My agent called me last week Monday to tell me the list was out and both me and two other friends of mine were picked. He said the list has been forwarded to HQR and that we should make sure our phones are always on because they we soon call us for our appointment letters. I DID NOT PASTE IT HERE BECAUSE OF THE "THOMAS" AMONGST US.

Also the muslim celebration of Eid Mubarak(Ileya) might fall on dat day or on d 15th. If this is d case, is there a hope dat d date for Screening will b Shifted?

siina: Just to clear the tension in the house,i was at this interview in enugu so i ðø not see anything abnormal in this list been delayed till now.......Nigeria Army Direct Short Service Commission DSSC selection interview is scheduled to hold at Headquarters 82 Division Nigerian Army Enugu from 4-17 September 2011.

Nigerian Army DSSC Shortlisted Candidates for Interview 2011
General Instructions to Candidates:

1.) Candidates are required to report on 4th September 2011 for the interview with the following:

Writing materials including ruler and eraser.
2 pairs of white vests (unmarked)
2 pairs of navy blue shorts.
Canvas shoes/trainers and white socks.
Toiletries.
Set of cutleries (including plates and drinking cup)
Bedding to include blankets, white bedspread and pillow case.
Candidates are to bring their current medical report including ECG from any government certified hospital.
Four (4) copies of full size colour photographs in standing position and in suit.
2.)  The selection board will involve physical, medical and academic test. There will   also be an oral interview for the candidates

3.)  Candidates will be required to produce original and photocopies of the following:

a)  All academic/professional certificates (including degree/HND, WASC/GCE or equivalent, testimonials, NYSC Discharge or valid Exemption Certificate as applicable, Primary School Leaving Certificates as applicable and a file jacket).
b) Valid birth certificate as endorsed by the National population Commission, hospital, Local Government Council of birth or valid age declaration.
c) Valid certificate of state of origin.
d) Military Official Identity Card (for Service Personnel).
e) Letter of recommendation by the commanding officer for military personnel.
f) Letter of sponsorship for military personnel.
4.)  Candidates will be fed and accommodated for the duration of the interview.

5.)  Candidates will be responsible for their transportation to and from the interview venue.

6.)  The use of private vehicle will not be allowed throughout the duration of the interview.

7.)  Visitors will not be allowed throughout the duration of the interview

anienwe: My brother, you guys have said it all. From inception, military jobs had always been compectitive. Any Barrack boys in house? Or people with military ties in d house? Dey wil comfirm dis. I started pursuing military career (NDA) in d early 90s, and DSSC in d Mid 2000. So I know what I am talking. Infact, I remembered sometimes ago, one of our bank customers who was a senior lawyer den (He is not less dan 60 interms of age) told me he made attempts to join d army in his time but he was not selected. Even my pastor who work with Chevron presently, when I met him for prayers concerning my army ambition, he told me he had tried it too. This pastor should be in his late 50s or early 60s. What are we not saying? My bros (Army Brig Gen) always tell me: U CAN BUILD ANY CAREER IN D ARMY. Although, d number of army applicants had increased recently, am not disputing dat fact. Maybe, I will attribute it to recently improved renumeration in d army. I remebered 5 years ago when I took my DSSC form to a (army Col)for signing and assistance, the Col asked me: as a Banker, how much was I earning? I told him. Then he showed me his pay slip. As at den he earns 200,000 monthly or thereabout. He told me to my face dat I earned more than him dat what am I looking for in d army. I TOLD HIM I HAVE PASSION FOR THE JOB. Its all about passion but not d pay. Dose chasing d army for d sake of pay should better give way for people who have passion for d job o. LOL. Happy sunday all NL and God bless us all.

i say provided you correctly filled and completed the online application form, you will be shortlisted for screening & exam.
if you no sabi jargon sef u will be shortlisted if u get Godfather. I know someone who could possibly not have passed the exams but was commisioned in 2011. If you need proof, IM me and i will inbox you his facebook link. if there is no privacy settings, you will see the jargons and grammatically incorrect updates he posts on his wall. then maybe you can tell how he passed....or i can tell you who his father is.
