Hello guys I greet you all.
So I will be applying for a student visa in a couple of days and I need guidance as to what to upload. I (female) is the MA and I will be applying with my partner.
All my documents, international passport, offer letter and CAS is carrying my full name (maiden name). I got married October ending 2022 and I recently do a change of name and newspaper publication 8days ago.
1) I want to know if there's any need submitting the affidavit for change of name and newspaper publication since all my documents are still in my name? Asking because I do not want to complicate things for myself.
2) when filling the visa form and the asked for my name will I have to fill in all of my name as it's on my documents or I will have to use my husband's surname since I have changed my name?
3) My husband was living in a town close to my town before we got married and before our marriage he was planning to come settle in the town where I live. After our marriage he relocated to my town and started living with me due to house agents stress/wahala though he takes care of the bills anyways. Our registry certificate carries his former address and also showing our current address as my address. I hope this wont be a red flag?
4) Lastly, these are the list of documents I plan to upload for him during the visa application. His international passport, MA (POF), Consent letter to use POF, Home office consent letter, TB result, Marriage certificate, family pictures. Is this okay? He's scared and wants us to pay an agent to help us with the application but I'm scared of using an agent.
@all @gurus in the house please help me I need reply.
Thank you |

Thank you for your reply Outstandingmam: Not at all. What made you think that?
Pay your 1st session school fees, apply for residence permit.
What you need in your account is your upkeep for 1 year and if you succeed, they'll give you residence permit that'll carry you for your 2 years masters or 4 years BSC as the case maybe. |

You applied recently I guess. Most schools must have gotten enough students already hence the delay and you may probably not even hear from them again. Try considering applying for January 2024. DelCrux: This admission is becoming tiring, I applied to 5-6 schools, Sheffield hallam no response, Wolverhampton decision still pending, BCU no response, RGU nothing yet, Southwales asking for IELTS bolt on gave an unconditional offer but no email regarding payment or CAS..what am I doing wrong. Myself and my dependent will look into these cities. I appreciate Progressivegee: I have lived in worthing and I don't know why that town is unreasonably expensive. I guess because it's close to the sea, quiet and a retirement town. Cost of houses (rent) is even more than south east London. Southampton and Brighton are also expensive. You can try East Preston, Goring by sea, Lancing, and littlehampton as these areas are cheaper and you will find more new built houses there. |

Myself and my dependent will look up jobs in Brighton. Thanks for the heads up Dygeasy: Eastbourne is your best bet as it's closer to Sussex Uni and Brighton's city center as a whole. You also don't want to be too far away from job locations/opportunities. Brighton offers that in abundance. |

I really do not understand. The jobs with these firms refusing to give sponsorship are they not a permanent role If one is able to get a permanent job role do they still need a sponsorship Wait for your reply Thanks Aphrodite007: Sweetheart. Nothing annoys me more than someone’s who’s been lucky not understanding others pains OR making it look like others aren’t hardworking/lucky enough. I’m one of the most privileged and lucky Nigerians in the Uk, worked just 4 years here and on 140k all before 30 but I never act like others aren’t working hard enough or lucky enough or feel their pain. I’m the exception, not the rule.
Because I exist doesn’t meant others don’t. Because you can’t relate doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be empathetic/sympathetic neither does it allow you to discount the pain is the majority.
And for someone that steadily recruits my profession, 80% of corporate companies don’t sponsor due to fear or lack of understanding of the regulations. So unless someone is applying to the big 4 or top IT, NHS or govt.. there’s likely no sponsorship.
Ok.
Congrats on your 3 offers. |

Are you the student or the dependent?? heroshark: I really can't relate to the idea that firms are refusing to sponsor candidates. I came in last year September and by February this year I have received 3 offers from different firms with two offering to sponsor me. I don't know if I am just lucky or that other students/immigrants are failing to due their due diligence and instead chose care jobs as the easy way out.
During my interview, I do try to make it as clear as possible that I'm unable to join them without visa sponsorship. |

I do not understand what you meant by Government letter..please throw more light on this let me see if I can get this to add to my application. Then for GP letter can I submit family card from our dentist? Thanks you mimilyrics: Submit your documents + your marriage certificate. It's not compulsory to change your name to your husband's after marriage and the UKVI understands that as It's normal in the UK.
What UKVI needs to know is that your marriage is genuine. You can prove this with your marriage certificate, pictures, proof of you living together since you got married (bills, GP letters, Govt letters e.t.c.), joint account & joint investments with both your names and any other docs that can prove that your marriage is real. |
