. Some other managers would have the same team and wouldn't win.

Moyes had the chance to spend at United and save his life but couldn't. Himself to blame.

Klopp has spent big this season, let see if he can win anything.

Pochentino has built a formidable side overtime. Can he win something?

If Pochentino wins this season, he gets rated. Until they win, they remain behind Pep.
Which mentality? quality depth in squad and Pep can have different players for diff competition.
It isn't the same for others, when the season starts to give players fatigue, pep introduced Bernardo from his squad and both another 50M defender. how many can afford this?
Leicester happens once in a life time,Conte had the advantage of not playing in Europe.

Mancini,pellegrini all won,so what's special?

Moyes was Europa at best,he never got to top 4, poch's played more in Europe.

Poch has proved himself to be a top class manager, the likes of Madrid were after him, either he wins or not wouldn't change Jack, those who understands footy knows this.
Klopp may win or not,but deep down good pundits would rate him.

The only thing I respect about pep,is his ability to retain that player style wherever he is

how can you guys say you can't rate a coach base in trophies, this was the stupid mentality wengay put in our heads.
No wonder we can't compete for anything, imagine yourself as a coach and you telling your players play good football I don't mind trophies.
No wonder arsenal and spurs have same thing in common, bottle up a strong position.
No wonder someone was having orgasm on Napoli that will go trophy less.
There's no coach that will set out his team not to win any possible trophy, no matter how you tell or strive to win, you wouldn't win jack if you won't.. Everyone cannot win the league in the same year, honest assessment of teams performance will give sincere rating of the manager
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Fkhalifa(m): 12:24pm On Nov 25, 2018
I'm also not part of those who rate a manager based on trophies won, Mourinho bullied us in his first seasons when the Russian billionaire was the biggest investor at Chelsea.
I personally rate Klopp,Poch,Emery, jardim and Simeone amongst many others, they aren't backed up with money like pep,mou..and yet set out a team worthy of competing at the highest level..

Don't forget how the big guns weak their side every year. So it isn't that easy to win trophies ahead of them.

Moyes couldn't survive when money came into play unlike poch.

Only God knows what could happen if the tables can be turned around.Pep/Mou managing teams with not so much financial backing and vice versa.

I will recruite the following:
SIDiBE
NATHANIEL AKE
DOUCOURE
WILIFRED ZAHA
MIGUEL ALMIRON
PULISIC
MEMPHIS DEPAY
CHiLWelL
ALCANTARA THIAGO

The above are typical pep signings, they aren't stars but modern day Guns ready for all kinds of war.

I will sell off the following:
LITCHTENER
KOLASINAC
CHAMBERS
XHAKA
ELNENNY
RAMSEY
OZIL
WELBECK
MHICKY

I'm sure pep himself will shake and the pundits will tip us for big things

They made City the favourite because of Pep. every time Pep coaches a team the pundits immediately make them the favourite because they know the job he can do on his teams

So it was the same error prone Stones that is now considered the coming of Maldini just to ridicule the work Pe did on him
Ahhh, you think they will make sevilla the favorite if pep goes there with limited backing of funds from the owner, just because it is Pep's team?
It is easy to name Bayern and city ( with funds)for quality squad depth.

Ipopalomo actually laughed at Walker and Stones, Walker was benched at his latter time at Spurs. Stones was the butt of jokes
ipop can't represent all football fans thought on them, I'm sure pundits instantly made city the league favorite that year for those acquisitions. Stones made errors in his first year, and its normal for anti pep/city to make a joke out of it.

SO Sky Sport reporting a transfer means exactly what? Is there a transfer Sky doesnt report?

Sane scored an entire 13 goals in his Schalke career, Bayern actually viewed Sane as too young and too raw far from the finished product and decided not to sign him. Guardiola signed him and suddenly we are hearing Sane was already a star
I meant the way his transfer was reported. He was thoroughly analysed and he wasn't like an unknown kid,but like a Sancho.
I'm not disputing pep didn't work on him, but he had it in him.

Sky will report any transfer. So reporting a transfer means nothing. You guys puzzle me.

What is "he was not SO unknown"?

The Sané you see today is that the Sané of Schalke? The same free scoring decisive Sterling of today is that the one we have always known?
whatever you do at a schalke won't be recognized world wide like that of a topflight city.
I remembered how gueondozi and yacin Adli were reported( like a gamble) while sane was like the next big thing.

Fkhalifa these are examples of the same poster who laughed at Guardiola signings when he refined them suddenly they are telling us they are world class signings
I would not have agreed with him that they were rubbish, walker was arguably the best RB in England, Stones was quoted around 50M when Chelsea were sniffing around him..
He might have called them rubbish just to rile Pep and city fans.

