Your world view (and those of the people who liked this nonsense you wrote here) is limited to your small street. If it wasn't, you would have noticed that such despicable act is quite widespread and nothing to do with the reputation of people from any state. Go out more. Read more. Listen to news more. Don't limit your mind to just your street. iamadonis2: This is not because of the lockdown. Men from Akwa Ibom have an annoying reputation of sleeping with their daughters.
I have personally had an experience with an Anang man who almost killed my Brother for wooing his daughter. We thought it was the normal fatherly protection until a big fight ensued on morning and the girl screamed his bad acts for the entire street to hear.
She was 22 at the time, ran away from home, and father left the rest of the family - a wife and two sons. |
Health › Re: 108 New Cases Of COVID-19 Reported, Total 981, 197 Discharged, 31 Deaths by FLOW101: 9:01am On Apr 24, 2020 |
Three of Kyari's staff were infected. AIT1: I'm starting to have a rethink as regards this Covid19 cases in Nigeria. It is either the government is over- reporting or under-reporting this cases. I'm not convinced they are sincere with the figures, I might be wrong though.
But this is my take:
The Corona Virus in Nigeria is not as Lethal as we were made to believe. The late Abba Kyari came back to Nigeria March 14 and was diagnosed of the disease March 24, he attended several conferences, APC meetings and also led a delegation to the Kogi state Governor to greet him for the demise of his Mother amongst other things he did Within the 10 days.
Now, no single person was infected by the Late COS from the records, and the only record we have of someone infecting another person is Atiku son that infected the Bauchi Governor.
Hence, I believe all this hullabaloo about the spread of the disease here is weak. We've been on lockdown for about 25 days and we have barely tested 10,000 persons. It's obvious the government is not ready to do mass testing and the cases reported kept rising, so of what use is the Lockdown? What's the objectives of the Total Lockdown?
The government just need to devise any other mechanism for curbing this disease; a total lockdown cannot be sustained.
We were told the virus symptoms and it's complications will start showing after 14 days, since we've been at home how many people has fallen ill suddenly or died unexpectedly in each of our areas across the country. All of us sha can never be asymptomatic.
If they want to share the money, they should go and share it, they should leave us to go and continue our hustle. We are not able to sleep at night, vigilante up and down.
My Verdict: The lockdown should be partial, people can move around with facemask and any other thing to protect themselves. Schools, mosques, churches can still hold on. People are broke and hunger is real! |

It's a sad news to lose someone. My thoughts are with his family.
This just goes to show that money isn't everything.

I told him he said I should abort before people find out. We went to the hospital together to remove it but the money they are asking us is too much. We are students depending on my sister and brother in law. We are both stuck and confused. Am scared if my sister comes to find, out she will send me back to the village. I don’t want to go back.

This sweet story makes for a good fiction. The main reason El Rufai can't leave Sanusi is that Sanusi gave him a N5Bn project design contract without following due process when he was CBN Governor. Don't forget that El Rufai at the time was a key opposition figure. So the GEJ government was going for Sanusi for funding the opposition. That's why Sanusi quickly blew the false 'whistle' that $20Bn was missing. This is the real reason El Rufai can't ever leave Sanusi: N5Bn! lalasticlala: https://www.google.com/amp/s/punchng.com/agf-malami-kano-ag-ordered-my-detention-sanusi/%3famp=1 |

You don't understand merit. It shows in your response. Many Nigerians don't understand what merit really means. They've been going through life cutting corners in everything. The other day, one Northerner wanted to use 'connection' to jump a hospital queue of only three persons. I had to ask him if he couldn't do even the simplest things without gaming the system. Merit means a test taken by everyone should be the only basis of the scholarship, not the tribe or region of the candidate. Many people fail to realize that: 1. Easy Oil Money is the reason we can afford to be so stupid for so long. If our economy relied entirely on our productivity as individuals, we'd even be importing competent people from abroad like advanced societies do. 2. If all sectors of our economy were peopled with the most competent of us, we'd lift more people out of poverty. Heck, we'd be so rich that the low fliers now occupying critical positions on account of their tribe would even be on welfare where they'll live out their days to the best of their abilities. muhamm3d: I am not a northerner but I feel the decision by Buhari is right. So long as the northerners that were chosen are intelligent minds also. Not only the south have intelligent people they also reside in the north too. Every major group should be represented just for the sake of peace. Here you are wanting all southerners to be chosen for the sake of merit. Now if the president had chosen all northerners in the name of merit, what will be the reaction of every southerner? All southerners will be crying about how Buhari wants to northernize the country. Considering the nature of nigeria, the principle of federal character representation is what is still giving us a semblance of sanity and its currently more important than merit so long as all the candidates are of similar IQ. Jonathan that was trying to push all southerners for such scholarship is the one in the wrong as the principle of federal character is even enshrined in our constitution |

