I am presently in Australia. It is true, they pay higher wages here. However, Australia is very good at marketing itself to the rest of the world as the perfect destination. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to get a job for your level. They'd rather want you to do menial jobs. (And make you pay hefty sums for stupid training courses with no guarantee for a job). Also, the cost of living is quite high.

It is not a question of the amount but, the percentage if your earning. 50% is good enough for a low income earner. The remaining 50%, you should save 10%. 40% is yours for how you are led to utilize it.