Was Sane better than Martial or Rashford 2yrs ago? I remember 2 seasons ago when some posters here used to laugh at Sane and Sterling even calling Sane one weak albino that cannot work in the strong EPL
Was Stones better than Bailly 2yrs ago. Was Stones not one of those players people mocked here?
Who were these stars that Guardiola bought, he bought many players under 23yrs groomed them and turned them into a potent force

Other managers too had money yet they didnt set up a top team like City
Sterling won the league under Pele before pep,he was close to winning it under Rodgers, Sterling, though not consistent wasn't a big fish in England, far ahead of martial and rashford.
Sane,I will agree looks like a Pep's work, though I fear could be a season wonder.
Stones was always on the media's headline, Chelsea wanted him,but pep was faster(money).
He may have improved them, but they weren't a guendozi(unknown) but a nicklas pepe or bailey.

No other clubs had money like pep.

Mendy didnt even play for almost the entire last season and he was a bench warmer for France behind Hernandez. So this is the great player Guardiola bought?

Or who are the top players Guardiola has been picking form his Man City? Guardiola wanted Alexis, wanted Fred, wanted VVD, wanted Bonnuci So why are they not in City?
Danilo, Mendy, Stones, Walker, Laporte, Bravo Sane, Gundogan Mahrez Bernardo these are the players Guardiola bought

How many of these will you name world top 20 ?

The team Guardiola won the EPL with last season breaking all points

Ederson Walker Stones Otamendi Delph Fernandinho KDB Silva Sterling Sane Aguero Jesuus

These are the so called stars and best player Guardiola has.
Anyone who read that will think Guardiola had prime Messi Xavi, Ronaldo, Neymar Iniesta etc at City
Now lets evaluate this claim

1. Which of these players have ever won a CL before? None
2. Which of these players have as much as played a CL final before? None
3. Which of these players have ever won a world cup before None
4. Which of these have ever won either a Copa America or a Euro before? Only D. Silva
5. Which of these have ever won Balon dor before? None
6. Which of these have ever made Balon Dor top 10 before? None
7. Which of these players have ever made a FIFPro first 11 before? None

8. Of those that have been in the league for more than a year Which of these have ever won PFA player of the year before? None

If we look at these starting 11 properly only about half of them have more than 35 caps for their country
Half of these players are less than 25yrs

So these are the same players that are the stars and best players that Guardiola is picking?
Mendy was the next big thing in Europe from Monaco that year before his injury..
The answer to the questions raised are players from the big guns in Europe mostly from Madrid and barca and they can't be priced out easily.
He was able to recruit top talents, they don't have to be from barca or Bayern.
How many teams apart from Madrid and barca can get walker, Mendy, Danilo,Stones,Mahrez,Silva for 50ms in 2 seasons? These guys didn't cost little, they were top quality players regardless of whether they have been in top10 or not.

Maradona didn't mean it the way you are interpreting it, Madrid and barca is the habitat of the top players and it isn't easy to price out their top players.
Also, Ronaldo, Ramos are not for the future..
That the city boys didn't do well(Argentina's agueo) for their national teams at the mundial may have contributed from their exclusion from the FIFpro, many won't rate Pavard ahead of Walker nor would they say Alves ahead of Mendy.

“I would give Pep the merit of taking advantage of the launch that Johan Cruyff gave him.

“I have said on more than one occasion that tiki-taka was not invented by Guardiola. It was ‘Flaco’ Cruyff.

“At the moment Pep is able to choose any player in the world that he wants. That way tiki-taka is easier,” Maradona told Marca.

Diego maradona's said it all.

We know his next destination is PSG where he will be opportuned to recruit all he desires in his team.

At the end, he still won't win in Europe.

I hate this Unai stubborn persistence on Auba from the left
The momentum we were on was too much for Crystal P, Liverpool & Wolves to draw us, only if he’d forgone this Auba from the left idea
I watch Chelsea – they have so many Proactive Ball Drivers – Hazard, Willian, Kovacic, Barkley
Presently our’s is only Iwobi, he’s the only one that wants to receive the ball and move with it to create something
Ozil doesn’t, his own play style is different, he stays in pockets to seeks out through passes
Meaning even with Ozil, we would still need another Playmaker Sort-Of – the one willing to call for the ball and drive it to the other attackers, Ozil never does that, so we at the moment need Iwobi and need him in his best position

The above is a post from a blog speaking what I feel. I feel sari inherited a better team, that squad bar Costa won the league 2 years ago
Emery inherited an Europa team,he need transfer windows to build his own empire.

Our so called Auba and laca and others didn't do half of what zaha did to us.
Sterling, hazard, zaha et all doesn't have much end product, they hardly score or assist 20+ but they contribute a lot into teams success.