Also, you'll be making yourselves ready casualties of the result of opposition party insults of the current government and NNPC.
I know people who were in NLNG recruitment from 2013 that lasted for 3 years at least! In the end the recruitment was concluded after a pro-longed period of silence. We haven't even spent up to six months since the final stage. So what's the hurry?!

So now I'm also possibly suffering from the Mosgoon disease you've diagnosed? You're probably very young. The biggest mistake I made as a teenager growing up in Nigeria was to dumb down to fit in, just so I could avoid hurting sensitive egos of people like you who have chosen to be mediocre. I wish everytime that I could go back in time and relive those moments. As a Nigerian who has seen his country degenerate into the abyss it has become, I'm not moved by this mindset of yours wielded by most Nigerians. It just explains how we got here. I recognize that thinking: Be a 'teamplayer'. No dey do over sabi or people no go laik you. If people no laik you, you no go see better chance to loot oh. With enough people doing this for long enough, and promoting the 'cool' guys as against the high-fliers for long enough, we have arrived at this hellish situation as a country. The way out is for more of us to be the Mosgoons. We need to celebrate the Mosgoons as loudly as we celebrate singers and actors in the media. That's how to promote the right things. We shouldn't bury the Mosgoons when they choose to talk about their achievements, even if we feel they're seeking recognition. That recognition is their motivation. The same way a truckload of money is motivation for many 'humble' and criminal Nigerians. For a people now in the world's gutters, shouldn't we realize that this mindset isn't working? That's how a rogue will rob on the highways at night and turn up in church to give testimony about how his 'humility' and the 'grace of God' paid off. Someone who worked so hard, investing energy and many sleepless nights is also expected to say 'humility and the grace of God' are responsible for his success. Faux humility since Oyibo people left in 1960 has kept Nigeria in this situation. We should promote our best. If your ego is shaken or you feel sensitive that Masgoon has chosen to talk about his achievements, you need to revisit your mindset. You're a Nigeria in the making. Faux Humility! And just so you know, I'm not Mosgoon. I'm not moved by such infantile criticisms as the ones you critics have espoused here. DanXplore: You couldn't be more wrong. No one hates high flyers. We need them to make breakthroughs in Medicine, ICT, Economics, Engineering etc. Mosgoon on the other hand is suffering from a common psychological disease called "desperation". His special case of desperation stems from strong interactions between academic abilities, low self esteem and poor self control. A common symtom as he has exhibited is the impulse to recite and illustrate "achievements" whether opportunity presents itself or not. It is similar to Howard Wolowitz's impulse (The Big Bang Theory) to squeeze in his trip to space into every conversation within that period.
Mos4phy is the perfect adumbration of the character Chatur AKA Silencer in the movie 3 Idiots. I can't think of anyone more similar - it's like they're twins. There's a reason Rancho was loved and Chatur was disliked even though they were all "high achievers".
You appear to possess some symptoms of the Mosgoon-effect as well. You should watch it before it degenerates further. |

Too many people have said this on this thread for me to ignore. Why does Nigeria, the global poverty capital, hate high-fliers who don't parade the faux humility we're known for? Why haven't we realized that asking people who are ambitious to dumb down just to preserve the fragile egos of mediocres made us such a disfunctional society? bellaenkay: Sorry to say this. I am not one to comment on this platform, just an observer and i have been observing you for a while now. You really need to find a way to not sound boastful in all your comments. Somethings are better left unsaid. You may not know you re doing this but you often sound very boastful. You may also not understand the effect this may have on the people around you because you sound quite young, but with time you may see the consequences. Not everything needs to be said, modesty is a very admirable virtue, try it sometime. |

they've paid applicants within 3weeks now, about 2 days in a week each (1st week was Tues and Wed, 2nd week was Wed and Thurs, and last week was on Wed and Thurs as well)
Assuming they're paying about 1300 applicants in each day, that's 1300 X 6 = 7800
9000- 7800 = 1200...
Who knows, about 1300 might just be the remaining applicants that are yet to be paid. |
