You confusion is understandable. it is true that apostle Paul's words at 1cor. 15 sounds as if those alive will change their fleshly bodies to that of spirit spontaneously, but a close consideration of the verse shows that it is after death that one will put on a spirit body to live in heaven. but it will be IMMEDIATELY after the person's death during the presence of the lord.

secondly, you need to bear in mind that Christ's presence covers a period of time.

these summary will help:

- no one has gone to heaven before Christ's presence.

- the presence covers a period of time.

- shortly the tribulation will come. it is this tribulation that will culminate in the war of armaggedon.

- after armaggedon, there will be the resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous. these resurrected humans will live under the rulership of Jesus and his corulers (those that went to heaven during his presence). john 5: 28, 29

Jesus and his corulers will rule for a thousand years. it is this one thousand year period that is called the judgement day. (a day in God's sight is one thousand years in our eyes. 2peter 3: (Rev. 20 - end.)

the unrighteous ones to be resurrected are logically not the ones who has been destroyed in any aspect of judgemental destruction. eg flood of Noah's day, Sodom and Gomorroh, armaggedon.

after the one thousand years of Jesus uninterrupted rulership, the devil will be released from prison to test those who had enjoyed the period of peace of a thousand years. No doubt there will be a bible education work during the thousand years for the unrighteous before satan will be released. Rev. 20:7-9.

- after the destruction of satan and his cohorts, Christ will hand over rulership to his father. 1cor. 15:28. by this time, no longer will death appear again.

Remember that those faithfuls who were raised to heaven will never experience satan's temptation during the thousand years, and in turn can never die or experience the second death or total obliteration.

those who stand the risk of experiencing the second death are those righteous and unrighteous who will live on earth under the heavenly rulership of Jesus and his corulers. Rev. 20:6.

This is just a summary. further questions will bring more scripture to light.

A church is a place in which gentlemen who have never been to heaven brag about it to persons who will never get there.
